Bubble Tea

Bubble Tea
Catching up with loved ones and listening to our favorite music while we chewed on our tapioca pearls. Much has changed since I was first introduced to bubble tea, but my love for bubble tea has not. The traditional milk tea is my favorite. The sweet, creamy beverage of strong tea, milk and those addictive tapioca pearls is something I crave so frequently. Have you got a favorite flavor of bubble tea?

Pan Fried Beef Tenderloin
Tangy, garlicky, and tasty beef is prepared in a savory marinade of citrus liquids and soy sauce. It has the flavors that remind me of my father's cooking: salty, sour, and just a little bit sweet. I still remember having the need to beg my father to prepare additional sauce so I can drizzle some over my rice.

Honey Hoisin Glazed Meatballs
A tasty, inexpensive meal with Asian influences. A honey-hoisin glaze covers these succulent, delicate meatballs. Chinese barbecue, often known as hoisin sauce, has a strong flavor all by itself. It is mellowed but still retains a rich depth of flavor when paired with other ingredients. Served with roasted sweet potatoes and zucchini.
Pasta doesn’t make you fat. How much pasta you eat makes you fat. –Giada De Laurentiis

The Soup Spoon Cafe
The most enjoyable meals in life are those shared with loved ones or close friends. My fondest memories of food are of watching my father prepare and serve his own meals to our family. It makes me so happy recounting the family dinners from my youth.
One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well. -Virgina Woolfe

Creamy Chicken Congee topped with Bacon
Add bones for the most delicious congee. It's a cost-effective and environmentally friendly method of cooking, but I use it because the chicken congee I make with the bones is far superior. Congee can be made with just water and rice; nevertheless, many traditional meals around the world use the time-honored method of adding bones to dishes that don't necessarily call for them.
“When I give food to the poor, they call me a saint. When I ask why the poor have no food, they call me a communist.” ― Dom Helder Camara

Fish and Chips
I grew up Catholic and celebrate and observe certain rules. For many catholics like myself I have to remember to abstain from meat on certain days during Lent and that means Ash Wednesday, Good Friday, and all Fridays during Lent. So during these times I make it easy on myself, these are the days you would find me having some sushi rolls or some fish and chips.
“Food, in the end, in our own tradition, is something holy. It’s not about nutrients and calories. It’s about sharing, It’s about honesty, It’s about identity.” -Louise Fresco
