Crap.

Seriously? Demons shouldn't even feel things like this.

Akaza was watching as Douma wandered about, happily skipping as he greeted fellow members of the Kizuki. Looking in another direction, he saw Enmu joking with Rui, as well as Daki and Gyutaro running about. Even Kokushibou was out, monitoring the bunch, Uppermoon 3 standing awkwardly off to the side.

Watching all of these interactions made Akaza feel... touch starved. Recently, no one would come up and talk to him, not even Douma. Although the striped demon reacted rather aggressively when anyone, especially Douma, even approached him, the truth was, he didn't entirely hate interacting as much as he let on. He wanted to socialize too.

Lowermoon 1 turned to leave, Rui waving him goodbye, when suddenly they made eye contact. Hesitating, Enmu paused, deciding what to do. He averted his eyes, rushing out of the room. Akaza's gaze drifted to the ground. He crossed his arms, digging his fingernails into his bicep as he felt his eyes get hot.

Before any tears could escape, he made his way out of the room slowly, before sprinting down the halls, desperate to get away from everyone. Now out of earshot, air hissed out of his nose, a hand clamping over his mouth as tears began to stream from the striped-demons eyes, wetting his palm as uneven breaths came out of his lungs.

He wasn't that terrible to be around, people didn't find him that obnoxious.. right? Right?

Back sliding against the wall, Akaza plopped down on the hard ground, head resting on his knees as he brought his arms up to shield his face from the world. Soft sobs came from his throat. The pink-haired man bounced his leg, the motion slightly moving his arm with it. Minutes passed, suddenly the tears stopping. The demon wiped his face, his head throbbing against his skull.

Leaning back, Akaza rested his head against the cool wall behind him. His entire body ached. It felt like he hadn't rested in weeks. The entire world seemed to quiet. Even the crickets hushed their calls as Akaza focused on the pain in his head. It was peaceful for a few moments, until soft footsteps were heard.

"Akaza-dono?"

The shorter demon jolted, catching glimpse of rainbow eyes before turning away, cheek smushing against the wall in a feeble attempt to hide the fact that he'd been crying.

"Oh, dear.. Are you alright?"

"I'm fine. Leave me alone." stubbornness overtook him, hating the way his voice broke. "No, you're not. Tell me what's wrong, you can trust me."

"It's none of your business. Leave me alone." Douma paused, not saying a word as he crept forward, taking a peak at his face. Seeing his eyes had a slight red tint in them, he softly sighed, hand resting on Akaza's right shoulder, his thumb rubbing soft circles into the crook of his neck. No move was made to stop the interaction.

Something clicked in Uppermoon 2's brain. Remembering how the smaller demon looked so lonely before, and how he reacted when Enmu avoided him. He remembered how long it had been since he and Akaza had had a conversation. It had been way too long...

"I'm sorry." Akaza's eyes widened slightly, slowly turning his head to face Douma before moving the rest of his body to properly face him. Without warning, the white-haired man lowered himself and pulled Akaza into his embrace. The striped demon racked his brain for a reason as to why he should pull away. He didn't find one.

He wrapped his arms around the other, Douma rubbing his back gently as they held each other. The blonde pulled Akaza into his lap. Once again, he was met with no resistance. Tears began falling from Uppermoon 3's eyes once more, hands clutching the other's shirt.

"Now, now. We can't have you so upset, can we?" Douma began tracing Akaza's back, gently scratching at his shoulder blades. Soft titters escaped the other's lips. For all the anger he expressed, nothing could change the fact that he's deathly ticklish. He held the other tighter, barely even squirming as gentle prods to his sides were added. Maybe he wanted this to happen.

"Pffteheheheh! Dohouma!" giggles poured from Akaza's mouth, the tears stopping once more as he resigned himself to his fate. Although, there was something different. All the other times he'd been tickled, it had been rough, intense tickling leaving him exhausted. While he hadn't hated it, this time the sensations were gentle, caring, even. Akaza's body didn't go into panic mode, allowing him to enjoy the attention as he laughed himself silly.

Spidering upwards, Douma wiggled his fingers next to his underarms, squeezing the muscles on the backsides of them. Akaza squealed, almost bringing his arms down. Douma saw this, quickly switching to tracing his biceps still placed around his neck.

The pink-haired demon went back to giggling, burying his face into the other's neck. Hips wiggling, Uppermoon 3 continued snickering, giggling intensifying the moment the icy-haired demon began blowing down his neck. "Do you feel better, Akaza?" Akaza nodded, twitching slightly before bursting out laughing as a raspberry was placed in the crook of his neck.

"DOHOHOOUMA! ENOhohohoo!" "Eno? What does that mean?"

A whine came from the other's throat as he attempted to answer the question. "Ehehehe!" fingers dove down to massage into the dips of his hips "EEHEHEHEHEEK! I-IHIHI CAHAHAHAAN'T!" "Sure you can! use your words~" hands hit against the blonde's shoulders. "stoHOHOHOOP! NOHO MOHOHOHORE!" "Alright, alright."

Fingers detached themselves from the smaller's hips, returning to rubbing his back as the other struggled to catch his breath. They stayed like that for a while, staying in each other's embrace, until Douma stood, picking Akaza up with him.

"What.. Whahat are you doing..?" the smaller demon tilted his head to the side, looking to the ground as he was was cradled, feeling rather sheepish. "You're coming with me to have some tea." "Oh.. Okay." The two made their way down the hall to Douma's designated room. Douma set Akaza down on a futon, turning around to make the tea.

Akaza looked around a bit, noticing a few trinkets, but there was nothing out of the ordinary. A few minutes passed, until eventually a hot mug was handed to him. "There you go." Akaza wrapped his hands around the mug, taking a sip. "Thank you." Douma smiled.

Maybe people did like him after all.

I was super tickled when you started going through my Drarry rec lists, as well. You are such a bright light in this fandom, and your budding talent can only grow up and out, spiraling and exploding into something brilliant, both in and outside of fandom. I wanted to cry when I initially saw this post, and I took a bit to think about what I wanted to say before responding.

There are a few instances in life when you come across something that you know is going to fundamentally change you forever as a person, and joining gwb and becoming friends with all of you amazing people has been one of those things for me. My world has expanded in so many ways since I’ve known all of you, and you, Alex, in particular, have been a joy to watch experience things in Drarry for the first time because it only rekindles my own love for the fandom. It’s an honor and a gift to be able to call you my friend.

And that goes for so many of the rest of my gwb family. All of you are special to me, and I hope that I’ve managed to convey that in some small way through our journey together. It’ll have been a year for me in October, and I can’t imagine having gotten through this past year without y’all. "I feel broken," they said to the darkness, a secret whispered between them and their fellow captive in this place.

Only the quiet inhale and exhale of the other's breathing answered them.

They stared into the darkness above them, wondering if they'd get any response. What did they want them to say? Words of comfort? Of affirmation they felt the same? Some confirmation at least they were not alone in this nightmare.

But the silence stretched. Until they became convinced their companion was asleep. Their admission had gone unheard. Perhaps it was the best, to keep such things inside. That once fears were said out loud, they would become reality.

Or perhaps, they had never said anything in the first place. Maybe they only imagined the admission had whispered past their lips. More of their sanity, slipping through the cracks.

A shuffle broke the silence, their companion turning over to face them. They heard them sigh, as exhausted as they were.

"You're not broken," their companion whispered in reply, their voice low and hoarse.

They smiled softly at the words. Perhaps that's what they had wanted to hear, needed to hear, to make it through another night. Until their companion finished with-
