The Ball Bearing Story

In honor of me playing D&D tonight (its been a month), I shall regale you all with the ball bearing story.

 I’m going to be tagging dnd stuff with the usual things like dnd. But, I’m also going to be tagging it under apple dumpling gang.

For context, the group is separated into two parties:

Aurora, the elven wild magic sorceress, had been taken by Queen Mab of the Winter court for punishment (she didn’t know to not fight the ice dragon).

 Meanwhile, the rest of us (being Jon the human Ranger, Kit the kalashtar Bard, and Oleander the tiefling/wereraven rogue (long story) I’ll start from the beginning of me joining the game later) were trying to find a way to get to her.

After encountering a two-headed giant and avoiding being eaten by it (and trying to get it to cannibalize itself) it didn’t work), the trio encounter a field of mushrooms and a shopkeep with two potions (do I remember what the potions do? Not at the top of my head).

 This shopkeep will trade the potions for 1,000 (or 500) gold worth of adventuring gear and 50 lbs. of mushrooms. While the others debated on what gear to give up, I looked into my inventory and hatched a plan.

 Ball Bearings.

(bold is Oleander.)

 “ I’ve got a plan.” Oleander spoke as he sauntered up to the stand and leaned against it.

 “ You, my fine gentleman, are a good business man. I can see it in your eyes.”

 The man is pleasured by my compliment as I continue,

 “ What you need is ball bearing.”

 “ Ball balling? What’s that?”

 “ Well, it can be whatever you want it to be! Need a tent but -Oh no!- you don’t have any wooden stakes to hold it up? Ball bearings. Need a paper weight? Ball bearings! Want something to keep you company when no one comes around? Ball bearings! Want to play a game of bowling or checkers? Ball bearings! It can be whatever you want it to be!”

 So, the deals ends up being 200 ball bearings and a 5 lbs. mushroom (one big ol’ mushroom).

 Now, we have two potions and I am left with 800 ball bearings. The power of a rogue and their persuasion skills. Also, the rest of the party was laughing at this moment, and the GM was just willing to let me ramble on about ball bearings.

Creepermits

Despite the horrid headache plaguing my brain, I’ve decided that now is the time to talk about my idea of this. 

The costume mainly takes a form of a mask (or enhanced onesie. undecided). This mask was at first worn by Scar and gave the mask its magical enchantments.

 Scar scares and allows Grian, Cub, Hypno, Joe, and Cleo (and Bdubs! Shoot I forgot about him) to wear said masks. Each of these masks, due to their connection to the original become enchanted too. Scar and Grian are the most affected by the masks due to their longevity of wearing.

 While I work on the drawings, this is just a little overview of each person and how their affected by the mask.

Scar:

 Slightly taller than his usual self and covered in fur from head to toe. His legs and lower body has become that of a creeper taur; however, his tail is long and brush-like and he has four paws).

 (Oneshot wise. Mumbo comes by and discovers what happens to Scar. While Scar recovers from the changes, Mumbo helps Scar get his leg braces readjusted for his back legs).

 Scar’s coat is a mixture of being primarily brown with patches of green dotted throughout.

 Behavior wise, he acts more cat-like.

Grian:

The same height as his usual self and still a bat hybrid (wings, ears, tiny tail). On top of this, he still has two legs but built more cat-like.

 But despite staying relatively the same, he’s more tired than usual due to the increased fluff and the amount of energy that he spends by zooming about. He tends to sunbathe more which leads to him snoozing.

 Color wise, Grian is primarily the color of his hair.

 So, like Scar, he acts more cat-like.

Cub:

 A creeper-taur like Scar; however, Cub’s back legs are hooved instead of being paws. Due to Cub being a bear hybrid, his fur is much more fluffy. What’s strange about Cub is that he’s got horns.

 Colorwise, Cub is a mixture of black and green.

Hypno:

 Hypno is a yellow/black scaly creeper-taur with clawed front feet and hooved back feet. Due to losing a lot of hair, he’s actually quite cold and wears way more layers/sunbathes when not wanting to be weighed down.

Cleo:

 Cleo is a scaly bipedal creeper with webbed claws for hand and foot (opposing limbs being skeletal) in fact, a lot of her is zombie like). Colorwise, she’s a dull green with red back markings.

 She’s a bit more hostile than the guys (with an exception of Bdubs).

Joe:

 Joe is a strange case. See, he’s got a fluffy, hooved lower half; however, his upper half is scaly. Color wise, Joe’s lower body is green with brown patches while his upper half is blue with brown patches on his back.

Bdubs:

Finally, we have Bdubs. He’s a bit feral when compared to the others (besides Cleo). Bdubs becomes a fluffy bipedal creeper with paws. But unlike Grian, Bdubs’ back fur grows.... flowers? Huh.

So, as I work on other things, I sometimes drift back to The RIFT AU. Which, in all honesty, I want to work on and evolve; however, I need to work on my oneshots and such.

 Once I read 50 posts, I plan on opening my asks up... Why haven’t I done it yet? Well, I wanted a bit of a footing before I did more here on Tumblr.

But, anyways, the rift:

In Grian’s most recent episode, it mentions that the rift brings about nostalgia. So, what if that’s how it’s keeping its prisoner’s contained? 

 Maybe, it tries to trap Scar, Cub, and Jimmy, and they have to deal with the illusions that try to separate and pull them away from each other?

Welsknight

It’s not quite my favorite Welsknight designs. Don’t get me wrong though, I still like the ponytail and the unicorn traits; however, I need to change some other things.

 I know for certain that he’ll probably look better in color.

 Also, now that I’m finished with these headshots. There’s no telling what I’ll do next.
