Chan scrambled to grab the tweeters and the bottle as you turned down the lights and laid out the champagne flutes.

The champagne popped at 2 and you grabbed his shirt at 1 and pulled him into a kiss at ‘Happy New Year’ as the drink foamed out over his hand.

Neither of you were dressed up. He was shirtless in basketball shorts and you were in a shirt three times two big from a random city you visited.

The world outside you exploded in fireworks and cheers to the new year. You were stuck in London after a mix up with your layover while going to visit his family in Australia. The hotel room was quite what you had planned, by now his family rang in the new year about 12 hours ago.

You pulled away from him, smiling so big your cheeks would hurt. He mirrored your happiness before pouring the champagne while you blew a noise maker much louder than you meant to. He grabbed one too and blew it in your face dissolving you into a mess of giggles. Soon, you stopped paying attention to the celebration on tv at all as you kissed again between sips of champagne and dancing to the faint music of the nearest party.

Stuck anywhere with him is still heaven.

During your week tour of the EU you’d asked to stop for the night to ring in the new year. He wasn’t used to really celebrating New Year the same way you were but he indulged you anyway. There you just blended into the crowd, the people around you waiting for the single digit countdown to begin.

At the beat of the explosion of cheers you pulled Yunho close and kissed him with every bit of excitement and hope you had for this new year. He held you tight for that moment that felt like hours. When you pulled away everything felt like it was in slow motion.

The electricity of everyone wishing for a better year was palpable. People were hooting and hollering moving through the crowd with blowers and poppers but all you could see was him. Through the chaos, you let him lead you back to your little room at the cozy hotel. He wasn’t much for a new years celebration usually but the feeling that radiated throughout the town spurred his hands. Pants and shirt discarded with purpose. Movements quick but full of passion as he made you scream, rivaling the loudness outside.

Climaxes happening in unison with your hands pulling him to you. He laid his forehead on yours, breathing into each other as you tried to catch your breaths. A particularly bright, red firework caught both your attention. It lit up the small room for a moment then another one with an even louder crack.

He turned back to you with a smile. “Happy New Year”
