àŒLECHE OF THE SIRENS.àłàż*

corrupt!enhypen ot7 x siren!reader warning(s): the boys being downright disgusting, reverse harem, mature themes, obsessive and possessive behaviours, (y/n) is manipulative and puts them in their place, unconventional 'love' type: mini series word count: 10.4k

seven nobles who are corrupt meets a girl akin to a celestial being. little do they know, that the maiden is anything butâas she is the bane to all abominable man, a siren.

đźunghoon scoffs incredulously at his friend, Jongseongâs, decision to sneak into the prostitute house through the back door. âDonât tell me youâre still playing the role of the refined, virtuous young lord?â
Jongseong clicks his tongue with a frown as he turns his face away from his deprecating friend. âI have to. If I wish to be the head of my house, I have to maintain a polished reputation. My father sees to it that I will.â
The young can only roll his eyes though a ghost of a smirk plays on his lips. âOh, and youâre doing a very good job with that, arenât you?â
âHow is it that youâve managed to keep your wickedness hidden?â Jaeyun asks with an arch of his brow.
âBecause Iâm smart,â Jongseong shamelessly confesses as he faces them once more. âI only use those with either nothing to gainâŠor everything to lose if they were to be acquainted with meâthat includes the ladies.â
The other five of his friends, excluding Riki and Sunoo who seem to be disinterested in their venereal subjects, only stay silent at the sideâarms crossed and deadpanned.
âWell then, the three of us will proudly enter through the main door while you have to sneak around like a little rat for daddy,â Heeseung mocks to which Jongseong frowns at but he tells no falsity.
He then turns to the youngest three with hands in his pockets. âWhat about you lot?â
Riki wraps an arm around Jungwonâs shoulders with a playful smirk. âWe plan to watch them dance. They have a performance tonight.â
âAnd weâve gotten the VIP tickets,â Won adds and pulls out two slips making Seong knit his brows.
âOnly two?â
Sunoo raises a hand. âIâm staying out. The aromas they they use are headache inducing.â
âSuit yourself,â the oldest of the bunch says casually with a shrug before they all haughtily enter the establishment in the red district.
The lone member sigh watches them disappear before he retreats to the lively booths that line the roads. Various savoury smells and appetizing images of food bring delightârekindling his spirit for fun. Heâs always been fond of all types of delicacies.
âWhat would you like, young man?â The vendor asks Sunoo who so conspicuously eyes the food at his stall with stars in his eyes.
The customer grins happily, ear-to-ear before he speaks. âAll of it!â
â
âIâve eaten too much, ugh,â Sunoo groans and pats on the waistband of his high-waisted trousers that make his every move uncomfortable. Even breathing is distasteful with each inhale causing his slight bloated abdomen to strain against the band.
As he walks at the side of the now much serene and isolated street as itâs nearer the exit of the district, he halts in his steps at the sigh of a maiden standing near the shore of the sea.
Sheâs clothed in a ragged dress with the hems either disintegrated or chewed away by ants and its colour has faded to the point where one canât exactly discern its original hueâwhether grey or brown or beige or even white.
Furthermore, she lacks shoesâstanding with her feet bare against the sand as she blankly stares at the water that rolls towards her toes but not close enough to touch.
Sunoo scowls, disturbed and mainly disgruntled by seeing an obtrusively nameless, untitled woman who so clearly does not belong in the festive and enchanting district. Heâs about to turn away but the maiden does so firstâmeeting his glare that instantly softens to be filled with astonishment.
Heâs awestruck.
The beauty the lass beholds is unlike any other. With eyes as clear and scintillating as the full moon yet deep and secretive like the depth of the seas, dewy skin that shimmers beneath the light, cheeks that bloom radiantly with life and lips pulled to the loveliest smile that the young noble has ever seenâshe is mesmerizing.
So bewitching that it enthralls himâhis every sensesâto the point that he believes that she might not be human.
And for someone renowned as one of the most irresistible and pursued men of the time, that statement holds no exaggeration.
âWhat a beaut!â A man suddenly comes by with his friend. The two are dressed in fine suits and adorned with ostentatious accessories, displaying their wealth and rank in the social class yet their behaviour juxtaposes them.
Their faces are flushed and hair all tousled, clearly blotto.
âWhich company are you from, huh?â The man hiccups as he approaches the mysterious girl whoâs now focused on the pair. âPretty girl like you wearing crappy clothes like this in this place can only mean two things.â
She remains still and silent with head lifted to look up at the taller man looming over her.
âOne, you ran away. Two, you got thrown out because youâre not âperformingâ well. NotâŠsatisfying enough,â he continues with a drunken chuckle while his friend snickers.
The first sound emits from the girl when the latter roughly grasps her jaw in his hand, causing her to gasp. He hums as his eyes narrowed onto her. âDANG! With this typa face, tho! Youâre too precious to he thrown! You ran away, huh?â
She takes a step back.
âNo, no, donât you dare run,â the man growls and now grapples her by the shoulder with his free hand. His face expresses displeasure but it soon shifts to a mischievous grin. âWhy donât we find out ourselves, hm? If there really is something wrong with ya.â
His hand unlatches from her jaw to travel down her neck to her collarbones and Sunoo, the only witness to the whole scene, turns on his heels to walk away.
âSheâs ravishing, but sheâs still a shameful, used woman with nothing to her name,â he thinks vainly and begins to step away. âWhatever happens is not my responsibilityâand none will care either way.â
He begins his stroll but is compelled to turn once more at the sound of a painful grunt and heâs met with the view of the young woman biting the hand of her assaulter that rests on her shoulder before she kicks the other in his shin.
And with another swift motion, she retrieves an auger shell from the sand below them before slashing its sharp tip against their facesâalmost stabbing one of them in the eye which leads to him stumbling backwards and crashing onto his arse.
âYOU WHXRE!!â The one on his feet roars with pure wrath and the gaze in his bloodshot eyes is baneful. He plans to end the girl right where she stands.
But just as many times before, she stays mute and skillfully dodges him with a mere bend to the sideâhis drunken self too wobbly to move as agile as he wishes. And right when his back faces her from his reckless offense, she stabs the shell into the flesh of his back without a single blink. Once, twiceâand thrice.
His wail of pain cuts through the tranquility of the night as he falls onto his palms and knees into the water. Blood flows rapidly from his three wounds despite them being quite tiny. She dug them deep enough.
âTake him with you,â is all the girl says to the one trembling with fright and thus, forced to sobrietyâhis face blanched and the centre front of his trousers carrying a warm, dark patch.
He pathetically crawls to his injured friend and carries him onto his back before hasting away like a scurrying rodent.
She who remains behind observes as they further away before dropping the bloody shell and inhaling, exhaling, as if to calm herselfâignoring the second presence who stares her from afar with wonder in his widened eyes and cheeks in a faint rosy tint.
He already found her entrancing enough by a mere glance, but now, seeing what sheâs capable of, seeing how a true gem she is, heâs utterly spellbound. And he truly must be because heâs completely unaware of her approach until she stands before him with an armâs length between them.
âWhy did you not aid me?â She queries and the sound of her voice tickles his ears, causing his hair to rise and his insides tingle with a rush of sparks heâs never felt before. âWhy leave?â
Sunoo looks down at her as his breaths slow, the adrenaline that courses through him from just watching her beginning to calm. ââŠThere was no reason for me to help. You are an insignificant stranger and neither did saving you will benefit me in any way.â
âHow cruel,â she says yet, those words hold no criticism or any sort of sentiment. Itâs simply a statement, an observation and still, the softness and tune of her voice in which she uses to speakâa most subtle raise in pitch at the endâmakes it seem as if sheâsâŠamused. âItâs a shame you think of me in such way when I think of you so highly.â
The other maintains his position as she takes a small step forward. âWhat do you mean?â
âI was hoping to gain your attention. Iâve been seeing you since before, Sunoo,â she continues and her knowledge of his name befuddles him. He should be interrogating her, demand answers as to how she knows of his identity however, the fact that she seems to be interested in him outweighs any other thought.
His face mantles and long pretty lashes framing his foxy eyes flutter at his flustered rapid blinking. âY-you have?â
She nods her head and heâs never seen someone conduct a simple action so gracefully, especially so with that sweet smile that resides on her face. âI think youâre a very noble man, Sunoo. To leave your friends as they fall victim to their insatiable desires⊠You are different.â
Sunoo is uncertain what it is about her words, but they always squeeze his heart as butterflies emerge in his stomach. And those gorgeous eyesâŠthe bat of her lashes as she looks up at him, the unwavering tenderness in her gaze and undivided attentionâitâs unalike any of the many, many heâs received in his life.
He wants more. He wants her. And if acting as a righteous, refined young lord is what it takes to ensnare her, he can play the role for as much as he needs to.
âIt must be cold, isnât itâto wear such a thin dress in this night breeze?â He begins and wears a beguiling smile that never fails to swoon those around him. âIf you donât mind, would you allow me to gift you with a few warm coats and dresses?â
The maiden shakes her head as she turns away. âIt is fine. There is no place for me to put them, anyways.â
At this, the nobleâs brows raise. âDo youâŠnot have a place to stay?â
Her silence confirms his suspicion and as vile as it is, a sense of relief and delight fill him. An opportunity strikes.
Suppressing the urge to let his smile tilt to a cunning smirk, she asks the girl.
âThen, would you like to stay in my residence for the time being? There are plenty of rooms to offer and I would not mind the companyâŠif you will have me.â
The other lifts her head to him and the expression on her face already tells him of her decisionâwidening his grin.
â
âHe ditched us without a single notice and now heâs disappeared for a whole 2 weeks cooped up in his home?? Thatâs awfully suspicious, wouldnât you think so?â Jongseomg clicks his tongue harshly, both annoyed and worried for one of their youngest as he stomps up the formerâs grand staircase.
Being friends with one another has its perks, one of them being that they donât require to send letters to inform them of their visitsâtheir doors always open to each other.
âMaybe heâs been occupied with all his lessons? He told me heâs been slacking,â Jaeyun tries to assuage the olderâs frustration but his only response is ignorance.
Five figures trail behind him and their paces fasten when they reach Sunooâs floor. Their soles brushing against the squeaky clean tiles create rushed, dissonant shuffles and footsteps.
But before they can venture further down the corridor to his room, theyâre forced to a halt at an unfamiliar sightâor to be exact, an unfamiliar person.
Slipping out of her room is a girl accoutred in a silk white dress that shimmers softly at every sway, its fabric hugging her chest, following the shape of her bosom down to her waist while its long skirt flows down in freelyâallowing for as much stretch of her legs as she wishes.
Butterfly sleeves hide a majority of her upper arms with a sheer fabric layering the silk, creating a more sophisticated and elegant form. Her further adornments consist of a snowy gold bustier corset top to accentuate her frame while the frills that are sewn onto its upper edge give the illusion of being a part of the butterfly sleevesâmaking it seem as if sheâs wearing an off-shoulder dress.
Her ensemble is an immaculate combination of extravagance and yet gracefulness. Whoever made it is surely an exquisite tailor.
Although, the 6 young men would know nothing about it considering theyâre not able to dwell on her dress as theyâre too busy gawking at the ethereal damsel that stands before them. Theyâve seen many women beforeâsome even doing more than seeingâand yet, theyâre confident to declare that theyâve never seen one quite like her.
Sheâs breathtaking in a way where itâs inhuman. As if sheâs an extraterrestrial beingâor a creature of myth that tends to lure unprotected, vulnerable men like they are at the moment just to bring them to their demise.
A lethal beauty.
Unlike them however, (y/n) merely shifts her glance between them just to identify. Not once does her eyes widen and sparkle nor do her cheeks flush from the fluster of meeting such unrealistically gorgeous young men who can instantly bring anyoneâand anythingâbelow their feet.
â(y/n), why did youâOh,â Sunoo soundsâtone shifting from curious to blunt indifference.
His presence that exits from the same chamber (y/n) emerged from instantly rouse suspicion and intrigue in his friends.
Jaeyun scoffs. âSo, this is what this was all about? Youâve found yourself a woman and decide that youâd rot in your mansion with herâneglecting your own friends?â
Sunoo frowns as he shields (y/n) from their prying, scrutinizing eyes. He was never one to really care about their reprimands. âNeglect? Itâs not like youâre all under my care. Iâm not your parent who needs to coddle you.â
âKim Sunoo, you know that isnât what we mean,â Heeseung rebukes, a sharp and fierce glare on his otherwise doe eyes. âYou vanished for 2 weeks with not a single word!â
âDo I need to inform you of my activities?â The younger hisses with his own eyes whetting and things would have escalated from the fire growing in the two if it isnât for (y/n) placing a hand against her hostâs arm.
His glower softens almost immediately as he shifts his focus onto the girlâhis instant sickening his friends.
(y/n)âs voice is gentle, airy like the morning breeze as well as clear and alluring like the glistens of the water surface from the shining moonlightâcharming one to stay and watch the waters glitter.
Or in terms of voice, seducing one to not just remain and hear but listenâjust as how they all fall into an unanimous quiet.
âShould I leave?" She asks, shocking Sunoo terribly as dread fills him. The idea itself is horrifying. "It seems I might have overstayed my welcome."
Sunoo shakes his head vigorously. "No, no! Don't leave! IâThey are just being rude, they know nothing."
His frantic behaviour that drips with desperation is both amusing and astonishing to his friends who have never seen him act so...pathetic before. He's always been the embodiment of sophistication, of grace to the point that it's boastful at times.
(y/n) looks up at him nervously, her brows tilted with worry. "Butâ"
"(y/n)," her host cuts her off as he cups her cheek, thumb caressing her skin tenderly. "Don't fret, hm? This is all just a small argument between my friends and I. Why don't you go back in and practice the new piece I taught you?"
Seeing no reason to refute, the girl nods and returns to the room she exited from with quiet nimble footsteps.
Sunoo's gaze that was warm and endearing turns frigid and stern the moment she disappears and he turns his head to his friends. "I'm not going to entertain this useless bicker between us so I suggest we digress. Leave, stay, I don't care what you do as long as you don't disturb us again. (y/n) is my guest and she will remain here for as long I will her and none of you are to defy that."
With one last warning glare, he turns away to join (y/n) whose melodious play can be hear from the momentary opening of the door before Sunoo slams it shut.
A deafening silence overtakes until Jaeyun clears his throat.
"You heard what he said so who's up for an impromptu sleepover?" He suggests with a playful, wide grin as he wiggles his dark brows at the others.
â
It's so fun being powerful. They can make anything happen with a flick of the wrist or a snap of their fingers. With just a simple order from them, those around them easily obligeâeager to execute every command. Just how they need not to lift a finger while their servants back home are panickedârushing to pack clothes and other necessities for their young masters who so suddenly sent a letter informing them of their plans of staying at Master Sunoo's abode.
Jongseong scoffs as he recalls his maids and butlers running from the gates the moment their carriage arrived and pretending to be all calm and collected as they stood in front of himâas if their skin wasn't glistening with sweat and breaths weren't heavy as they pant.
Knock, knock!
He furrows at the abrupt interruption of his reminiscence and sits up on the bed to face the door. "Who is it?"
"It's (y/n)," the entrancing voice from before promptly straightens his posture as he springs onto his feet.
Clearing his throat and neatening his shirt while approaching the door, he abruptly halts at the ridiculousness of his own behaviour. Why is he trying to impress a poor, insignificant girl anyways? He already heard the talk from the servants on how Sunoo randomly brought her home while she was still in her rags and completely barefoot.
"What is it?" He utters with a heavy sigh as soon as he opens the door.
"Would you like some tea? I made it myself," (y/n) asks with a hopeful mien, eyes sparkling and lips in a small smile.
The other cocks up a brow skeptically. "You know how to brew tea?"
"I watched," she answers, deepening his skepticism.
Another long, unamused sigh leaves him. "Just get in."
She enters cheerily and sets down the tray on his little tea table while watches behind with arms crossed and gaze sharp.
âI thought it would be a nice welcome. Sunoo taught me that itâs good etiquette,â (y/n) says as she pours him a cup of warm tea with calculated, precise movementsâshocking him, to be honestâand placing it down in front of him without a single tremor. âI hope you find it to your liking.â
Jongseong scoffs at his futile wish. Heâs one of the most picky when it comes to his mealsâalways thinking none of is good enough and that includes how he enjoys his tea.
He had to personally teach his servants how to brew and how much sugar to be used to actually make one fitting his palate and even then, they still canât satisfy him.
After a few gentle blows to cool down the hot drink, he brings the brim of the cup to his lips for his first sip and once again, receives another surprise. ItâsâŠsplendid. Such aroma and perfect balance between tea and sugar that spreads perfectly on his tongue and warming him from the insideâakin to sitting in front of the hearth during winter.
He lifts his gaze to meet with (y/n)âs as he lags to utter the words in his headâall of them jumbled from both disbelief and yet, amazement. âHow did you make this? Itâs exactly as how I prefer it to be.â
âIâŠum, I actually asked your servant beforehand on how you typically enjoy your tea,â (y/n) timidly answers as she stares at her fiddling fingers on her lap. âI apologize for not asking you myself and instead, intruding on your privacy.â
Strangely, he doesnât mind very much although usually he would find it offensive that someone is investigating him through his servants. Instead, he finishes the rest of his tea before passing to her on its small plate. âPour me some more.â
His request rekindles a discernible light onto her face as she physically perks upâeyes upturning and corners of her lips curling as she obliges. And Jongseong canât help but admit that she looksâŠadorable.
For him to be able to control her mood with a few words or actions, he finds it amusing and truly lovableâso much so that he doesnât notice how much time has passed with her sharing her experience living at the mansion while he merely sits and listen with a gentle smile retained on her face.
Only when the room darkens to the point the cups in front of them are almost unseen and their faces are shadowed does he finally, take note of the time.
âOh! Iâve taken too much of your time. I should leave now,â (y/n) exclaims with alarm as she rushes to her feet while collecting all their cups and biscuits back onto the silver tray. With hands on her stomach, she then bows at Jongseong respectfully, bidding him goodbye before she lifts the tray and out she goes.
The lone man remains in his room as his servant enters to light the candles and lamps before leaving him to his own devices.
As much as he enjoys the silence, he never knew how lonely it can beâŠuntil today.
Strolling through the corridor is (y/n) whoâs reminiscing her conversation with her guest before and a smile stretches itself onto her face. A glint sparks in her eye and a passing Sunghoon espies the ambiguous expression she wears but she disappears down the stairs quickly, ridding him of the opportunity to observe more.
His luxuriant dark brows knit in wonder as he returns to his room.
â
The next day is just like any other for (y/n)âawaking at the sounds of cheery chirping birds, freshening up with the help of her designated servants and getting dressed with the outfit of her choice before she leaves to have her daily etiquette lesson with Sunoo.
One might think sheâs the lady of the house from the way sheâs treated by the staff and to even be privately tutored by the young master himselfâthatâs the grandest, most gracious gesture heâs ever done for anyone at all.
But to think sheâs only a nobody picked up from the street, itâs a cultural shock to others.
âGood morning, Sunoo,â (y/n) greets Sunoo whoâs already waiting for her on the windowsill as he stares at the sunny view outside. âWill we pick up from yesterdayâs lesson?â
The noble lad turns to her, his eyes already scintillating with adoration as he approaches her with long, calculated steps. âHow about we take a break today? The day is beautiful outside.â
His suggestion excites the other who nods vigorously and he giggles with contentmentâhand reaching up to fix her hair and trailing his fingers to the side of her face to warmly press his palm against it.
Electrifying tingles bloom in his chest when she reciprocates his affection by leaning against his hand, her eyes shutting briefly before they open to look up at him.
Sunoo feels his breath hitch. She always does this to him. Every single time. He initiates the intimacy and yet at the end heâs the one breathless and desperate for more, craving for her touch and wanting her to want him just as he does to her.
âIâll tell the servants to prepare you favourite pastries and tea. Wait for me in the garden veranda, hm?â
She nods and he reluctantly slips his hand away, leaving him feeling cold and bare as he yearns for her warmth and comfort once more.
(y/n) casually makes her way to the garden, humming one of the sweet melodies Sunoo taught her to play on the piano as she ambles.
An air of peace and joy encompasses her, disregarding the predatory eyes that ominously tracks her every move from behind a tall bush. His hand rests on the side of the prickly leaves as he stalks the naive prey.
His tongue darts out to wet his bottom lip as a sardonic smirk reveals itself when he sees her stop at the verandaâtaking his first step towards her.
âI thought you had lessons,â Heeseung begins and the girl spins on her heels.
Her brows twitch upwards subtly at his unexpected presence. âYes, I was supposed to. But Sunoo thought it was better to enjoy the sunny weather today.â
ââSunoo?ââ The male repeats, intrigued by the fact that sheâs on a first-name basis with the oh, so majestic Kim Sunoo. He scoffsâthough, not of demeaning nature. âI see you address him using casual terms. Will it be improper of me to ask you to do the same for me?â
(y/n) tilts her head, puzzled and he continues.
âLee Heeseung, that is my name. But you will just call me Heeseung.â
Her lips form an âoâ in understanding before she beams brightlyâfingers pinching the sides of her skirt to slightly lift them up and perform a curtsy. âIt is a pleasure to know you, Heeseung. My name is (y/n).â
âJust (y/n)? No family name?â Heeseung furrows. He knows her origins are obscure but he expected her to at least, be aware of the name of her kin. However, the nod of her head answers his curiosity. And somehowâŠhe favours her even more because of it. âIâve been told on how Sunoo found you near the edge of the red district unaccompanied and lost. It must have been terrifying.â
The girlâs gaze travels down to her shoes before back up at him, unsure of what to say. âWellâŠâ
Heeseung translates her uncertainty as meekness howeverâa sign of vulnerabilityâand heâs more than glad to be the pillar of her strength if it meant sheâll lean onto him. âYou can tell me anything, (y/n). Iâll be there whenever you need someone to talk to.â
His hands gather hers before he clasps them together, swallowing them completely and a shaky breath escapes him at the sight. With eyes swirling with ambition, he looks into hers with feign empathyâdoe eyes feigning innocence and goodwill as he closes the distance between them.
âWill you let me? (y/n)?â He askâno, pleads, almost as he continues his pretense of a selfless hero. He lowers himself to a slight extent as to not intimidate her by looming over her completely though, it fives not much of a difference. His frame still shadows away the sun from her anyways, leaving her with dim lighting as sheâs nearly caged by him.
The maiden smiles softly before nodding although remaining quiet and Heeseung immediately lets out a breath of relief. For a moment there, her stillness seemed to suggest rejection but she must have merely been nervous.
âWhy are you acting so benevolent suddenly?â
Her question takes him aback and he stammers, âP-pardon?â
His gaze falls from her face to their hands when she slowly slips hers out to rest them onto his larger onesâthumb softly drawing circles onto his skin which brings desirable shivers down his spine.
âI know how you are. Iâve seen you. Committing all those criminal acts, indulging yourself in dirty riches and greedy gambles as you find pleasure in women that you deem worthless thus, undeserving of any care or compassionâand neither do you give any compensation for those that youâve treated with injustice,â (y/n) speaks with an eloquence that leaves no room for debate. She isnât just reiterating all those rumours she might have heard but she is fully cognizant of every word she speaks, of every allegation that they are nothing but truths.
Heeseung is struck by a turmoil of emotions: displeased and offended by her unvarnished tongue yet at the same time wonderstruck by her character that completely goes against his initial impression.
âYouâŠ! I thought you were of low origins? You should not be aware of anything regarding the aristocracy!â Heeseung hisses as he snatches his hands back in attempt to conceal his disconcerted demeanor.
But (y/n) retains her sangfroid as she lets her arms relax onto her sides. With a pretty smile gracing her pretty face, her lips part to speak pretty, pretty words.
âIf your genteel veneer is merely a pathetic attempt to lure me, then Iâd very much prefer it if you were to bare your teeth and spit your venom into my tea,â she says in a whispery tune, just enough for both him and her to hear. She then lifts her hand up to trail her feathery touches down from his neck to his chestâparalyzing him as he shudders with unashamed titillation.
His eyelids fluttering and breath hitching as she smirks deviously, an image even Sunoo has yet to be graced with.
A kittenish giggle escapes her and the sound of it ignites himâhair rising and pants tightening especially when she pulls him down by the nape to whisper.
âBecause at least then, you might have the chance to ensnare me with your sincere wickedness rather than your feeble, futile attempt to be a saint,â she snaps and he groans at the feel of her lips lightly grazing the shell of his ear before she pushes him away. âSunoo will be here soon. I suggest you leave.â
Poor Heeseungâs head is much too dazed and fogged to respond as he drunkenly drags himself away with a painful throb in his lower region and skin flushed red as he replays his moment with her again and again in his head.
(y/n) is a pretty woman, the most gorgeous he has ever laid eyes uponâbut she is as lethal as she is beautiful. And what unraveled just minutes ago shows him that she is so much more capable than what she seems. This is mere childâs play.
And he wants to know everything about her.
â
âBut young master, this amount may be overwhelming for the villagers. Some of them may not be able to afford this,â Yoo, Sunooâs aide, voices his concerns after receiving the list of demands from the noble.
Nevertheless, Sunoo remains quiet as his eyes sharpen at the sheet he vigorously writes onâburning the letters with his fervent glare. âThey live and conduct their business on our property thus, itâs only fair that they should comply with our rules and commands.â
âHowever, this is too sudden! Would it not be best for you to grant them a period of time to prepare their payment?â
âFather has instructed me to collect a certain amount during his leave and although I do admit that I have been negligent in fulfilling his wishes, it is justified as I have more priorities to tend to.â
The aide bites his tongue from blurting out a name at his masterâs mention of âpriorities.â Clearly, his priorities areâis, actually, (y/n) alone.
From tutoring her personally to spoiling her with endless jewels and clothingâeven calling over one of the most renowned tailor in townâand spending his day and nights with her behind closed door doing what ever it is they are doing.
Yoo doesnât blame (y/n), of course. If anything, he thinks she has been one of the sweetest characters he has ever been graced with. However, he canât deny that she is a great distraction to his master.
âYoung master Sunooââ He attempts to begin another argument.
âAide Yoo,â Sunoo abruptly interrupts with his voice only slightly raised but the lowness of its pitch thatâs inordinate for one whoâs typically said to be akin sunshine causes the other to tremble. He gulps as his face blanches with fright.
The noble gently puts his quill down but his following acts are anything butâwith a gaze so banefully intent that threatens to almost kill, he perturbs the assistant. âIt seems you are mistaken. Iâve passed that document to you not to hear your thoughts but for you to simply relay it to the village. What is so difficult for you to comprehend?â
âI-I was only trying to help, my lord.â
âWell, itâs futile and in all honesty, irritating. Now leave for (y/n) will be arriving soonâand by then, no one is permitted to enter my study,â Sunoo commands with a hiss to which the aide instantly bows at before scurrying out.
He shuts the door behind him as quiet as possible but nearly screams his lungs out at the sight of (y/n) whoâs standing by the entrance. â(y-y/n), Master Sunoo is waiting for you.â
With another small bend at the waist, Yoo dashes away to promptly finish his assignment and the girl slips into the chamber.
Seeing her is like a breath of fresh air for Sunoo and he instantly rises to his feet before rushing to the maidenâseizing her into his arms and laying his head against her crown.
â(y/n), my lovely (y/n)âŠâ He mumbles and the other says nothing, only patting his back in a slow, calming rhythmâits sensation quietening the loud noises in his stressful mind. âCome.â
She follows obediently, letting herself be lead to the couches before he sits them both down. After straightening her gown for her, Sunoo coils his arms below her waist and lays his head against his chestâlistening to her heartbeat as if itâs a lullaby.
A small smile graces his face as his breaths slow to relax.
(y/n) gazes down at him momentarily, trailing down his features and tracing their shapes before turning her head to his overfilled desk with its surface covered in sheets after sheets of documents. Heâs slacked far too much to spend his time with (y/n).
And the knowledge of that brings a content smile to her face. She has him right where she wants him.
âBusy?â She asks quietly, almost in a whisper to not interrupt the tranquility that encases them.
Sunoo nods, bottom lip sticking out unconsciously at the reminder of his despair. âFather is returning in two weeks. I have many works to settle before then.â
(y/n) hums in acknowledgment as her fingers begin to comb through his dark brown locks, causing pleasurable tugs onto his scalp and he almost purrs in delightânuzzling more against her bosom as he raises slightly to feel more of her touch. âMy poor Sunoo.â
A love arrow straight to his heart.
Sheâs accepted him. Sheâs regarded him as hers. It was always him to express his affections, him to initiate the meetings and now, sheâs finally welcomed him into her world. Oh, how blessed does he feel. Suddenly, all that pile of work on his desk doesnât seem so dauntingâhis being now buzzing with bliss.
And (y/n) certainly knows that. From the way his smile widens, apple of his cheeks glow in a rosy hue and eyes visibly upturned even while shut, heâs overjoyed. Using her other hand, she begins to outline the features of his soft, angelic visage, mourning at the fact that heâs not as sweet as he looks. Still, sheâs grown quite attached.
â(y/n),â he calls suddenly. She hums in response, urging him to continue. âWhat am I to you?â
Itâs this question. Itâs not frequent but some of her previous victims have too, inquired her the same and with each, she answers differently. An answer she knows has to be believable, not too exaggerated but not too humble and yet impactful enough to occupy his head and ring in his earsâhypnotizing them to believe her fondness of them is sincere.
And for Sunoo, itâs simply too easy.
âYouâre my saviour,â she purrs and the allure of her voice upends the hair on his skin and his body quivers ever so slightly as eyes flutter open with surprise and yet, admiration. The pounding of his heart only heightens at the sight of her already looking at him with the most endearing smile cast on her lovely countenanceâeyes swirling with an ambiguity but nevertheless, warmth for him.
His own stare softens, melting into hers as they search her face for any hint of falsityârejoicing internally upon seeing none and his body lifts to place his plush lips on hers for the briefest of moments.
And yet that single second felt like heaven to him.
The feel of her bare skin against his mouth ignites a desire in him he never knew he had, overtaking his senses and ridding him of every thoughtâthe heavy longing for her growing with every breath wasted not having her and it festers inside him, eating away so quickly he feels he might shrivel and perish.
But he canât yield to itânot now. He might scare (y/n) away, especially after her confessing her heart, professing to him of her trust and devotion by calling him her hero, her knight in shining armor. He might ruin his chances before he even completely captures her heart.
He titters at the surprise painted on the girlâs face and he lifts his hand to caress her cheek with the gentlest of touches. âAnd I shall be for as long as you wish.â
â
âThe fish tell me youâre an exquisite skater.â
Sunghoonâs brows knit as he turns to face the owner of the lullingâyet, with a touch of mischiefâvoice. âThe fish?â
She nods and directs her gaze to the large man-made pond at which he crouches beside. âThey tell me you tend to skate here when the water freezes over as you find yours at your own home not as freeing.â
The noble readies to stand but decides against it when the girl joins his sideâmindless of the ends of her dress that drape onto the grass as she gazes longingly at the water. âIs that so? What else do these fish tell you?â
(y/n) smiles, as if amused that he seeks to know more despite the ridiculousness of her statements. As an underwater creature, it is a norm for her to speak to marine life but the same canât be said for a creature of land. âThat you possess an extravagant beauty among your kind.â
At this, a corner of his lips twitch to a smirk of intrigue. âAnd? What do you say?â
Her stare shifts to the manâs reflection cast onto the still waterâs surface. âI wouldnât say Iâm against it.â
Her indirect yet direct admission of his beauty makes his smirk widen into a grin and he too, turns to look at the pond.
âWhat a shame. A beautiful woman and yet, disturbed by her own insanity,â he thinks and exhales through his nose. But the smile on his face doesnât falter. âWell, she isnât completely useless.â
Of all the women Sunghoon has shared his bed with, none are comparable to the woman who now sits a mere forearmâs length away from him. If he plays things right, he might be able to have her tonight.
âSo you think Iâm handsome?â He asks boldly and (y/n) nods but still keeps her attention to the small fish swimming. âThen, why donât you look at me?â
His question prompts her to do exactly thatâto look at himâand sheâs abruptly met with his deep gaze boring into hers. He smiles at her obedience. âTell me, what you like about me.â
For a moment, a silence encases the two with the exception of the occasional chirps of birds and faint rustles of the flora dancing into one another with the help of the wind.
She's attentive towards him, eyes fixed on his face and although Sunghoon knows that she's only finding the answer to his question, he can't help but feel slightly abashedâtips of his ears turning red as his apple bobs in his throat from the fluster.
"You remind me of winter," (y/n) finally responds and he blinks, nearly missing her answer if it isn't for her tilting her head at the notice of his straying mind.
He clears his throat to gather his voice. "Are you a fan of the season?"
"I suppose. The cold and snow refreshes me in comparison to hot, drying summer," the girl explains briefly and once again turns away to look at the pondâmaking him frown.
The lack of attention from her is beginning to vex him. What's so interesting about a pond and its small swimming fish? Obviously, nothing muchâespecially with the Park Sunghoon existing in the same space. He's far more eye-catching and valuable than a pool of water.
He retains his composure however, knowing that he can't lose his head if he wants to succeed in his objective. "You must be good friends with the fish seeing as how you're so engrossed by them."
His comment earns him a soft chuckle and he'd be lying if he said the saccharine sound doesn't placate him. The twinkle in his eyes and fangs peeking from below his top lip as he smiles are telltale signs.
"You're so silly. I was more of looking at the water. My close fish friends are at sea anyways," she answers truthfully but Sunghoon believes it as another one of her crazy talk.
And in order to win her heart, he chooses to entertain them. "Must be lovely to have friends from so many places. I take it that they're very cordial?"
The girl nods and her face suddenly lights up as her figure perks. Sunghoon watches with puzzlement as she reaches into a seamlessly hidden pocket at the side of her dress before pulling out her fist and offering it to the noble.
One of the latter's dark, luxuriant brows arches with skepticismâthat is, until she uncurls her fingers to reveal the three irregularly shaped pearls resting on her palm.
Even when they're not in perfect circles, they are still priceless and beautifulâwhite coats carrying a pearly sheen that shines at every light and the rawness of their forms create an exquisite uniqueness that Sunghoon has never seen on any other jewel. An inestimable grandeur.
"I received these from my friends but now that I see them, I feel that they would be in much better hands in yours," (y/n) claims as she gently places the three orbs onto his opened palm. Eyes upturned and smile bright, she looks at him with an apparent eagerness. "With such smooth porcelain skin, you seem to be a pearl yourself."
Sunghoon is unable to retort a witty remark, nor can he muster a scoffâcaptivated by the girl as he admires her limitless geniality. How can one be so unconditionally kind and sweet to a naive extent? To casually grant one with prized possessions simply because she thought they would look better on him. It's foolishâand yet, he finds it so foolishly lovable.
Stretching his lips to a smile, he's finally able to let out a small chuckle. "Are you sure your friends won't be upset with you by giving these to me?"
(y/n) shakes her head and standsâhands dusting her skirt and straightening it before she turns towards the mansion.
"How are you sure?" Sunghoon asks once more as he too, rises to his feet and now towering over the other.
The latter titters and brings her hands behind her back, clasping them together as she begins her amble. "Because I ate them."
It's like every single gear in his head has stopped and all senses numbed apart from his hearing as her voiceâher answer echoes in his ears like an enchantment.
'She...ate them?' He mentally thinks and yet, instead of feeling horrified or even mildly perturbed, the hunger he's felt since before only growsâbubbling and boiling in his stomach up to his chest and throat as it urges him to just seize the defenseless girl in front of him.
To paint her skin with his tongue and relishing in her taste, coating every surface with his moisture before sinking his teeth and leaving conspicuous dents of his fangs as to mark her, warning any other who dares to approach. He craves to own her, to make her his and his alone and have her sing and scream his name so frequently that it becomes the only word she knowsâto be the only one she recognizes.
Oh, how terribly starved he is for her.
"Are you not returning? The sky will darken soon," the girl asks as she twirls to him slightlyâskirt swaying and hair flowing in the wind before she tucks it behind her ear to reveal her face. Her pure eyes staring curiously at him as she awaits his answer.
Sunghoon gulps, both mind and heart turning erratic as he struggles to remain composed and stoic despite his flawless performance throughout the years.
"Sunghoon?"
He throbs with need at the sound of her voice calling his name and his lashes flutter from his shaking lids, dazed and mesmerized by just a simple gesture from her before he nods his head with a stutter.
A gone man.
â
Jaeyun melts into (y/n)âs hands that play with his hairâbraiding and twirling the dark locks with her fingers, delivering delicious, gentle tugs onto his crownâand his eyes are shut tight as he relishes in the feeling.
It all happened so quickly, unexpectedly, for him and (y/n) to become close. All it took was him loitering in the garden one afternoon from boredom and (y/n) inviting him to join her lone picnic. He accepted, seeing as he had nothing else worthwhile to do but he didnât expect anything from the activity.
He thought it would be mediocre at best. After all, what else is there to do aside from sipping warm tea and munching on fresh fancy-filled sandwiches? And he canât even do anything âexcitingâ with (y/n) being so out in the open.
And yet, after a few minutes in, Jaeyun was filled with a sense of tranquility and comfort that heâs never felt before.
He was embraced by a warm sense of home and relaxation, one that entirely limps his body and empties his mind that makes him believe the respite heâs had all this time before are poor excuses. Thereâs just something about (y/n), something that makes him feel so casually free and blissfulâeven while doing nothing and justâŠreveling in each otherâs presence.
Just like now.
â(y/n),â Jaeyun starts quietly as he leans his head against the pillow she put on her lap for his ease since heâs sitting on the carpeted floor and her on the couch. âHow would you like to stay at my residence for some time?â
The girlâs motions freeze entirely and that one simple act instantly makes him straighten his back as eyes shoot open, alarmed and anxious.
â(y/n)?â He calls again, shaky, as he spins on his seat, looking up at her with eyes pleading for an answer to her abrupt change. What was it? Did his invitation offend her? Does she think that his offer is with salacious intent? It wonât be a surprise if she did. Did his reputation precede him and affected her view of him without him knowing?
The noise in his head quietens as she begins to speak.
âNo, itâs nothing. Itâs justâŠI donât plan on leaving Sunoo, Jaeyun,â (y/n) softly declares as her fingers brush the fallen strands of his hair away from his eyes. His doe eyes blink up at her nervously as his brows raise and angle downwards at the end, an adorable expression for an atrocious man.
Jaeyun gently holds her hand just as it begins to retract. âBut, why? It wonât be for long. Just for a brief, even a visit! Youâll love it there, Iâm sure of it.â
âSunoo wonât like that,â the girl rejects again with a soft shake of her head. âHeâs my saviour, Jaeyun. He was the one who brought me to his home and cared for me. Iâd hate to go against him in any way.â
For the first time in forever, Jaeyun loathes himself for having fun. If only he wasnât so drunk and occupied with the pleasures of the red light district, he mightâve been the one to find her. He mightâve been the one to welcome her in his home and is able to covet her freely without fear or concern for anyone else.
Because then, he would be the one to own her. The one whom sheâs tethered to, just as how she is with Sunoo.
He furrows, frustration imbuing.
âBut recently, I have been a bit worried,â she says suddenly and this pulls the otherâs attention back to her. âI overheard him last time discussing with his aide regarding the collection of tax. And I know, I know itâs for the greater good butâŠI canât help wondering if his aideâs words run truer than I hope.â
âWhat do you mean?â Jaeyun asks, now fully focused as he sees an opportunity to cease her concern, to be her knight in shining armour. His hand squeezes hers assuringly, prompting her to spill the words in her head.
She sighs in defeat. âHis aide said that the amount of tax might be too overwhelming for the people, but Sunoo said it was urgent and that nothing could be done.â
Jaeyun restrains from scoffing out loud. He knows that the only reason their host is rushing with the collection is because he had been slacking.
âIâm aware that there must be a reason why heâs putting such great pressure on the villagers but I fret,â (y/n) confesses and meets his eyes, making his heart skip a beat. âDo you think theyâll be alright?â
This is it. His moment.
He smiles and shifts to sit on his heels before clasping both her hands in his. His thumbs draw soothing circles below her knuckles. âIf it may bring you some sort of comfort, we can go to the village.â
The rekindled sparks in her eyes bring him more joy than he ever thought they could and he unconsciously wears a grin as his tender gaze is transfixed on her.
âWe can?â
âNo. To be honest, no. Not without Sunoo losing his marbles,â he thinks but his smiling eyes say otherwise.
âOf course.â
â
CRASH!
âWhere is she?? FIND HER!â Sunoo shrieks with unbridled wrath as he tightly grips (y/n)âs dress in his fist. Shards of white adorned with prettily painted flowers scatter the sparkling floor from the tea set he hurled towards the wall.
His aide flinches at his piercing scream and gathers his hands together in fear while maids hurry to clean the mess. âW-weâre trying our best, my lord.â
âDo her servants have no clue where she went?â Sunoo snaps as fox eyes sharpen more than they ever have and Yoo shakes his head vigorously. âI shouldâve assigned her those guards but I didnât as I was afraid sheâd get uncomfortable. Foolish! Idiot!â
Yoo and the other staff around shudder violently, terrified of what their master will do. They have never seen him be so cross and upsetâbecause he has never been this emotional before. But ever since (y/n) entered his life, theyâve seen many changes in their employer.
âYoung lord! Weâve brought a servant who said he saw (y/n) before her disappearance!â A guard declares after performing a respectful bow and enters the chamber alongside his colleague with a shivering slim boy held tightly between them.
Sunooâs glare shifts to the poor staff member and only then does Yoo feel like he can breatheâstumbling slightly as his abrupt inhale nearly knocks his balance.
âSpeak,â the noble orders lowly and the worker gulps harshly.
âI-I saw her in the garden with M-Master Jaeyun. The two were unaccompanied which w-was odd but I thought they were merely enjoying a stroll so IâŠI said nothing.â
SMACK! THUD!
Gasps erupt from the other servants while hands fly to cover their mouth, taken aback. Widened eyes glance at the noble before they quickly avert them, horrified at the thought of the repercussions if they are caught.
The fallen boy remains ashamed and hurt on the ground while holding the stinging pain against his cheek from Sunooâs abrasive slap.
âThat accursed Jaeyun hyungâŠâ He curses below his breath before turning around, a motion everyone is grateful for as they watch him sit on the missing girlâs bed. He stares at the expensive silk in his hand before running his other against the soft sheets of her mattress. His inordinately unfeeling gaze casts onto her pillow as he smiles at the imagery of her slumbering peacefully but it vanishes as quickly as it forms. âGo to the village. I have a feeling that they might be thereâŠâ
His orders are absoluteâall necessary figures quickly departing to execute his demand while the servants hastily leave him to the comfort of his own presence, hoping he will simmer down.
Sunoo lays on her bed and buries himself underneath her blanketâbasking in her scent and lingering warmth as he clutches her dress against his chest. His head turns into her fluffy, soft pillow and lets his lips brush against the cool fabric as a woeful whimper sounds.
He misses her. He wishes to see her. To touch her and embrace her and be graced with her presence, be spoiled in her unconditional affections. He yearns for her. He needs her.
He canât live without her.
Knock, knock.
He doesnât respond to the sound, expecting the visitor to take their leave so when the door swings open, heâs quick to recover to a sitting position as a glower forms.
âWho dareâSunghoon hyung?â Confusion laces the youngerâs tone as the said noble moseys into the room. âWhatâs so urgent for you to disrupt my private time?â
A scoff emits from the older as his thick, defined brow cocks up with intrigue. âPrivate time in (y/n)âs room? Seems scandalous, is it not?â
His mockery ticks him off and Sunoo stands, letting go of the girlâs dress in the process. âIf you have nothing worthwhile to say, leave.â
Sunghoon raises his hands to his chest in surrender. âCalm. I was merely trying to lighten the mood.â
The youngerâs silence and intensifying glare should be enough as a hint to leave and yet, he still chooses to stay.
âPlease, the matter I am to discuss with you is regarding (y/n). Iâm certain that youâd like to know.â
The other perks.
âIâve noticed that she doesnât seem to be quiteâŠfortified in the head. There seems to be a few screws loose,â Sunghoon says slowly and the younger nobleâs silence compels him to continue. âSo I was going to suggest a proper facility for her to perhaps, fix her. A new institute has recently opened up near by home and Iâve heard of their excellent treatmentsâalways proving to be effective and the staff are cordial and capable.â
Feeling proud of himself, Sunghoon grins brightly as he expectantly rubs his hands together behind his back. Of course, his âhelpfulâ suggestion is a mere excuse. After Sunoo drops her off to the institute, Sunghoon will only collect her and have her stay in his abodeâto be his once and for all.
Sunoo isnât dumb, heâs bound to be suspicious but among all of them, he is also known to be one of the nicest despite his stand-offish attitude. Heâll accept Sunghoonâs proposal if it meant better lifestyle for (y/n).
But perhaps, heâs become too naive, too complacent and confident to realise that his friendâs affections for (y/n) has run deeper than he bargained for. An affection so strong that it borders with obsession.
The sound of the youngerâs scoff pulls Hoon away from his reverie and his dark brows knit at him. âSo, you too?â
âPardon?â Sunghoon sounds, visibly confused and Sunoo stands before striding towards him with a mien, solemn, and gaze, frigid.
âFirst it was Jaeyun, and now you. Itâs laughable how any of you think that you can steal (y/n) away from me,â the host scoffs, a cynical smirk on his face and he tilts his head up to him. "I think it is wise for you to leave my abode at this moment, and never set foot in it until I permit you to."
Sunghoon's luxuriant brows knit as his panicked eyes flicker between the other's, deeply shocked by his abrupt verdict. Seeing the inordinate hostility in his golden eyes and the taut fists trembling on his sides from his restraint, it is as if he no longer recognizes. As if they are distant strangers.
His words are caught in his throat, horrified at the young's unforeseen aggression and thankfully, he needs not to respond as the rapidly approaching clamour and discordance of sabatons against tiles.
Like an alarmed lemur, Sunoo's head snaps to the door instantly as eyes widen with anticipation right as his guards enter while flanking (y/n) and Jake. Relief washes over him, shoulders falling and corners of his lips curling as he pulls the girl away from his men's holds.
"(y/n)! I thought you left me. I was so worried," Sunoo sighs into her hair as he embraces her tightyâa scandalous gesture for unwed figures and yet, none dare to refute. He expects to be reciprocated, to feel her own limbs wrap around his torso with warmth yet instead, he's pushed an arm's length away and is greeted by a face scrunched with pure franticness and concern.
"Sunoo, it isn't his fault! It was my idea, truly! I was the one who encouraged the escapade. Not Jaeyun!" She pleads for mercyânot to grant it to her, but to Jake. And it irks Sunoo, so so much to an extent where he wishes for the older lad's demise.
He casts his focus to the said man, eyes that were previously soft and cordial turning sharp and beady like those of a serpent's as he calmly approaches the apprehended noble. "Jake."
The lack of honorifics shocks the latter who's so accustomed to the other addressing him with respectâeven if they were to be in a friendly banter, Sunoo never forgets their proper labels as he thinks of dignity very highly.
Which meant that right now, Jaeyun is very, truly, undeniably fucâ
"Just as I have said to Sunghoon, you are to pack your bags and to never dare to approach my property in any circumstance. And this order is to remain until I, myself, revoke it," he hisses his words that are laced with venom. Glare fixed solely on the man whose face blanched upon understanding his command.
That would mean he can never see (y/n) again. He can't simply accept that.
"It wasn't my fault! If you weren't such a selfish, lazy arse, you would not have needed to burden your people with an absurd amount of tax! (y/n) was just worried for them and I sought to ease her of her anxiety that was caused by you!" Jaeyun argues, seething as his chest heaves heavily. It's unwise to argue with the host whose edict will dictate his fate but that's all he can think of.
Sunoo scowls, brow arches with disbelief. "What?"
The feel of cold, trembling fingers intertwining with his distract him and he grows quiet upon meeting (y/n)'s gaze. She shakes her head softly as she rolls her lips between her teeth, brows scrunch and eyes constantly shifting from one of his to the other.
"Please," she begs wispily and brings his hand against her cheek which she then nuzzles into. Like ice to a bruise and a hearth in winter, Sunoo's tumultuous emotions are pacified, leaving only heavy exhaustion from his mental strain and the shaky exhale he perform is a telltale sign. He overlooks the curl of her lips when he surrenders into herâcupping her other cheek with his vacant hand before he presses his plush lips onto her forehead in a lingering, intimate kiss.
Sunghoon and Jaeyun gawk at the sight, both shocked and envious of his privilege to do such a thing with her, but they are quickly dismissed by him who chooses to abide by her requests. Even Sunghoon is excused as he's now too eager to spend time with (y/n) after being deprived of her for hours.
As the doors of her lavish chamber shut behind the two nobles, they turn to one another and exchange knowing yet simultaneously understanding looks before they separate to their own private rooms.
"I didn't know you would be so affected. I apologize," (y/n) says softly as Sunoo brings her to the bed before gently sitting her beside him. "I promise I will not do it again."
The noble stares at her, hurt flashing across his deep gaze as he recalls how she willingly chose to leave him and follow Jaeyun, but he only shakes his head a smile. She's still his and no one can change that. "It's true I was I upset. But, it was my fault. I knew I was being unfair to the people, but desperation lead me to be...selfish. I shouldn't have." "I'll mend it. I shall revoke my order and instead, retrieve the amount needed from my personal vault. My father would not know if I don't tell him, right?"
He lets out a small chuckle with a grin that spells mischief and slyness. His eyes upturned as they scintillate with excitement.
And at that, (y/n)'s brows raise briefly, pleasantly...surprised at his sudden declaration. He'll use his own wealth to correct his wrongs? Of course, it is to be expectedâfor one who is morally responsible and selflessâbut never did she expect that he, or any of the seven nobles, would make such a decision.
"(y/n)?" Sunoo calls softly, bemused by her abrupt silence before finding himself grappling to remain solid and sane when she presses her lips against his cheeks. His temperature spikes, each nerve end tingling as his face turns pink like a blossom. "(y-y/n)?"
The girl smiles as she cups his cheek, an enigmatic yet, warm gleam in her eyes as she stares tenderly at him. Sunoo feels as if he'll implode from how inordinately quick his heart rate is.
"You're sweet," she says, a strange sense of ambiguity laced within. Her thumb caresses his dewy skin that blooms redder. "I've truly...grown attached."

asking hee to do this was a piece of cake
he agreed to it immediately
he lovesssss watching you do your makeup
so when you asked him he was like, âwell.. yes!â
gonna keep it real with you, he has absolutely no idea what ANYTHING is
he just knows the things that he buys for you and thatâs it
flirty mcbirdy over here, heâs barely even watching the makeup, mostly watching you
âhi guys, today iâm doing my girlfriendâs makeup voiceover.â he says into the mic, the video starting with you priming your face as youâve already did skincare prior to starting the video.
you were next to him while he narrated your routine, holding in your giggles as he began naming the products that you were using.
âokay so now sheâs uhm.. damn sheâs gorgeous..â he paused for a moment, watching you through the screen as you applied the first product of your base.
you nudged him, urging him to stay on topic as your face began to warm up.
âsheâs applying, uhâ theâ the..â he thought for a moment, the product seemed familiar but he couldnât think of the name.
it was foundation.
âand then sheâs.. wiping it all over her face.â he mumbled, still not paying attention to what you were doing but admiring you instead.
âitâs blending, hee..â you whispered, not wanting the mic to pick up your voice.
expect the comments to go insane about heeâs little flirtatious comments.
âč đ đđ ïŒ
ngl, heâs a bit confused as to why you asked him to do this but he says yes anyway
why does this man actually know what the products are??
quite literally does the whole voiceover better than any beauty influencer youâve ever seen..
compliments you throughout the video
heâs literally so polite
âhello everyone, today y/n has asked me to do her voiceover, so here i am!â he says excitedly, watching you apply the first product.
âso here, sheâs putting some of the foundation in her t-zone.. she has really great skin.â he explains.
youâre sat next to him, shocked at how heâs able to understand the whole routine.
âafter she blends, she goes in with her.. concealer, i think.â he was right again.
as you blend that out, jay begins talking about the product that youâre using.
âyes, i pay attention to my girlâs routine.â he says, knowing everyoneâs gonna wonder how he could even know all of this. you bite back a smile, his comment making your heart warm.
now the whole internet wants a boyfriend like jay.
âč đđđŠïŒ
he is very eager to do it. why? because he loves you and is so down bad for you
ummm he knows NOTHINGGG about makeup đ«
another flirty one
count how many times he says he wants to kiss you or compliments your lips challenge (jake is so weak for kisses, you cannot convince me otherwise)
heâs so giggly throughout the whole thing ??
he definitely gets flustered over your beauty, esp your bareface <3
heâs lowkey your hype man even though he has no idea what heâs talking abt
âhey guys, itâs jake! today iâm gonna give you all a tutorial for y/nâs everyday makeup.â he beamed confidently. he watched you start your routine, already giggling at the small things you do throughout the first 30 seconds.
âso sheâs gonna start with, um..â his giggles cutting him off. âsheâs starting with the putty stuff. it kind of looks like play-doh!â
âjake!â you nudge him a bit, rolling your eyes playfully.
âsorry, sorry!â he laughs. ânow sheâs putting on.. powder? wait, no, thatâs definitely bronzer.â
âyeahh, apply that bronzer, babe!â he exclaimed.
it was powder foundation ??
âshe looks so good already, wanna give her a kiss..â he said, watching you pat the product onto your skin.
âč đ đ âïŒ
bro is so impatient
he canât think of any of the name of the products that youâre using which frustrates him to the MAX
pls donât laugh at him, he will sulk đ
cracks jokes abt how long you take
ânow sheâs applying.. uhm, glitter?â he tilted his head, watching you apply highlighter to the inner corners of your eyes.
âhighlighter, babe.â you corrected him, holding back your laughs.
âwhatever it is, itâs very shiny. and sheâs putting it on so do whatever sheâs doing if you want this look.â
you snorted a bit, finding his impatience hilarious.
âwatch as she puts on her favorite mascara that she made me buy her.. because she doesnât care about my pockets or if i go broke.â he sighed.
you landed a playful smack to his shoulder, scoffing.
âanyways, she takes forever.â he huffed. âshe told me she was gonna be ready in 10 minutes but 10 minutes turned into two hours, so i guess im gonna have to wait.â
please donât ever ask him to do this again.
âč đđ đ€ïŒ
like jay, he knows what everything is
heâs actually really excited to do this
he pays attention when you do your makeup and pays attention when he gets his makeup done so
he basically knows what everything is he just.. doesnât know how to do it
he knows all of your favorite products
count how many times he calls you pretty challenge:
âlook at how pretty she is!â he exclaims as you prime your face. âi did her skin care by the way.â
he watched as you applied your concealer, telling the viewers exactly what brand it was and what it did for your skin.
âiâm pretty sure this is her favorite product.â
âokay! next sheâs gonna set with this one powder that she absolutely loves.â he giggled.
you chuckle at his excitement, not expecting him to like this as much as he did. you just knew people would want more of him narrating your routines and grwms.
âand now, sheâs putting on her blush.. I love this part.â he said, mesmerized by you and your features.
âisnât she so pretty?â
âč đđđ€ïŒ
heâs so confused
tbh he just yaps the whole time
you donât know what heâs talking about, he doesnât know what heâs talking about..
he just knows that he buys some of the stuff
he gives random facts throughout the video ??
âokay, so iâm not really sure of what sheâs putting on her face right now..â he said, scratching his head slightly.
âdid you guys know that dolphins name each other?â
âjungwon..?â you furrow your eyebrows, looking at him confusingly.
âoh, right! sorry, now sheâs applying some.. nose.. stuff?â
you mentally face palmed at his attempt to name the products, which he ended up wrong every time.
âif it wasnât already obvious, i know none of these things, i just get whatever she tells me to buy.â jungwon giggled, watching you apply your blush.
please DO NOT let him do this ever again đđđœ
âč đđđïŒ
bro does NOT wanna be here
he doesnât wanna do it at all đ
but somehow you convince him (you told him youâd buy him robux)
he guesses everything
some of it he gets right somehow
gets so triggered when you laugh at him đ
âum, okay, sheâs applying concealer.. thatâs concealer, right?â he looked over at you, as the video showed you applying the product.
you looked at him, giggling.
âwhy are you laughing? is that not concealer?â he asked again, becoming irritated.
âyes.. just keep going, ki.â you cover up your laughs.
he rolls his eyes playfully, âanyways, now sheâs putting on some powder shit.. i donât know.â
âand sheâs.. beating it on her face..? why are you punching yourself?â he quirks an eyebrow.
you shake your head, sighing at his confusion.

You and Jungwon have always been at each otherâs throats ever since you both started working at the company. From your perspective, heâs arrogant and dismissive, constantly interrupting your ideas and making you feel undervalued. From Jungwonâs perspective, youâre overly controlling and unwilling to listen.
Your mutual disdain is well-known around the office. Despite your talents and contributions, your inability to see eye to eye has created a rift that seems impossible to bridge.
Today, you receive a message to report to the CEOâs officeâor Mr. Jeon, as you and your colleagues call him. You feel both anxious and curious, wondering what this could be about. As you approach the office, you take a deep breath, trying to steady yourself.
âWhat could this be about? I hope itâs not more bad news.â
You open the door to the CEOâs office and immediately see that shitface. No, not Mr. Jeon, but that bitch who's already seated, looking equally puzzled.
Jungwonâs eyes looked over to you as you entered the office. Both surprise and annoyance flash across his face, his lips pursing slightly.
âYou too, huh?â he remarks, his voice tinged with irritation.
Mr. Jeon, who is sitting behind his desk, smiles at both of you. âAh, youâre both here. Good. Have a seat, Y/n.â You sit in the chair beside Jungwon.
Mr. Jeon laces his fingers together, his gaze moving between you and Jungwon. âIâm sure both of you are wondering why I called you here today.â
Jungwon remains silent, but inside, heâs bracing for a reprimand. Meanwhile, you nod, genuinely curious about the reason behind the summoning. Is he tired of the constant fighting between you and that idiot?
âAs you know, the company has been facing some challenges lately, and weâve been looking for ways to streamline our operations and increase efficiency.â He leans forward, his eyes fixing on both of you. âThatâs why weâve decided to assign you two to work on a project together.â
âWith all due respect, sir, weâve had ourâŠdifferences. Are you sure this is the best idea?â you say with disbelief. No offense, but is Mr. Jeon alright?
The CEO nods, clearly having anticipated this objection. âI understand your concerns, but allow me to explain. The project we have in mind will require both of your unique skill sets and perspectives. We believe that working together will not only make the project more successful but will also help the two of you learn to collaborate effectively.â
He looks at both you and Jungwon. âThis is an opportunity to put aside your differences and focus on the task at hand. Can I count on both of you to give this your best shot?â
You glance at Jungwon with slight disgust, which he meets with a momentary glare before looking back at Mr. Jeon. Thereâs obvious hesitation in his eyes, but he eventually nods, knowing he has no other choice. âIf thatâs what the company needs, Iâll do my part.â
âAnd how about you, Y/n?â Mr. Jeon looks at you.
You look down, fiddling with your fingers. You donât want to disappoint him, even if it means working alongside that cat-looking man. You look up and nod. âIâll do my part as well.â
Mr. Jeon smiles, clearly pleased with your responses. âExcellent. I have every confidence that the two of you will make an outstanding team. I want daily updates on your progress. Youâre to work closely together and keep me informed about anything that may arise.â
He stands up, signaling the end of the meeting. âThatâs all for now. Youâre both dismissed.â
You stand up, bowing slightly at Mr. Jeon before quickly walking away from his office, your frustration simmering just beneath the surface.
Jungwon follows suit, falling in step behind you as you exit the CEOâs office. The silence between you is deafening, both of you still processing the fact that youâve been thrown into this situation together.
You then glare at him, which he returns with equal intensity. âDonât look at me like that. This isnât my idea,â he says, his tone dripping with annoyance.
You roll your eyes, crossing your arms defensively. âWhatever.â
Jungwon huffs in frustration, his patience already wearing thin. âCan you just cut the attitude for a second? Weâre stuck working together, whether we like it or not. So can we just find a way to make this bearable?â
He then adds, throwing his hands up in exasperation, âWe need to set some ground rules if this is going to work.â
You narrow your eyes at him, lips curling into a slight sneer. âFine. What do you propose?â
Jungwon crosses his arms over his chest as if to mimic you. âFor starters, no more eye rolls or backhanded comments every time something doesnât go your way. Weâre adults, not teenagers.â
âAnd two, we need to be open to each otherâs ideas. That means no shutting down suggestions without hearing the other person out.â
Hearing that makes you snicker. âYou always shut down my ideas.â
Jungwon rolls his eyes, clearly irritated by the accusation. âThatâs not true. I just think your ideas are unrealistic and impractical, thatâs all. And Iâm not the only one who thinks so. Itâs not all about you.â
You take a step closer to him, jabbing a finger in his direction. âMaybe if you listened, youâd see the potential instead of dismissing everything outright,â you say with a sarcastic tone.
He scoffs, his irritation growing with every word. âOh, please. Itâs not like your ideas are groundbreaking. Theyâre half-baked and lack any real substance. Why should I waste time listening to something that has no chance of working?â
You step even closer, eyes blazing with defiance. âBecause sometimes taking risks and thinking outside the box is what leads to real innovation, something you clearly donât understand.â
Jungwonâs voice lowers, his anger barely contained. âI understand plenty. Donât assume you know more than I do. Your so-called âinnovationsâ are nothing more than pipe dreams. You need to learn to be more realistic and grounded in the world we live in.â
You raise your voice a little, practically spitting the words. âYou know what? Iâll add another ruleâif weâre going to work together, we need to communicate clearly.â
Jungwon lets out a humorless laugh. âYou want communication? Thatâs rich coming from you. Any time I try to communicate with you, you immediately get defensive and start attacking. Itâs impossible to have a rational conversation with you.â
You cross your arms, narrowing your eyes. âMaybe if you stopped being so condescending, Iâd be more inclined to listen and have a rational conversation.â
Jungwon bristles visibly at being called condescending. âHow am I supposed to talk to you when youâre so stubborn that you wonât listen to reason? Youâre always convinced that you know best, even when youâre clearly wrong.â
Youâre about to snap back when your co-worker, Dae, approaches the both of you. âI know you two have your disagreements, but some of usâŠwell, all of us are focusing on our work, so you two need to stop,â he says gently.
Jungwon and you are both startled by Daeâs sudden appearance.
Jungwon sighs, rubbing his temples. âYeah, yeah. Weâll keep it down.â
Dae smiles a little and mutters, âThank you,â before walking back to his cubicle.
You exhale sharply, turning back to Jungwon. âWell, how are we supposed to do the project? Where?â
Jungwon glances around, thinking for a moment. âWe need to find a place where we can work on the project without distractions. How about the empty meeting room on the third floor?â
You cross your arms, nodding slowly as if testing the idea. âFine, weâll do our project there.â
Jungwon nods, already mentally preparing himself to work closely with you. Heâs begrudgingly accepting the reality that heâs going to have to spend a lot of time in your presence over the next few weeks. âLetâs head over there now so we can start getting things set up.â
You take a deep breath, steeling yourself for the inevitable clashes to come. âLead the way,â you say, your voice with resignation.
đ
You follow Jungwon into the empty meeting room and take a seat across from him. The tension is evident as both of you sit in silence for a few moments, neither knowing how to break the ice.
Finally, Jungwon sighs and opens his laptop, breaking the silence. âAlright, letâs get to work. We need to come up with a plan for the project.â
You bring out your laptop, placing it on the table before opening it. The hum of the machines fills the room as you both start to settle into the task at hand.
Jungwon scrolls through a few documents on his screen before speaking again. âHereâs what I was thinking we could do⊠But first, I want to hear your thoughts on the matter.â He looks at you, genuinely curious to hear your opinion, albeit begrudgingly.
You look at him, âGladly. I think we should focus on an interactive online campaign that uses social media influencers to create buzz. Itâs effective and has a wide reach.â
Jungwon considers your suggestion for a moment, his expression remaining neutral. âI disagree. I think a more traditional approach, like a series of high-profile events and trade shows, would give the product the prestige it needs. Face-to-face interactions create a stronger impact.â
You lean forward, your hands resting on the table. âEvents are important, but they take time to organize and can be expensive. We need quick and impactful results.â
Jungwonâs eyes narrow slightly as he counters your argument. âAnd social media campaigns can be hit or miss. We need something reliable and established.â
You groan frustration is evident in your voice. âUgh, itâs only been minutes and we are already breaking our rules.â
Jungwon lets out a scoff. âYouâre the one who started it by offering up your unrealistic ideas.â
You glare at him, your tone sharp. âAnd youâre the one who shot them down without even giving them a chance.â
Jungwon throws his hands up in frustration, rolling his eyes. âBecause they wouldnât work! You need to accept reality and stop living in your fantasyland!â
Taking a deep breath, you try to find a compromise. Arguing wonât get the project started, and you know you need to approach this with an open mind. âFine. What if we combine both approaches? Start with a high-profile launch event to get the initial attention, and then follow up with an aggressive online campaign to maintain the momentum?â
Jungwon considers your suggestion for a moment, his irritation gradually giving way to contemplation. After a few seconds, he nods, begrudgingly accepting the compromise. âThat⊠might just work. The event will generate buzz, and the online campaign will keep the momentum going. I can see your idea being viable in this context.â
You nod with a neutral expression, though a hint of satisfaction creeps into your eyes. âGlad to hear it.â
He lets out a sigh, his tone slightly more civil than before. âAlright, so weâve agreed on the approach, at least in theory. Letâs start drafting the plans for both the event and the online campaign. We need to set timelines and assign responsibilities.â
You type a few notes into your laptop, feeling a tentative sense of progress. âSounds good to me.â
đ
The weeks have been both of tension and resentful cooperation. The process has not been smooth sailing, with numerous disagreements and clashes between you and Jungwon. However, the progress of the project has kept both of you from completely succumbing to your differences. Youâve managed to finalize the plans for the event and the online campaign, although not without a few heated discussions.
As you review the progress the two of you have made, you canât help but wonder how the project will turn out despite the constant clashes between you and Jungwon.
Itâs very late at night, and it seems like itâs just the two of you left in the building. You close your laptop with a sigh. âAlright, weâll continue this tomorrow.â
Jungwon yawns and rubs his eyes, exhaustion setting in. The hours of working non-stop and being in close proximity to you have taken their toll on him.
He glances at his watch, realizing how late it is. âYeah, I guess thatâs all we can get done tonight. We should both get some rest and pick this up fresh tomorrow.â
You look at him in quiet disgust. âYou look like shit, by the way.â
He shoots you a withering glare, not appreciating the insult. He looks exhausted, with dark circles under his eyes and his usually meticulously styled hair now sticking up at odd angles. âYeah, well, you donât look so picture-perfect yourself.â
You roll your eyes, not even bothering to respond. He watches as you leave without another word. He runs a hand through his messy hair, trying to fix it. Despite his annoyance with you, he canât help but notice that even late at night, you still manage to look composed and elegant. It irks him, adding to his already simmering resentment.
đ
The next day, you and Jungwon are taking a break near the empty meeting room. The atmosphere is tense as usual, and neither of you seem eager to break the silence.
Then you hear your colleagues Hwan and Jihoâs voices coming from around the corner.
âI canât believe Mr. Jeon paired them up. Theyâre both such a mess. This project is doomed,â Jiho said.
Jungwonâs face tightens, his scowl deepening as he listens to the dismissive assessment. He has always prided himself on his capability and work ethic, and this kind of criticism stings.
He glances at you, noticing the flicker of discomfort in your eyes. Youâre silent, but itâs clear that the comments have affected you as well.
Hwan adds, âI know, right? I donât know what Mr. Jeon was thinking. Those two bicker more than they get any actual work done.â
As Hwan and Jiho continue their gossip, Jiho suddenly notices something over Hwanâs shoulder and widens his eyes. Hwan turned around to see...
One with very sharp eyes and the other whose expression are unreadable.
The air grows thick with tension as Hwan and Jiho fall silent, their faces flushing with embarrassment.
âYou know, if you have something to say, you could at least say it to our faces,â Jungwon says, his voice cool but edged with irritation. His eyes lock onto theirs, clearly displeased with being the subject of their gossip.
Your expression remains deadpan as you add, âAnd if you have any doubts about our abilities, youâll see the results soon enough. Weâre not here to entertain your gossip.â
Jiho shifts nervously, stammering as they try to offer a weak apology. âI-Iâm sorry. I didnât mean to doubt you. I just... uh, I just heard people talking...â
Their voice trails off as they struggle to find a way to excuse their behavior. You roll your eyes, unimpressed.
âThis is why Mr. Jeon never gave you two such an important task,â you say, your tone dripping with subtle disdain.
Both Hwan and Jiho blush furiously, their egos bruised by your comment. Hwan stutters awkwardly before blurting out, âThatâs not true! Iâve done plenty of important projects beforeâŠâ
Jungwon lets out a sarcastic huff, smirking. âYeah, sure. Running errands and fetching coffee.â
Hwanâs face reddens further at Jungwonâs dismissive retort. He glances at you and then back at Jungwon, struggling to come up with a response but failing miserably.
The two men exchange nervous glances, clearly intimidated. They mumble apologetically, their heads ducked in embarrassment, before hastily retreating down the hallway.
"Looks like we scared them off," Jungwon says, glancing at you with a satisfied smirk.
You nod and return his gaze. "That felt good."
Jungwon snorts, a rare smile tugging at his lips. "Yeah, it did. Itâs about time someone put those gossip-hounds in their place."
He meets your eyes, his expression growing more serious. "But, honestly, Iâm surprised we managed to agree on something for once."
You tilt your head, "That theyâre pieces of shit?"
Jungwon laughs, genuinely and unexpectedly, as he shoves his hands into his pockets. "Yeah, that part. At least we can agree on that."
He pauses, then adds, "Well, enough about them. I havenât even finished eating my curry."
You nod, "Yeah, me neither."
Jungwon gestures towards the break room where he left his lunch. "Come on then, no point in letting our meals get cold while we stand around gossiping."
"Weâre not gossiping. Those assholes are," you reply.
He grins, "Alright, maybe 'gossiping' isnât the right word. Letâs call it 'expressing our dislike for annoying coworkers' instead."
"Definitely. Come on," you say, heading towards the break room.
He follows you into the break room, where his lunch waits on the table. Jungwon sits down and picks up his curry, giving it a quick stir with his spoon. "Hope you donât mind me eating while we talk. I get cranky when Iâm hungry."
You tease, "You still look like shit even if you do something."
Jungwon rolls his eyes and shoots you a mock glare. "Wow, thanks for the vote of confidence. Iâll be sure to consider that constructive feedback."
đ
The project continues to slowly progress, albeit with the usual tension bubbling up here and there.
Despite the occasional setbacks and clashes, the two of you manage to find a sort of grudging respect for each other's skills and work ethic. It's not necessarily friendly respect, as you still find each other quite annoying. But there's an acknowledgment of the fact that the other isn't completely useless.
But today wasnât your day.
You were struggling with menstruation but decided to come to work anyway, taking some pain relievers to get through the day. As you were picking up some items to bring to the meeting room, you overheard a familiar voiceâAraâsâgossiping about you. She dislikes you for being partners with Jungwon.
âSheâs always so high and mighty, acting like sheâs better than everyone else. This is why Jungwon hates her. Mr. Jeon should have partnered me with him. I just know the project would be done in no time.â
Usually, you would confront anyone talking badly about you, but today, the words cut deeper than usual, leaving you stunned and hurt.
Trying to compose yourself, you headed to the empty meeting room where Jungwon was typing away at his laptop. You kept your head down, hoping he wouldnât notice the tears forming in your eyes.
Jungwon glanced up from his laptop and immediately sensed something was off. He could tell you were fighting back tears and visibly upset.
He pushed away from the table and approached you.
âWho did this to you?â
ââItâs nothing.ââ You wiped your tears and avoided his gaze.
He frowns, not buying your dismissive reply. He stops in front of you, forcing you to look at him. âItâs not nothing. Youâre clearly upset about something. And if someone has hurt you, I need to know.â
Thereâs genuine concern in his voice. Despite your ongoing animosity, he canât ignore the fact that youâre visibly distressed.
He watches as you struggle to find the words, his frown deepening. He reaches out, gently placing a hand on your cheek to tilt your head up. "Hey, look at me. Tell me what happened. Who made you cry like this? Was it Hwan? Or Jiho?"
âââŠItâs AraâŠI overheard her..she said some things about me and reasons why you hated me.ââ
He scowls at the mention of Ara's name, his expression darkening. He can easily picture her making such comments. She's been a source of tension and conflict within the office, constantly stirring up drama and gossip.
"And you believe her?" He said while caressing your cheek.
ââYeah?ââ You said while sniffing.
He shakes his head, clearly annoyed at both you and Ara. "Why would you believe the words of someone as petty and envious as her? You should know by now that her opinions are not worth the air they waste."
He continued, "You might be a headache and pain in the ass most of the time, but you're not conceited. You've worked hard to earn everything you have. You're talented and capable, and you know it. Don't let her convince you otherwise.â
He releases his hand from your cheek, âAnd next time you hear her talking about you, you tell me. Iâll deal with her before she spreads more of her bullshit around.â
He gently wipes your tears. âYou know what? Iâll be right back.â
Jungwon left the meeting room and made his way to Araâs cubicle, his eyes fixed on her with a steely glare. Araâs face brightened at his approach.
âOh, hi Jungwon. Is there anything I can help you with?â she asked, tucking her hair behind her ear.
âFollow me,â he said, his sharp eyes making Ara frown slightly.
He shut the door behind them, ensuring privacy. Araâs nervousness was felt.
âJungwon, I-â
âShut up.â He cut her off sharply. âI heard what you said about Y/n. Care to explain why youâre spreading lies about her?â
âI was just saying what others were thinking,â Ara stuttered, her eyes darting fearfully.
Jungwon scoffed, his patience wearing thin. âBullshit. Youâre just jealous because sheâs more talented and ambitious than you.â
He continued, âAnd Iâm warning you. If I hear you talking trash about her again, Iâll make sure you regret it. I can get you kicked out of here with just a word to Mr. Jeon.â
Ara swallowed nervously, clearly intimidated. âI-Iâm sorry, Jungwon. I wonât do it again, I swear.â
Jungwon scowled, unsatisfied with her apology. âYouâll be apologizing to Y/n, too. And if you know whatâs good for you, youâll make damn sure itâs sincere. Now come with me, youâll be apologizing to her. Now.â
He led her back to the meeting room where you were waiting. Jungwon gestured to Ara. âGo on. Say what you need to say.â
Ara approached you, her voice trembling. âUm, Y/n, I-I just wanted to sayââ
She faltered under Jungwonâs glare. âI⊠Iâm sorry. I shouldnât have said those things about you. I didnât mean it.â
Jungwon watched the scene closely, his expression unreadable. Once Ara finished her apology, he released her. âYou can go now.â
Ara nodded quickly, clearly relieved, and scurried out of the room. Jungwon turned to you.
âYou didnât have to,â you said softly, your voice tinged with residual emotion.
He scoffed, shaking his head. âOf course, I had to. You just sat there and took her bullshit without defending yourself.â
His expression softened unexpectedly. âWhy didnât you say anything? You usually stand up for yourself.â You looked down, feeling embarrassed. He then continued, âNo offense, but youâve dealt with worse and come out stronger.â
Jungwon reached out and gently wiped a tear from your cheek. âSo why did it affect you so much? Why did it make you cry?â
You closed your eyes, your voice barely a whisper. âI just⊠I feel sensitive today becauseâŠâ
Jungwon raised an eyebrow, waiting. âBecauseâŠ?â
You hesitated before admitting, âIâm on my period.â
Jungwon blinked in surprise, then nodded in understanding. âAh, I see. That would make sense.â He smirked, a playful glint in his eye. âExplains why youâre so emotional today.â
âBut still, her words shouldnât have gotten to you. Youâre too talented and capable to let petty remarks affect you.â
You shook your head. âYouâre just saying that to make me feel better.â
He snorted, rolling his eyes. âIâm not the kind to sugarcoat things. You know that.â
He looked at you directly. âIâm serious. Youâre a pain in the ass and a constant headache, but thatâs because youâre ambitious and talented. Her words are just petty bullshit. Donât let them get to you.â
He patted your hair gently, a surprisingly affectionate gesture. âAnd next time someone talks trash about you, tell me. Iâll take care of it.â
You were touched by his words and, despite your attempts to hold it together, started crying harder. Your shoulders shook as you tried to suppress your sobs.
Jungwon looked alarmed, clearly unsure how to handle your emotional outburst. He awkwardly patted your back. âHey, calm down. Youâre gonna give yourself a headache with all that crying. Take a deep breath.â
You managed to choke out between sniffles, âWhy are you being so kind today?â
Jungwon looked taken aback by your question. âWhat do you mean? Iâm always kind.â
âBullshit,â you muttered, wiping your tears with the back of your hands.
He smirked at your bluntness. âCareful now. Youâre the one crying your eyes out.â
His smirk softened slightly. âBut seriously, stop crying. Youâre making me get all emotional.â
âYou too?â you asked, your eyes widening in surprise.
Jungwon scowled, though his tone was softer. âYeah, yeah. Make fun of me all you want. Youâre the one blubbering like a baby.â
You continued to sniffle and then let out a small, amused laugh. âI want to see you cry so I can take a picture and post it on Instagram.â
He scoffed, raising an eyebrow. âFat chance. Iâm not crying just to satisfy your twisted sense of humor. Plus, Iâd look even more handsome than you if I was crying, so youâd be jealous.â
You laughed a little more, feeling somewhat better. âYou know what? We should get back to the project. Mr. Jeon might kick our asses.â
He shook his head, a hint of a smile tugging at his lips. âYou go from crying to work mode in no time. Damn, youâre back to being a pain in the ass.â
âFirst, do you have a napkin? I have a snotâŠâ you said, holding up the empty tissue box.
He winced, clearly disgusted at your tear-stained, snot-filled face, but still reached into his pocket, pulling out a small pack of tissues. âHere. Clean yourself up already. Youâre a mess.â
You took the tissue gratefully, wiping your nose. âThank you. Letâs get back to work.â
He watched as you blew your nose and tried to compose yourself. âYeah, the sooner we finish this, the sooner Iâll be rid of your snot-filled face.â
âIt only happened today!â you protested.
He scoffed, a smug expression on his face. âYeah, I know. Iâm being extra generous today, dealing with your hormonal, leaky self.â
âStop!â you said, swatting his arm.
He exaggeratedly winced, his hand on his arm. âOuch! Watch it, I almost lost a limb.â
You glared at him but couldnât help the small smile that tugged at your lips. You moved to sit down at your desk, opening your laptop, with tissues at the side.
Jungwon settled next to you, opening his laptop. âAlright, time to get back to business. Letâs finish this project ASAP so I can get a break from your whining.â
đ
The two have been working closely and starting to get along better, but the stress of the approaching deadline and their differences lead to friction. Theyâve been working late nights, and exhaustion is wearing on both of them, making tempers shorter.
They have a disagreement over a critical aspect of the project, such as the direction of the campaign. The argument escalates quickly, with both raising their voices, airing out frustrations not just about the project but also about each otherâs working styles and personal issues.
âYouâre always so stubborn, never willing to see anyone elseâs perspective!â you shout at him, frustration boiling over.
He snaps back, his temper flaring up further. "And you're always so bossy, expecting everyone to follow your lead without question! You act like you're the only one who knows what's best. Maybe if you'd listen to other people for once, we wouldnât be in this mess!"
âAnd maybe if you werenât so stubborn and dismissive, weâd make progress instead of constantly arguing!â you retort, your voice rising.
He glares at you, his patience wearing thin. "Dismissive? I'm not the one who thinks they know everything. You're so set on dominating every decision that you can't even see when you're wrong."
He crosses his arms, a look of defiance on his face. "Maybe if you'd learn to compromise once in a while, we wouldn't be stuck in this damn cycle of arguing and getting nowhere!"
âCompromise works both ways, Jungwon. Maybe if you stopped acting like you always have the right answer, weâd actually find a solution that works for both of us!â you fire back, your eyes blazing with anger.
He scoffs, his defenses automatically going up even further. "You're one to talk! Youâre just as guilty of stubbornly sticking to your position as I am. You never listen to anyone elseâs perspectives, and then you get all defensive when someone challenges your ideas."
He runs a hand through his hair, clearly frustrated by the situation. "Maybe if you stopped being so confident in your infallibility, weâd actually be able to find a middle ground."
The argument reaches a peak, with both of you standing close, faces flushed with anger.
His eyes blaze with irritation as he glares at you, âYou never give an inch, do you? Itâs always your way or no way with you, isnât it? You canât even admit when youâre wrong.â
âYouâre so quick to point fingers and place the blame, never considering that maybe, just maybe, youâre part of the problem too,â you say, your voice shaking with frustration.
As the words hang in the air, the tension between you becomes almost unbearable.
âFuck this.â
He pulls you in for a kiss.
The kiss is intense and passionate. âShut up. Just shut up for a goddamn second,â he mutters in between kisses. His hands move to cradle your face, holding you tightly as he devours your lips.
The kiss breaks abruptly at the sound of the door opening. Jungwon steps back quickly, trying to act as if nothing had just happened, but his flushed face and the rapid rise and fall of his chest betray the intensity of the moment.
Dae raises an eyebrow at the scene before him, clearly having walked in on an interesting moment. âItâs getting late. I suggest you two go home and continue the project tomorrow.â
Jungwon shoots a sharp glare at Dae but forces himself to calm down. âYeah, alright. We were about to leave anyway." He picks up his laptop and shoves it into his bag, his movements a bit rushed and restless.
You pack your things, your heart still racing from the kiss. Jungwon watches you, his gaze never leaving you. He feels different kinds of emotionsâfrustration, confusion, and a whole lot more.
After you finish packing, he clears his throat softly. âLetâs go. Iâll walk you to your car.â He leads the way out of the office, his footsteps a little faster than usual. As you walk side by side in silence, he steals glances at you from the corner of his eye, clearly still affected by the earlier kiss.
Finally, as you reach your car, he pauses and turns to face you. âListen, about⊠that back thereââ He trails off, clearly struggling to find the right words. âI donât know why I did that. I just got so frustrated with that whole argument, and I guess I just... lost it. Iâm sorry.â
You take a deep breath, trying to steady your racing heart. âIâm sorry too.â
He lets out a deep exhale, his shoulders sagging slightly. âWe need to find a way to work together without constantly arguing and⊠making things more complicated.â
He gives a light, self-deprecating chuckle. âMaybe we should start by not screaming at each other and then kissing each other senseless.â
You look up at him, trying to process everything. âDefinitely,â you agree softly, a hint of a smile playing on your lips despite the tension.
He runs a hand through his hair again, a nervous habit youâve noticed. âI⊠I just canât figure you out sometimes, you know? One minute youâre driving me insane by being so stubborn, and the next youâre looking at me with those eyes, all innocent and⊠damn it.â He drags a hand over his face, frustration evident in every line of his body.
He continued. âAnd I canât decide if I want to rip your clothes off or wring your neck. Hell, maybe both.â
You glare at him, surprised at his words. âPervert!â you exclaim, pushing him back with a firm hand on his chest.
He laughs a low, gravelly sound. âI never claimed to be anything else. But admit it, you donât exactly hate it.â
You keep your hand on his chest, feeling the rapid beat of his heart. âStop it,â you insist, your voice softer now, almost pleading.
He looks down at your hands on his chest, a small smirk forming. He lifts his own hands and covers yours with his, holding them against his chest. âStop what? Saying what Iâm thinking? Iâve never been good at hiding my thoughts, you should know that by now.â
You sigh, frustration evident in your voice. âIâm confused. Why the hell did you kiss me?â
âBecause⊠I donât know, okay? I donât know why I did it, or why it felt so good, or why I want to kiss you again right now. I just... canât think straight around you sometimes. You make me feel all twisted up inside.â He pauses, his eyes searching your face for understanding.
âYou drive me crazy in the most frustrating and arousing way possible. I donât know how else to explain it.â
âDo you like me or what?â you ask, your voice trembling slightly.
He hesitates for just a moment, his expression torn. Then he gives a half-smile. âI⊠donât know. Maybe. Probably. Yes. I definitely want you, thatâs for sure.â
âBut Iâm also frustrated as hell by you, and confused as hell by you. Itâs a complicated mix of emotions, I can tell you that.â
You shake your head, feeling just as confused. âYouâre confused, Iâm fucking confused, bro.â
He laughs a little at your outburst. âWell, at least weâre both confused. Great way to start a... whatever this would be.â
He continues, his tone softening. âYouâre really cute when you cuss. It doesnât fit your whole innocent angel persona you usually have going on.â
You raise your eyebrows, looking at him as if he was insane. âInnocent? You have seen me fight, right?â
He rolls his eyes, but his expression is lighthearted. âYeah, I know youâre fierce. But you also give off this innocent, angelic vibe, with your long lashes and cute little pouts. Itâs confusing as hell if you want me to be honest.â
âWell, whatever this is, you and I better finish the project. So we can have that goddamn paycheck,â you say, trying to steer the conversation back to work.
âYeah, youâre right. We can figure this other stuff out later, I guess.â He takes a small step back, creating a bit of space between you. âWeâll finish the project. Just⊠try not to drive me insane in the process, okay?â
âAnd how am I supposed to do that?â you ask, tilting your head.
He gives you an exasperated look. âHow the hell should I know? Stop being so stubborn, maybe. Stop being so damn cute and looking at me like that. Thatâd be a good start.â
âI donât know what youâre talking about. Maybe you should stop being an asshole then,â you say, crossing your arms.
He laughs, shaking his head. âAnd thereâs that sharp tongue that drives me insane. Canât go two minutes without calling me an ass, can you?â
You groan, âCanât you just let me go? I really have to go home.â
âYeah, alright. I donât want to keep you from your beauty sleep any longer.â He nods at you. âHave a good night. And donât work too hard on the project tonight. Weâll continue tomorrow.â
You offer a small smile, feeling the tension ease slightly. âYou bet,â you reply, then you open the car door and slide into the driverâs seat.
He watches as you get into your car, a small smile playing on his lips. As much as the two of you butted heads and drove each other crazy, he couldnât deny the attraction that was slowly building between you.
âThat woman honestly⊠my woman,â he mutters to himself as he walks away.
đ
You and Jungwon continued to work together, and with the projectâs success, there was a sense of accomplishment that was hard to ignore. Despite all the tension, the team had pulled off something impressive.
Heâs sitting at his desk, reviewing the projectâs metrics, when he looks up and catches your eye from across the office. A half-smile quirks, and he gives a slight nod, acknowledging your shared accomplishment. For now, the projectâs success took precedence over your differences.
He watches as you return his nod. The tension between you has lessened somewhat, an unspoken truce having formed as you both focus on the successful outcome of the project.
He looks back down at his computer screen, the numbers, and figures a welcome distraction from the thoughts of you that were still on his mind.
He wonders if the peace between you will last, or if things will return to the bickering and arguing once the high of success wears off.
đ
Mr. Jeon, has decided to celebrate in the company building to acknowledge the hard work and success of the project. The office is decorated, and a small party is in full swing. Colleagues are mingling, enjoying drinks and snacks, while music plays softly in the background.
Jungwon stands off to the side of the room, nursing a drink and watching the party unfold. His eyes occasionally scan the room, searching for the one person he both wants to see and dreads seeing - you.
When he finally spots you, he feels a jolt of something in his chest - a mix of attraction and irritation. You look as effortless and beautiful as ever.
Out of hesitation, he decides to approach you. He reaches your side, clearing his throat softly to get your attention. âNeed a minute?â
You look up, meeting his gaze. âOf course.â
He leads you away from the noise and bustle of the party, finding a quieter spot in another office far away. Once there, he turns to face you. âFirst of all, I just wanted to say... that we did good. The project was a success, and we managed to put aside our differences for the sake of the company. I guess we actually make a halfway decent team.â
You nod, a small smile tugging at your lips. âI guess we do. Itâs surprising how well we managed to pull it off despite all the arguing.â
He lets out a small chuckle, a genuine smile spreading across his face. âWho would have thought, huh? The companyâs most vocal enemies actually working together and pulling off something amazing.â
âBut I guess I have to ask... how are we going to keep this truce up? You're still a headache, you know?â
You shrug, trying to keep the mood light. âI donât know. Weâll figure it out. Maybe we need to communicate better or add some ground rules.â
Jungwon's smile fades slightly, replaced by a look of frustration. âDamn it, youâre so frustrating. Iâm trying to have a serious conversation here, and you just... never give a straight answer.â
Youâre standing so close to each other that he has to tilt his head down slightly to maintain eye contact. âDo you have any idea how confusing you are? One minute I want to strangle you, and the next minute I want toââ
He cuts himself off abruptly, looking away. âNever mind, it doesn't matter.â
Youâve had enough of his mixed signals.
You roll your eyes, exasperated. âIâve had enough. Do you like me or not? I canât keep doing this if youâre just going to keep me guessing.â
He lets out a gruff laugh, shaking his head. âYouâre always so straightforward, arenât you? Canât even give me a momentâs peace to figure out what Iâm feeling.â
He looks back down at you, his expression softening. âYeah, I⊠I think I do. Love you, I mean. I know itâs insane, and itâs probably the worst idea Iâve ever had, but I canât seem to help it.â
A mixture of relief and joy floods through you. âI know because I love you too, asshole. Itâs been driving me crazy, trying to figure out how you feel. But I need to know where we stand. Are we going to keep pretending like this isnât happening?â
He's startled for a moment, not expecting your sudden admission. But as your lips meet him, he loses all self-control. He wraps his arms around you, pulling you closer as the kiss deepens.
You pull back slightly, breathless. âWe canât keep doing this. One minute weâre fighting, the next weâre kissing. We need to figure out what we really want.â
He nods, his forehead resting against yours. âI know. But right now, all I want is you.â
As the intensity of the moment takes over, he reaches for a hand behind him to lock the door.
đ
The next day,
Jungwon was walking down the hallway when he saw you. He immediately noticed something was off - you were walking a little slower than usual, and there was a slight limp in your steps.
He frowns, walking over to you with concern on his face. "Are you alright? You look like you're walking a little... stiffly."
You glare at him. "Your fault."
He raises an eyebrow at your accusation, his mind flashing back to the previous nightâs... activities. He notes the slight flush still evident on your cheeks and the subtle limp in your gait. "Yeah, well, you didnât seem to mind last night," he teases, tilting his head.
"Good thing no one caught us," you mutter, trying to keep your voice down.
He chuckles as he backs you into the wall behind you. "Iâll admit, you were pretty loud last night." He braces one hand against the wall beside your head, leaning in closer. "If someone had walked by, they definitely would have heard you. I might have had a hard time explaining⊠things."
"Let's say we were fighting," you suggest, rolling your eyes. "At least itâs a believable excuse."
He laughs, fully amused at the thought. "A fight? At 1 am? They would never believe that. Not with the sounds you were making. But for the record, I think it was worth the risk."
"Whatever. Come on," you grumble, embracing him for support as you start to walk. "I just hope I can make it through the day without collapsing."
"You know, we could always skip work and spend the day at my place. Give your legs some rest," he whispers to you.
"You think Mr. Jeon would allow us?" you ask skeptically, raising an eyebrow. "He's pretty strict about attendance, especially after big projects."
"Probably not. But I can be... persuasive when I want to be. If I tell him we need some time to discuss important project-related matters, he might just sign off on it." He squeezes your arm gently. "Itâs only the responsible thing to do, after all."
"You do know that the project is finished, right? What project-related matters could we possibly discuss?" you remind him.
"I know. But we have to keep up appearances, donât we? And who knows, we might find something... new to work on," he says with a playful grin. "And I can think of several things that need my immediate attention."
"I'm too sore, Jungwon!" you scold him, trying to keep your tone serious. "I can barely walk, let alone... do anything else."
"I bet you are. I might have gotten a little carried away last night." He pulls back slightly to look at your face, his expression softening. "We donât have to do anything too strenuous, I promise. We can just relax, watch a movie, order some food."
"We did work really hard on that project. Maybe we do deserve a break," you admit, a small smile tugging at your lips. "But what if Mr. Jeon finds out weâre just slacking off?"
He shrugs, a sly grin on his face. "Who cares what the CEO would allow? Weâre both senior team members, and weâve done a damn good job with the project. Iâm sure weâve earned a little break. And honestly, Iâd much rather spend the day with you in my bed than stuck here in the office."
"Fine," you finally relent, unable to resist his charm. "But only because I really need a break."
A satisfied smile spreads across his face as you cave in. He reluctantly releases his hold on you. "Great. Iâll go talk to Mr. Jeon real quick, then we can get out of here."
He glances down at your legs, frowning slightly. "Can you even walk comfortably in those heels? You look like youâre about to fall over!"
"I gotta look hot, alright?" you retort, lifting your chin defiantly. "Canât have everyone thinking Iâm slacking off just because Iâm sore."
He looks at you, taking in the tight pencil skirt and stiletto heels youâre wearing. Heâs having a hard time disagreeing with your statement. "You look hot, alright, but you shouldâve worn something more comfortable if you knew your legs would be this sore."
"I didnât plan on being sore, genius. Just tell Mr. Jeon," you say, exasperated. "And hurry up. I donât want to be standing here all day."
He rolls his eyes, but heâs still smiling. "Alright, alright. Iâm going."
đ
Jungwon has his arm wrapped around your shoulders while lying on his bed as you both watch the movie. His fingers absently stroke your arm as he watches the screen.
He glances down at you, noticing how you look in his oversized t-shirt. There was something domestic and endearing about it that made him feel butterflies in his stomach.
He smiles, "You look better in my clothes than you do in your work clothes."
"You are kidding," you say, giving him a playful nudge. "Your clothes are so baggy on me. I look like I'm drowning in them."
He laughs and kisses the top of your head. "I'm serious. You should just start wearing my stuff and call it a day. It suits you better." He nuzzles his face into your hair. "And I have to admit, I like seeing you in my clothes and the way you smell like me."
You roll your eyes playfully. "You're just saying that because you like the idea of me being marked by you. Territorial much?"
He reaches over for a piece of food from the tray on the nightstand, holding it up to your lips. "Here, have some food. You must be hungry. Then maybe we can finish the movie and see if we can find something else to do."
You open your mouth, and he feeds you the food, watching as you chew, his eyes full of adoration. "Thanks. I was starving," you admit after swallowing. "This movie night idea was perfect."
Once you've swallowed, he sets the food aside and shifts on the bed. "You know, I never actually asked you out properly even though we already said 'I love you' to each other."
"I was waiting for you to say that," you reply, smiling up at him. "I mean, we've been acting like a couple, but I was starting to wonder if you were ever going to make it official."
He laughs again, but his eyes never leave your face. He reaches up and brushes a strand of hair away from your forehead. "Well, I guess Iâm saying it now, huh? I still canât believe we went from hating each other to this. Itâs crazy."
"I know, right?" you say with a soft laugh. "I thought you were the most insufferable person Iâve ever met. But now, I can't imagine my life without you."
"I guess what they say is true. Thereâs a fine line between love and hate." Then he continued. "Although, Iâm starting to think it was more of a âlustâ rather than a âloveâ for a while there."
"Maybe," you say thoughtfully. "But I think there was always something more. We just didn't realize it."
"Well, now itâs definitely both. I think I went from âdespisingâ you to âdesiringâ you to âlovingâ you in record time." He said chuckling.
"Arenât you gonna ask me out properly?" you say bluntly, raising an eyebrow at him.
"What, this isnât formal enough? Maybe I should get on one knee and ask you properly then," he teases, pausing to look at you seriously. ââAlright..ââ
"Will you officially be my girlfriend, even though we basically are already? Pretty please?"
"Yes, of course," you say with a grin. "But you better make it up to me with a proper date soon."
He then presses his lips against yours in a deep, passionate kiss. After a moment, he reluctantly pulls back, breaking the kiss but still keeping his face near yours. "Thank god. I was afraid you were going to say no."
"Bitch, are you serious right now?" you say, looking at him as if he was crazy. "You know I couldn't say no to you."
"No, I know you couldnât resist me even if you tried, babe." He leans in to plant soft kisses on your cheek. "I love you. Mwah. Mwah."
"I love you too," you whisper, snuggling closer to him. "And for the record, I think this whole thing is pretty amazing. I never thought I'd say this, but I'm glad we were forced to work together."
"Me too," he says softly. "It's been a wild ride, but I wouldn't trade it for anything."
Yeah, it was clear that things did take a turn after that first kiss. It was a hectic rollercoaster of a ride, but I guess being forced to work on a project with the person you despise can turn it into either the best or worst experience ever.
But for you? It sure as hell was the best.

This honestly made me tear up, a 17 year old engene named zika has passed away in gaza. this breaks my heart deeply. she was a fan just like us with dreams to one day see the boys. please try your best to spread her letter so it can possibly reach the boys!

Hello
I hope my message finds you safe
I would be really grateful if you could help me by donating to save me and my family from the dangers of war and death in Gaza and escape to a safe place.
We can't bear this injustice and fear. We have endured 10 months of suffering, humiliation, destruction and escaping death. No one asks about us. We are dying here in public, and there is nothing now to survive.
Please share, repost or donate to my family đ

A CAT? - psh
àšà§Â fem presenting!reader x bf!park sunghoon | ren says... i love him way too much oops | library
--
park sunghoon come homes to find you and a small bundle also napping on your chest. its ears twitch at the sound of the door opening, and its hazel eyes lock with your boyfriend's.
a cat.
you got a cat.
he wants to be just a little worried about your impulses- âwhat about the litter? will he be happy by himself while youâre both at work? what about the cat hair? is he safe to be around at all??â but he canât help melting when the black cat curls back into a ball and you nestle closer, a hand subconsciously coming up to hold him.
park sunghoon is not freaking out. a cat is fine. (heâs freaking out.)
a cat is fine- until one day, sunghoon finds himself with a strange emotion in his chest.
that should be me.
and immediately, he knows heâs just a bit jealous. heâs jealous that whenever you get off work, you get cat treats and toys and buy new structures for the boy to play with and sleep on. your shared apartment is littered with cat related products. hell, you convinced him to get a roomba to vacuum the hair that your new roommate sheds, and he sighs when thinking about the money he spent buying wet cat food just last week.
even sunghoon feels like he third wheels. and that doesnât leave him sad, or angry, or any negative emotions, but heâs almost embarrassed to be competing against a cat for his girlfriendâs affection.
one day, youâre doing errands. perfect timing.
âlisten you runt.â sunghoon sits the furry menace on the bed, not paying any mind to how silly he looks reprimanding a pet twenty times smaller than him. âsheâs my girlfriend. you havenât taken her out on dates, you havenât kissed her, you havenât done anything to get as much love as i do. so you better know your place.â and you canât help but laugh from the doorway of your bedroom at the sight of park sunghoon fighting a 5 month old cat for his girl.
needless to say, the cat still stays, and your boyfriend seems to have gotten a bit clingy whenever the two are around each other.
"how'd you get your cat?" itâs a good story to tell at dinner.

âââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââ

YOU SHUT OFF YOUR PHONE AS YOU AND YUNJIN MADE IT TO CAMPUS.
As the next week came, tickets had started to sell and the fundraiser or festival increased in multitudes in emails and posters. The school was shoving the upcoming events in your face, and honestly, you wanted to bury all of the bombarding information into the dirt.
The stalls and booths for each club was being nicely set up even though everything was scarce with colours since nothing was complete yet.
Soon enough, you and Yunjin greeted Jay, Jungwon, Sunoo and someone else. Upon realising the new figure, your eyes cast over him: he was tall, grey frame of glasses to shield his brown eyes and plump lips with his black hair cut to perfection. Two moles were engraved in his skin, and he was nothing short of a giant.
Sunoo waved to you as he leaned back against a wooden table with benches, arms crossed as he gave a lambent smile. Jay and Jungwon glanced from their phones where the twitter conversation just happened.
And so, you cast your gaze to the unknown figure standing by Sunoo, your questions arising.
"So... uh- who's this?" You glanced to Sunoo curiously to which everyone else also looked at him.
He gave a sheepish smile as he looked at you. "Ah- right. He's one of my old friends, Park Sunghoon."
The dude named *Sunghoon stepped to you, his dead eyes boring right into yours with an outstretched hand to shake. No smile, no nothing.
"I'm Park Sunghoon," he said again to pretty much everyone. His voice was deep, a subtle tone of ice underneath. Yunjin didn't shake his hand, so for courtesy, you shook his hand and smiled a little.
"I'm Yn..."
Still no smile, and you shrunk back next to Yunjin who also introduced herself. Well, he was certainly a social butterfly.
"I'm a computer science major," he said, standing back next to Sunoo. You and everyone else fell into an uncomfortable silence and Jay cleared his throat.
"Well, anyway. Me and Yunjin are planning to do a dance number with some other people," Jay commented, shifting the conversation through. Which, you were glad because Sunghoon was burning holes into you right now.
Sitting down on the benches, you got your phone out again, tapping on twitter to the link Jungwon provided. It led to an article simply saying the CEO - Moon Minseok - was climbing the ladder for success quite swiftly.
He was advancing quickly to build a new division for his company but the new sector was unknown and was yet to be disclosed to the public. Probably for suspense and attention.
It tickled your brain in a familiar way. Whilst everyone kept discussing the festival, you repeated 'GoMin' under your breath, as if a fleeting cue would stop by and give you a push in the right direction to a memory.
Though, every hit and attempt missed the target and you couldn't get anymore than a ghost of the name you were relaying.
"GoMin..." you repeated again, catching Yunjin's attention. She perched her chin on her palm, eyes focusing on you, confused.
Noticing her gaze, you shook your head into focus and glanced back at her bewildered face.
"You good?"
"Yes. It just feels awfully similiar. I don't know," you replied, flicking through the article and she chuckled.
"Are you sure it's not because the school has mentioned it a hundred times?" She joked, but seeing your disgruntled shrug, she stopped and nudged you.
"Why? Where do you remember it from?" Yunjin turned her body to face you even more.
That's the thing - you wish you could answer her, but you couldn't quite grab at the roots and find the source. It was as if you were grabbing air at this point.
Sighing, you turned off your phone and shook your head. "It's probably nothing."
Yunjin didn't completely believe you, but she left it at that before turning back to the boys discussing their plans for the fundraiser. Sunoo sat down next to Jungwon slowly and started speaking.
"Actually, I think one of my younger friends are coming to the festival. His name is Riki, in his senior year of high school." Sunoo nodded along as he spoke.
You sent a warm smile, deciding to gravitate away from the 'GoMin' company and to your social circle. "Is he going to come with you?"
Another timid smile crept up Sunoo's lips as he shook his head, causing everyone to give him a quizzical look.
"Why not? It's makes sense if he comes with you," Jay commented, and he said something that everyone was thinking at that moment.
"With the whole internship thing, I didn't get to sign up to anything and I'm busy catching up," Sunoo replied. It made sense, but you realised he was always missing out on certain events.
It was like you barely saw him anymore except a few study sessions at the café.
"I'm sure you can take a break," you interjected hopefully, leaning your elbows on the table. Besides, he was a part of your friend group but it seemed like he was a ghost in your presence.
Unyielding, Sunoo rejected and shook his hand and head. "I really can't."
Knowing he wasn't going to move his decision, you gave up on it and turned away. Jay chuckled a little, poking his head out to see Sunoo.
"This company is really caging you there huh?" Jay teased as everyone chuckled a little. Sunoo gave a tight smile and Sunghoon stood there on his phone like an iceberg.
"I mean, it is a little dodgy that they're not even being lenient on a university student." Yunjin shrugged, wondering how far they're willing to push a simple student.
Jungwon hummed and turned to Sunoo nonchalantly "Did you even ask them to give you a break?"
His voice was a little monotone, and nothing short of a scoff. Considering what Sunoo asked you last week, you gave a short glare to Jungwon, who didn't even notice it.
The others might not notice, but you felt the awkward cloud hovering over the table. You had to turn away again to breathe.
Sunoo mumbled before turning away from Jungwon. "They're already aware. But, it's nothing i can't handle."
With a little furrowed of Jungwon's brows, he casually glanced at Sunoo, giving the face that looked a little unbothered. You wished you could shut Jungwon up, knowing that there was already some doubts rooted in Sunoo's mind.
"Oh, so I guess you kind of landed yourself into that one," Jungwon remarked to Sunoo. The air kind of fell into a terse silence again until Jay cleared his throat.
"Well, it seems like they are a busy," he said, swerving the conversation to a lighter atmosphere. You're glad.
"I just hope they're not overworking you. You said it's unpaid, no?" You glanced to a blank Sunoo, who snapped out of it once you asked.
He gave a slight nod. "Yeah. But it's great experience. And they would give me a great reference."
"Just make sure they're not dodgy," Yunjin said, half-serious and half-joking. Sunoo just chuckled lightly, though it didn't reach his eyes.
"Hey, guys, I work there. I'll be fine." Sunoo drummed his fingers on the wooden table, sensing that everyone was a tiny bit worried for him, but he maintained his placid behaviour.
Everyone left it at that when the phones came out and everyone went back to their respective clouds of solitude. Sunoo took the chance to leave with Sunghoon, not before waving to you and Yunjin, to which you gave a respectful hand back.
After a good 5 minutes, Jungwon grumbled under his breath, letting him phone clatter to the table, alerting everyone of his little raincloud over his head. He soon ran a hand through his hair.
Jay glanced to him with a little side-eye. "You good there?"
Jungwon's brows dug deep into his head, a little frown tugging as always. You couldn't help but smirk at his continued rainfall of grimace that fell over him.
His head jerked to his phone, as if something horrible came upon it.
"Stupid film project." He pinched the bridge of his nose before glancing at his phone. Jay chuckled as he gave an are-you-serious look to his dear friend.
"You complained about this last time. Get a grip, Wonie, you're going to get projects."
"But do you even know the 'theme' or whatever?" Jungwon remarked with disbelief, as if thinking about it caused him internal pain. You rolled your eyes playfully, whilst Yunjin and Jay chuckled to themselves.
For Jungwon, it was a serious dilemma. "Individuality and warmth - what kind of shit is that?"
Amused, Jay decided to poke some more fun at Jungwon's strop.
"I think your teacher hates you," Jay said with another laugh under his breath. He knew Jungwon was the embodiment of ice- curt and hard to stay around if they were a complete stranger to him.
Yunjin joined in on the teasing. "Yeah, I think your teacher is out for you."
"He took one look at you and said, 'I'm going to make Yang Jungwon quit film'." You laughed under your hand, to which Jungwon narrowed his eyes at you and crossed his arms.
"Thanks for the support, guys," he grumbled, frowning at all of you guys with a voice deprived of joy, his cat eyes glaring at everyone.
"Even when thanking us you have to be sarcastic," Jay said, nudging Jungwon with a soft elbow. It only earned a peeved glower from the younger one, but you were thoroughly enjoying this.
"Yeah, you're totally going to fail this."
âââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââ
Balancing 100 small gift bags in your arms was supposed to be time-efficient but you did look ridiculous. You doubted you were going to make it outside to the gardening booth without dropping some.
The seniors were already outside setting up the kiosk and putting the informative banners up. All you had to do was get the paper things outside.
Easy enough.
Jungwon said he would join you, but after waiting for him in the gardening room for 5 minutes, your patience ran thin and you decided to bundle a bunch in your arms.
So, here you were, walking down the halls of Yoreun, some people staring; you have no idea if it's from how ludicrous you look or if the past, nefarious news hadn't shaken off your figure.
Whatever it was, you were determined to finish quick, so you sauntered in a not-so-straight line. You blew air into your bangs as you walked, gasping when one nearly fell off the surface of your arms.
Though, you managed to balance it, and relief swept through you.
The outside area was so close, and you picked up the pace, not seeing anything else but the doors leading to the readying activities.
Before you knew it, a figure harshly knocked into your shoulder, sending a few dozen bags onto the floor. You yelped and glanced to see who carelessly stepped in your way.
And you scowled.
"Minhee..."
She gave an innocent look, a fake pout sent your way before she glanced down at your paper bags. A spark of anger ignited in your chest, but you forced yourself to freeze the emotion whilst she stepped away.
"Oh gosh. I'm so sorry," she uttered, tucking an annoying strand of her brunette lock behind her ear and gazing at your feet.
Without speaking, you crouched down to pick them up, but it only caused more gift bags to tumble from your arms, making you curse from embarrassment andl scathing anger.
"Oh, yn, I feel terrible. I would help, but I have class in 5 minutes," Minhee said with a dastardly tone. You could only look up at her with a clenched jaw.
She gave you a little smile before departing, and you were about to stand and yank her back by the arm, when a hand gripped your own shoulder, making you halt and breathe a little easier.
Glancing back, Jungwon stood behind you, boba eyes searching for your attention. You sighed and blinked at him, your lips etched with a sour look. Jungwon noticed and turned you back fully.
"You know you shouldn't give a reaction, right?" He chimed, momentarily gazing at the bags before crouching down and starting to collect them. His hair fell over his eyes and you clicked your tongue before following suit.
"I know, but she's so damn... annoying." You picked up the bags with an agitated snatch, frowning. Jungwon hummed, voice smooth, continuing.
"She is. But you know she's just jobless," Jungwon interjected, giving you a flick of his brown eyes.
Gosh, you know. But, it was like dealing with those popular and snobby kids in school a few years ago. They think they're on the high hill, and everyone was their doormat.
You thought by the time you arrived to uni, those people would disappear, or at least see you as nothing more than a ghost in the hallways. But no - Minhee was a thorn sticking into your side.
"Should I just let her then? Let her bully me?" You scoffed bitterly as you picked up about 30 bags hastily.
That earned a weary sigh from Jungwon as he followed suit. "Not what I said. I'm just saying that you can't let her get to you."
"Thanks so much for the advice..."
Jungwon snapped his eyes to you again at your sarcasm before standing with about 50 bags.
"I'm serious. People like her don't have a life. Now stop complaining and let's go. It's not worth it," Jungwon said as he jerked his head to the doors you were aiming for.
Not saying anything more, you picked up the remaining fifty bags and followed behind him, still trying to stitch your composure back together after Minhee tore it apart.
The breeze was soft, but icy as you and Jungwon made the route to the booth containing Danielle and another girl. They were crouched next to a brown box, conversing. They were interrupted when Jungwon gently placed the bags down into a little crate.
You were waiting to do the same, but he was taking so damn long that you ended up swerving around him impatiently. Not to mention that some of his bags tumbled out the crate, quivering because of the wind.
You huffed and nudged his elbow with yours, to which he looked at you with furrowed brows.
"What?"
"You're not even putting it in right. They're all flying away," you explained, gesturing to his shaky, paper bags. A scoff escaped his lips as he gripped them.
"How am I supposed to do it then?" Jungwon said with a snide as he turned his scrutinising gaze to you. To demonstrate, you moved him aside a little to access the crate on the surface of the booth.
Then, you let the bags hung on your wrist of one arm to strategically stand in the container to show him exactly how to do it. Jungwon watched, but his eyes showed no spark of realisation.
It was more of indifference.
"See?" You snapped your eyes to Jungwon in a matter-of-fact tone. He shook his head, rolling his eyes and proceeded to shove the bags into the crate.
"Does it matter? Just place it in efficiently. There's about 200 more gift bags to get." Jungwon continued to nonchalantly sort what he needed.
You stared incredulously, and scoffed. "But you might ruin it though-."
"You know what, just give me your remaining bags," he interjected when his hands were empty. Refusing to do so, you stepped back when he stepped forward swiftly.
You believed you could do it yourself and could do so efficiently. Which is why you held his arm with your free hand and glared at him.
"I can do it perfectly fine, Jungwon," You said, defending your strategy. Despite the hand on his arm, he moved forward and his fingers shot out to grab your remaining bags.
"Hey-."
Immediately, you stepped back and bumped into the pole of the booth as he came forward and he may have done it a little harshly because the next thing you know, gravity is pulling you backwards and your fingers dug into the wooden surface of the kiosk in an attempt to keep yourself upright.
With a yelp, you fell backwards when he basically pushed you, and landed on your butt. An immediate ache washed up your back, but there was also a tingle of pain in one of your fingers. Your forefinger to be exact.
Jungwon stared as you fell on your back, successfully gaining some of your bags, whilst the others remained crumpled around your wrist.
Guilt flashed across him as he saw your pained expression and glare, but he just stood there as you stared at your pastel green nails.
You gave out a disgruntled gasp, your eyes widening when you saw the abomination that just happened. With a swift turn of your head, you faced Jungwon, who flinched a little.
"You asshole!" You exclaimed in an exasperated tone, shoving your hand in his face. He was so glad the seniors weren't around to witness your yell.
"What did I do-?"
He was about to flare back in the same way, but he saw your finger, tip of the nail broken off haphazardly from the effort you exerted on the surface of the wooden table.
Jungwon froze and didn't know whether to laugh or be scared. From the glare you gave whilst standing up, he did feel a hint of apprehension.
With a slam of your hands, the bags were roughly placed on the table before you whirled around to meet Jungwon.
A look of amusement and anxiety twinkled in his eye before it quickly dispersed at your scowl. You invaded his space with your broken nail, a frown etched on your lips.
"Do you find this funny?" You accused Jungwon, stepping towards his taller figure. He didn't give an answer, but his shoulders hunched as if he was guiding the truth away from you- he found this funny.
Outraged, you nudged his chest softly, and he flinched, hiding the slight smirk of mirth. "Yang Jungwon, I'm actually going to kill you!"
He put up hands of surrender, brown eyes narrowed at you in defence.
"I didn't do shit," Jungwon asserted as he glanced down at you, remnants of amusement left in the slight crevices of his expression. You scoffed and cradled your poor nail with a desolate pout.
"You broke it," you whined to him. Your perfectly green pastel nail was now chipped off and somewhere in the dirt.
And gosh, did it tingle greatly with pain.
Upon hearing your cry, you saw Jay and Yunjin meander over whilst you mourned your nail, a flicker of annoyance immersing your whole being. Jungwon looked at them with a hand running through his silk strands.
The other two, seeing your distress, already knew what was coming. When they came over, Yunjin suppressed a chuckle when she saw your dramatic hug of your hand. Smirking, she crossed her arms whilst Jay rolled his eyes and hands tucked into his pockets.
"Want to explain why you're screeching like that?" She asked with a tease in her tone, mischievous eyes fluttering at you and Jungwon.
Though, you weren't in the mood for her cheeky comments and showed her your finger instead, showing the atrocity that was chipped on your nail. It took her a few seconds before she realised and made an 'ohhhh' gesture.
On the other hand, Jay couldn't help but smirk at the fact your green nails were ruined, and Jungwon stood there with a hint of remorse but more amusement than anything.
"Do you see this? He broke my nail. What am I supposed to do about this?" You asked tersely, your tone tense.
"Jungwon broke your nail?" Yunjin repeated, tilting her head and flickering her gaze to Jungwon. By the look on the younger one's face and the averted gaze, she guessed you weren't lying.
"Yes, he did. Do you think I would have ruined it?" You muttered back to Yunjin, examining your finger.
Jungwon glanced to you and your dramatic state. "I'm sorry, but I was just trying to get the bags."
"Asshole, I said I would put them down?"
"Yeah, in slow motion. I was trying to be time-efficient. We have more supplies to get," Jungwon retorted with furrowed brows, his body turned to you and a sassy hands on his hips.
His audacity, you thought. "And how did that work out?"
"Look, I said I'm sorry!" Jungwon threw his hands in the air in an exaggerated manner, his tone growing annoyed. You pouted whilst Jay and Yunjin giggled.
You're so glad you're the source of their little chuckles, but what were you supposed to do about this horror? You kept staring at your nail until Jay smirked and looked at Jungwon suspiciously.
"Why doesn't Jungwon just pay to get your nails done again?" Jay suggested. At that, it was as if your tingling nail disappeared from your thoughts. You slowly turned your gaze to Jungwon, who had a dropped frown.
And Jay's idea didn't seem bad at all. Your gaze melted into mischief and Jungwon looked at you as if he knew you would follow Jay's route.
"What a perfect idea!" You exclaimed, dropping the remaining bags into the crate and turning to Jay with a sweet smile. "Thank you, Jay."
Jay gave a mock salute, clicking his tongue as he did so. "You're welcome. Drain his card."
Jungwon scoffed in betrayal. "Are you kidding me?"
Shrugging, Jay ignored Jungwon's clear display of anguish and smiled at you. You were ecstatic and you honestly were due to change your nails anyway.
Heck, you wanted a different colour, charms, and obviously nail care because Jungwon obliterated your poor nail.
That's how you found yourself sitting in the nail salon at 4.30 pm, Jungwon to your left, and your right hand held by an older lady. The hum of the bright lights immersed the room in serenity, and Jungwon looked mildly bewildered.
It was as if he was a creature to a new environment, eyes focused intently on your hand that was being scoured by the technician, practically peeling off your old pastel green coat on your nails.
You noticed his curious eyes from the corner of your gaze, and looked up from your phone with a raised eyebrow.
"Did something catch your attention?" You asked, looking back at your phone and trying to find a nail design to enrapture your attention. Jungwon snapped out it, his focus leaving the curve of your hands and fingers.
"No, I'm just... confused. This is what you pay for every month?" He inquired, almost addled at the thought of paying so much for some... nails.
You sent a small smile to him as you shook your head in feign disappointment. "Why not? I'm pretty with it."
"You need nails to feel pretty?" Jungwon said with a deadpan look, eyes boring into yours as he leaned on the counter. You scoffed and shot your eyes to him.
"That's not what I mean. I like nails, and I want to do them for myself." You turned away to your phone on yesterday flat surface, scrolling through an endless list of designs in Pinterest.
He didn't react, but it seemed as up he still didn't understand. Deciding not to drag it on, he glanced at the screen, seeing your finger hover a few pictures of nails. From that, Jungwon concluded it must be inspiration. Except, you were incredibly indecisive and you couldn't choose a single idea to replicate.
Sighing in exasperation, you slid the phone into his view and pointed to it with determination.
"Choose one."
Jungwon shot an incredulous look as his face scrunched up into a scowl. "You want me to choose?"
Enthusiastic, you nodded silently in the chilled air of the salon. For Jungwon, a wave of uncertainty washed over him, and all he said was: " I don't know."
Of course he didn't. You frowned and grumbled under your breath as you scrolled more and more on the Pinterest page.
"You're actually useless," you mumbled, which earned a sharp look from him. Then, you added: "But since you're paying, I'll let you off."
You saw him turn away to gaze at the selection of nail polishes behind the technician, the array sending him into more confusion. He decided not to comment much. "Just don't drain my card."
"Thanks for giving me the idea," you said with a little smile full of mischief. Jungwon groaned and swiped the phone over to himself, scrolling.
When you whined and tried to get it back, he had selected a simple photo, one with the most simple French tips and a gloss coated over the nails. You weren't a simple girl - so this was unacceptable.
"Here. This one is nice," Jungwon interjected as he tilted the phone to your view. Shaking your head, a scoff escaped your lips.
"You didn't choose before and you don't get to choose now either. Give me," you chimed, batting your eyes at him with mock sweetness before snatching back your phone. He ran a hand through his raven hair and pouted a little from your clear rejection.
To be fair, he didn't choose them randomly. He genuinely thought the simple looks suited you, but how could he forget about your colourful personality.
Once the nails were cleaned, cut and filed, you finally chose a design and the technician went on her way to fulfill your vision. For a moment, all was silent, tranquil. A comfortable silence swayed between you and Jungwon, his brown eyes focused on your nails.
You couldn't help but think of him as a curious cat his head tilted, unblinking as he gazed at the operation on your fingers.
You noticed the way he didn't have any hostility in his face, no annoyance in his brows. He actually seemed peaceful, his chin leaned on his palm, hooded eyes sauntering over the curve of your hands.
When the technician pulled out the box of charms and twinkling gems, he snapped out of it and raised an eyebrow at the display, face inching closer.
"What are those?" Jungwon asked, addled. His tone just made you laugh as you turned to him, eyes turning to crescents.
"Charms?" You said, also mirroring his raised eyebrows. You don't understand why he was so confused, and it only gave you a realisation that he must be living under a rock.
He gave a little nod, leaning on his palm again, eyes never leaving your fingers.
"How much are they?"
"About 35,000 won?"
As soon as he heard that, Jungwon's balance on his palm practically faltered as he looked at you with a snap of his eyes. Shock swept over his face as he saw you completely unbothered.
"What!?"
About half an hour in, Jungwon yawned as he stared at your nails again, and then stared back at his. You also turned to Jungwon, seeing his tanned hands, the veins running down his arms, and you looked away.
Like before, an unfamiliar heat crept up your neck, and you became increasingly cautious of your gaze. To distract yourself, you started to speak.
"Why don't you get your nails cleaned. They're kind of crusty."
A scoff almost escaped Jungwon, brown eyes narrowing at you as if he was gripped by disbelief. "That's a new one."
Waving him off dismissively, you continued your ongoing pursuit of trying to get him to waste his money more but also make his nails look pretty.
"I'm just saying that even a guy can get his mails cleaned." You smiled a little, an underlying mischief buried in your tone. Jungwon shook his head, tilting his head at you again.
"My nails are just fine-."
Though Jungwon found himself giving his hand to another nail technician, his left hand was filed and cleaned by another lady.
A smile broke out on your lips the whole time, enjoying the slight burrow in his brows, the concentration and genuine curiosity of how the lady did it. Another serene silence immersed the air, comforting you.
With your first hand done, you sighed and perked up as you showed Jungwon your right hand with excitement. It made him turn to see the nude colour, the gems diligently engraved into your nail and an elegant gloss over the coated colour.
Absentmindedly, Jungwon clutched your hand with his free one, bringing it closer to himself, causing your breaths to catch in your throat, eyes unblinking. His hands were warm, and you swear, you felt a tingle run up your arm.
Maybe it was the fact you never had the touch of a man, but you kept your breaths calm, your words unspoken; though, to be so alarmed by Jungwon holding your hand made you feel pathetic, a heat running up your cheeks.
To you, it didn't seem like he noticed your flustered state because he was way too engrossed in seeing what was worth 35,000 won. Well, not until the silence was broken by the technician asking for his other hand.
Jungwon blinked and let go of your hand gently before giving his right hand underneath the glass. Only then did he realise that he held your hand so intently, and he cursed internally.
Even you didn't say anything, way too nestled by the thought of your cheeks heating up at the small contact of his warm hand.

HEESEUNG (ìŽíŹìč)
â between the blurry vision you clearly come to me. â
heeseung will always count on you for some fun.
you were at the park attending one of heeseung's late night shenanigans. this happened every friday and this was the most normal thing he's done in over the two months you two started going out at night.
currently, you were on the way to the convenience store that was next to the park to get ice cream since you lost a game of rock, paper, scissors. while you were gone, heeseung sat on the swing and rocked back and forth, waiting for you to come back.
just a few minutes later, he sees you making your way back to the swings and slowly stops the swing. time freezes as he sees your hair blow in the wind with the car's bright headlights creating a spotlight behind you. deep down, he always knew that he had somewhat of a crush on you but didn't make a move as he noticed you weren't interested with anything else besides being best friends.
"they didn't have tank boy so i got you a jaws bar i hope that's okay," you rambled once you arrives, digging through the plastic bag to give him his.
"y-yeah, that's fine. thanks." heeseung gulps, freezing up at how close you were to him.
you didn't catch onto heeseung's actions towards you and he couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief.
"what's wrong?" you asked, opening your ice cream.
"nothing, but can i ask you something later?"
"why later?"
heeseung leans over to take a bite of your ice cream, "because, now's not the right time."
"hey! that's basically half of it! what the heck hee-"

JAY (ì ìŽ)
â iâve fallen in love ever since you came to me â
jay always helps you with whatever you need without having been asked by you.
jay watches in awe as you waltz around the kitchen, grabbing whatever ingredients and materials needed to make his favorite cookies.
he wasn't the biggest fan of desserts but when it came to your baking, jay always folded right in half. he also finds it funny as this was the same way you reacted whenever he cooked for you. but it was more common for jay to cook rather than you bake.
"so, are you going to tell me what happened?" you asked as you whisked the ingredients in the bowl.
"what do you mean? nothing happened."
"yes, something did. you always come to me and ask for cookies if something's happened to you. you've done it ever since we were sophomores in high school." you say, pointing the whisk at the boy in front of you.
"okay, okay- jeez. you can put the weapon down." jay replies, putting his hands up in surrender.
you let out a giggle at his comment and go back to whisking, "this isn't a weapon."
"i promise you, nothing happened this time. i just wanted to eat your cookies. i've missed them."
you look up at jay to already see him looking right at you. quickly picking the bowl up, you move towards the stove and start putting the dough on the trays.
jay gets up from his spot and makes his way over to you, leaning in close to where your back was touching his chest.
"here, let me help."
he grabs the tray that was ready and puts it in the oven before setting a timer on his phone.
"thanks," your words begins to fade as you finally realize how close he was to you.
'has he always been this handsome?'
'looking beautiful, like always.'

JAKE (ì ìŽíŹ)
â everything i believed in came crashing down â
jake will always take care of and protect you.
"hyung."
"yeah?"
"you're in love with y/n, aren't you?"
jake chokes on the soda he was drinking and looks at jungwon with wide eyes.
"are you crazy?! why would i love her?"
jungwon sighs while shaking his head and turns to where you were helping niki cut his birthday cake.
it was super obvious to everyone around jake that he has a massive crush on you. from the way he took care of you and even his tone of voice when he talks to you was so obvious.
just as jake was going to open his mouth to rebuttal again, jungwon nudges his torso and smiled as you made your way over to the two of them with two slices of cake.
"here you go! got a bigger slice for you jake, since you loved it last time at my birthday."
"thanks my love, i appreciate it." he pats your head and watches jungwon thank you for the cake as well.
"my love? yeah- you're totally not in love." jungwon snorts, watching his friend stare at you with heart eyes pouring out of them.

SUNGHOON (ë°ì±í)
â time endlessly went toward eternity also disappeared at the blink of an eye. â
sunghoon will always come to you no matter the time and day.
music fills the car as sunghoon races down the highway in the middle of the night. it's one of those nights where you called sunghoon up because you couldn't fall asleep. it's always a hit or miss with him and tonight's one of the lucky moments you get to be with him.
sunghoon turns his head to face you as sees you through the right side mirror with closed eyes, letting the wind blow through your hair. if he listens in closely, he could hear you quietly humming along to the song that was playing.
just as he exits the highway, your face brightens up as you notice that it's the exit to the beach.
"are we going to the beach?!" you say excitedly, sitting up.
"yeah, it's been a while so i figured we could go when no one's around." he replies, smiling softly.
"thank you! thank you! thank you! i love you so much!" sunghoon freezes for a millisecond before patting your arm as you threw your arms around him for a hug.
"yeah yeah, love ya too." he replies, clearing his throat. sunghoon shoots a quick glance over to see if you've noticed any change.
soon enough, the two of you climb out of the car and sunghoon watches as you run towards the water, tripping over your own feet from excitement.
"calm down! the water isn't going anywhere. what if you twist your ankle." sunghoon scolds once he makes his way over to you.
"i'll be fine! besides, doesn't the water look pretty tonight?"
"yeah, it does."
you could feel sunghoon's gaze boring into the side of your face and you know that he hasn't even looked out towards the water ever since you've arrived.
"hey y/n?"
"yeah?"
sunghoon stares at you for a couple of seconds before turning to face the way, letting out a sigh. not now, but maybe later.
"what, do i have something on my face?"

HEESEUNG â top of the head kisses
top of the head kisses are just so cute i HAD to assign to heeseung because he actually fits it so well??? like heâd think top of the head kisses speak volumes of both love and comfort, which is something heâd often do.
Heeseung didnât know what to do. He had rarely seen you cry, but there you were in the apartment with red, puffy eyes. As panicked as you were, he was probably even more worried. Seeing you try to quickly wipe your eyes and hide the reason for your tears broke his heart even more. Unsure if he was processing things correctly, he immediately went to wash his hands as he had just come back home, barely drying them as he hurried to have you in his embrace.
âCome here,â he said softly, getting onto the couch and extending his arms to you. You moved into his embrace, and his arms wrapped around you tightly. Heeseung didnât pressure you to tell him what was wrong, understanding from the start that you didnât want him to see you cry. He had just happened to come to your place early.
Instead of asking questions, he rubbed your back in soothing circles, offering his silent support as comfort, which you deeply appreciated. Even if he thought his gestures didnât mean much, they meant the world to you. Being in his presence made you feel comfortable enough to finally let yourself cry while he continued to worry silently. He didn't want to overwhelm you, so he had to calm himself for your sake.
"I'm here for you," Heeseung murmured softly, his voice steady and reassuring. "You donât have to say anything if you donât want to. Just know that I'm here."
It didnât take long for you to finally spill everything to Heeseung, who listened attentively and offered comforting words and advice. His patience and understanding helped ease the burden you were carrying. After you finished, you thanked him quietly, remaining in his arms, enjoying the soothing silence together. His gentle back rubs relaxed you, and you found yourself slowly drifting into a daze.
Feeling safe and comfortable in his embrace was a comfort you couldnât take for granted. Heeseung recognized this as a sign of your trust and appreciation, and he smiled softly to himself. He gently caressed your hair, pressing a soft kiss on the top of your head. Eventually, both of you drifted off to sleep together, wrapped in the warmth of each other's presence.
JAY â forehead kisses
ohhh i associate jay with forehead kisses so bad!! they are just so quick but sweet / intimate, so i can just imagine jay often giving forehead kisses. i feel like he would definitely view it as a special thing, so itâs something he just canât pass on.
âI told you to take care of yourself, didnât I?â Jay tsked, entering the room with medication and a wet towel. âLook at you nowâin bed, sniffling and barely able to sit up properly.â
âOkayâŠbut I don't usually get sick,â you sniffled, your nose running as you looked at Jay, who took a seat by your side.
âThatâs still no excuse not to take care of yourself,â Jay sighed, reaching over to feel your forehead, frowning at the heat radiating from it. âNow youâre stuck with a fever.â
âIâm sorry, I didnât want to trouble you with your work today. I just had toââ
âDonât even finish that sentence,â Jay interrupted firmly. âIâm your boyfriend. Iâd drop anything and everything to make sure youâre okay. I want to be someone you can reach out to without hesitation, alright?â
You nodded, managing a small smile at his reassurance. âI wish I could kiss you right now.â
âWell, I canât afford to get sick,â Jay smiled, reaching out for your hand and giving it a reassuring squeeze to make up for the lack of intimacy. âWho will take care of you if I do, hm?â
âYouâre right,â you sighed. âI wouldnât want anyone to have this throbbing headache I have right now.â
Jay leaned in closer, his breath warm against your skin as he gently brushed a few strands of hair away from your forehead. He pressed a tender kiss to your feverish skin, lingering for a moment as if willing his strength into you. âYouâll get better soon,â he murmured against your skin. âJust rest and let me take care of you.â
You closed your eyes, feeling the warmth of his kiss and the comfort it brought. âThank you, Jay,â you whispered, your voice barely audible. âThat was nice.â
âNo need to thank me,â he replied softly, placing his hand back onto your forehead. âI just wanted you to know that Iâm always here for you to give what you need. Now, letâs get you some medicine so you can rest and bring that fever down.â
He handed you the medication and helped you take it, his touch gentle and patient. The combination of the medication and your fever was already making you drowsy as Jay pulled the blanket over you.
âBefore I sleep,â you murmured, your voice barely above a whisper. âCan I get another kiss?â
Jay chuckled softly, his eyes crinkling at the corners. âYouâre insatiable,â he teased, shaking his head slightly. He put and adjusted the damp towel on your forehead, making sure it was in place. âIâll give you more kisses later. For now, rest and get better, alright?â
You nodded, feeling a sense of comfort and warmth from his presence. âOkay,â you whispered, your eyes growing heavier by the second. As you slipped into slumber, you felt a soft, lingering kiss on your forehead, Jayâs silent promise that he would always be there for you.
JAKE â lip kisses
this guy is definitely super clingy, so thereâs no way heâs going to be missing out on lip kisses!! heâs definitely the type to want several to be content đ OOUU i bet heâd even pout his way through to get them BUT honestly, he has super nice lips anyways so it would be hard to refuse in the first place đââïž
âCome on, Jake, it was just a prank!â you kept trying to explain to your boyfriend, Jake, who was âangryâ about the stunt you pulled on him today. âI didnât mean to give you that huge of a fright!â
âThat huge of a fright? It was bugsâand you know how much I hate bugs,â Jake said in disbelief, recalling the fake bug you had placed on the floor, getting the shivers just thinking about it again. âAnd you just watched me try to ask you for help to kill it, forcing me to âkill itââonly to place another near my foot! I almost passed out.â
âAnd you screamed so loud, saying there was now a family of bugs living in our house,â you said, now unable to hold back your laughter. âYou shouldâve seen your face!â
âYou wouldnât have said that if you didnât know they were fake!â Jake protested, trying to sound stern but unable to hide the amusement creeping into his voice.
âOh, come on, you have to admit it was a little funny,â you teased, still giggling at the memory.
Jake crossed his arms, trying to maintain a stern expression but failing to hide the slight twitch of a smile at the corner of his lips. âYou nearly gave me a heart attack,â he said, feigning seriousness. âI seriously cannot forgive you.â
You tried pleading over and over again, trying to get Jakeâs attention, but he remained unmoved, intentionally facing away every time you tried to get into his view. He was determined not to let you off easily.
âJake, come on,â you begged, attempting to step into his line of sight once more. âIâve said Iâm sorry a million times!â
âThatâs clearly not enough,â he pouted, crossing his arms once more. âIâm going to need more convincing.â
âConvincing? Like what? Iâll do anything.â
âAnything?â he asked, raising an eyebrow, the hint of a mischievous grin on his face.
âAnything within reason,â you replied, eyeing him warily. âWhat do you have in mind? I donât like that grin on your faceâŠâ
Jake pretended to think it over, tapping his chin theatrically. Then, in a swift move, he wrapped his arms around your waist, eliciting a surprised yelp from you. Before you could process what was happening, he began smothering you with kisses, making sure you couldnât escape.
You tried to put up a âfight,â but Jake was persistent in getting what he believed was his revenge, or rather, his favor. He finally stopped by giving you one last kiss on the lips, pulling back with one of his dorky smiles, his arms still wrapped around you.
âSeriouslyâthis is what you wanted?â you asked, breathless from the playful struggle.
Jake nodded, still grinning. âYup, it was all part of my master plan,â he said, tightening his hold on you affectionately. âThe only way to forgive you for that prank of yours.â
âWhatever,â you said with a roll of your eyes, but you couldn't help smiling. Your response elicited another giggle from him, and he leaned in to give you another kiss.
âI mean it,â Jake said softly, pulling back just enough to look into your eyes. âIâll forgive you for anything if it means I get to do this.â
SUNGHOON â hand kisses
i donât think sunghoon would HATE showing intimacy, but i feel like he could be more awkward with it. he would still want to show some form of intimacy, so hand kisses would be the way to go! because, one, itâs pretty cute and, two, itâs easier for him to hide his face after doing something more romantic.
âSeriously, Sunghoon, that guy was just an old classmate of mine,â you reassured Sunghoon, who kept insisting that he didn't mind, but his slight pout proved otherwise. âI didnât want to ruin the mood of our dateâhe just suddenly came over and wanted to chat.â
Sunghoon shrugged, trying to appear indifferent, but you could see the hint of jealousy in his eyes. âItâs fine, really,â he said, though his tone betrayed him.
You gently nudged him, smiling softly. âCome on, I could tell you werenât thrilled about it. But I promise, it was nothing.â
He sighed, finally meeting your gaze. âOkay, maybe I was a little annoyed,â he admitted. âI just didnât like how he was taking up your attention.â
âIâm sorry,â you said. âI think he didnât know we were on a date, or even that we were dating.â
Sunghoon wasnât too expressive with his intimacy, as it was something he was still trying to get used to. But the thought of you with that old classmate of yours only seemed to upset him more, and he wanted to do something about it. He really wanted to show that he loves you, even if he couldnât always put it into words.
âIâll work on it,â he said, grabbing your hand and placing a soft kiss on it. âSo that people like him donât interrupt our dates again.â
You smiled at his gesture, getting ready to tease him. âSo you were jealous after all?â
âI was not,â he insisted.
âHm, sure,â you said with a grin, watching as his face turned a shade of pink. âWhat can I do to get an actual kiss?â
âDonât push it,â he said, trying to maintain his composure but unable to hide a small smile. He felt more relieved than he was earlier and was determined to work on giving you all the kisses you deserved.
Sunghoon glanced at you, a newfound confidence in his eyes. âIâll get better at this, you know. At showing you how much you mean to me.â
âI know you will,â you said, returning back the same hand kiss that soon caught Sunghoon in another pink mess.
SUNOO â cheek kisses
CMONNN sunoo and cheek kisses have to be literal perfection. like they go hand to hand and they definitely suit sunoo very well. i could see him doing it quite often and wearing a big smile on his face while doing so. itâs pretty self explanatory as sunooâs image & personality speaks for themselves ^^ i love him
âCan you even believe he would say something like that?â Sunoo exclaimed, throwing his hands in the air and showing you a dramatically exaggerated facial expression. You nodded, trying to keep a straight face but soon smiling at him despite yourselfâhis âupsetâ expressions were just too cute.
âI know, right?â you replied, trying to match his enthusiasm. âThe nerve of some people!â
Sunoo sighed, flopping down onto the couch beside you. âItâs just so frustrating sometimes,â he said, pouting a little. âI mean, who does he think he is?â
You chuckled, bringing him closer to you. âIâm sure he didnât mean it in a bad way. But honestly, I love how expressive you get about these things.â
âWhat?â Sunoo asked, a little incredulous.
âI mean, youâre so cute,â you said with a smile, planting a couple of kisses on his cheek. âItâs hard to listen when youâre this adorable.â
âWere you even listening to me complain about him?!â Sunoo protested, trying to sound offended but failing to hide his amusement.
âOf course I was,â you assured him, grinning. âI just got a little distracted by how cute you are.â
He sighed dramatically, though his eyes were sparkling with laughter. âI donât know whether to be flattered or annoyed.â
âLetâs go with flattered,â you teased, giving him one more kiss on the cheek. âBesides, you know I love listening to you.â
âFine,â Sunoo conceded, finally breaking into a smile. âBut, you know I canât be the only one on the receiving end, right?â
You gave him a questioning look while his smile continued to grow wider. He soon cupped your face, planting a series of kisses on your cheek. Any memory of what he was complaining about was quickly forgotten as he focused entirely on showering you with attention instead.
Sunoo pulled back slightly, his eyes sparkling with mischief. âI think you also need to be reminded of how adorable you can be, too.â
JUNGWON â neck kisses
i believe in clingy jwon đ i feel like since heâs always around you, heâd probably do it subconsciously, oblivious to your reddened face until you say something about it. and if you didnât say anything, i fully believe this man would continue to latch onto you and could stay that way forever ⊠no complaints!
"It's been so long since I've seen you," Jungwon said, walking out of the bedroom and taking a seat at the counter. You hummed, chuckling as you continued cooking one of his favorite meals.
"It's only been a week," you replied, glancing over your shoulder with a smile.
Jungwon sighed dramatically, resting his chin in his hand. âA week without our cuddle timeâsomething you still havenât given me.â
âCome on, youâre hungry. I have to cook you something, donât I?â you laughed, shaking your head. âLet me finish, then we can eat and cuddle all you want.â
Jungwon pouted slightly, watching you with a mix of impatience and admiration. âYouâre going to take a whileâŠâ
You glanced at him with a playful smile. âPatience, my love. Youâll get what you want very soon.â
You heard him hum in response as you continued focusing on the food you were preparing. But you should have known not to take his silence for granted. Before long, Jungwon came up behind you and wrapped his arms around your waist.
You felt his warmth against your back, and a smile spread across your face. âI told you, just a bit longer,â you said, still stirring the pot.
Jungwon rested his chin on your shoulder, his breath warm against your skin. âI know, but I couldnât resist. Your cooking isnât the only thing I missed.â
You laughed softly, turning your head slightly to look at him. âYouâre impossible.â
âAnd you love me for it,â he murmured, tightening his embrace. He soon kissed your neck a couple of times, which made you giggle slightly as it was quite ticklish.
âOkay, stop,â you said, trying to suppress your laughter. âYouâre going to make me mess up.â
Jungwon pulled back just enough to see your face, a playful smile on his lips. âSorry, I couldnât help myself.â
You shook your head, smiling despite the slight disruption. âJust wait a little longer. The sooner I finish, the sooner we can cuddle.â
âAlright, I can wait,â Jungwon said, giving you one last gentle kiss near your collarbone. âIâm still going to hug you though.â
âThen whatâs the point of waiting,â you chuckled. âArenât we practically cuddling right now?â
Jungwon grinned, resting his chin on your shoulder. âTrue, but itâs not quite the same as when weâre both settled on the couch together.â
You decided not to question him anymore, letting him hug you as you finished cooking. After all, you missed him a lot too and appreciated the closeness.
âOkay then, but no more neck kissesâthatâs only going to distract me,â you said with a playful grin.
He tightened his embrace slightly, his breath warm against your neck. âIâll take it,â he murmured. âIâm just happy to be close to you.â
NIKI â butterfly kisses
i feel like he would have to get used to showing intimacy so he would probably be a little awkward at first. i feel like butterfly kisses are something that suits his teasing tendencies so he does it to get your attention. sooner or later, butterfly kisses have just became something he does often, as he enjoys it and you find it cute as well.
âEver heard of personal space, Niki?â you said angrily to the guy who had randomly plopped onto you on the couch. Niki just giggled, ignoring your protest, and you sighed, trying to continue watching your show on TV. You knew from experience that scolding him would only encourage him to push your buttons further, so you decided to let him do his thing. After all, he usually got bored and left you alone eventually.
But today, your lack of response seemed to annoy him, and he clearly wasnât satisfied yet. As you kept your eyes glued to the TV screen, he secretly shifted his position, moving closer until his face was right in front of your neck. He planted his face in the crook of your neck and started fluttering his eyelashes against your skin, giving you butterfly kisses.
You squirmed, trying not to react but finding it increasingly difficult as the tickling sensation spread. âNiki, stop!â you laughed, unable to hold back any longer. âThat tickles!â
He pulled back slightly, a mischievous grin on his face. âFinally, a reaction!â he declared triumphantly.
âI was trying to ignore you,â you said, swatting at him playfully. âBut youâre way too persistent.â
âOf course I am,â Niki replied, sitting up with a satisfied smile. âI know how to get your attention.â
âWell, now that you have it, what do you want?â you asked, raising an eyebrow.
Niki leaned back against the couch, pretending to ponder the question. âHmm, good question. I didnât really think that far ahead.â
You shook your head, amused. âTypical Niki. You just wanted to annoy me, didnât you?â
âMaybe a little,â he admitted, laughing. âBut also, I was thinking we could do something more fun than just sitting here watching TV.â
âLike what?â you asked, curious despite yourself.
Nikiâs eyes lit up with excitement. âHow about we go out for ice cream? My treat!â
You considered it for a moment, then nodded. âI thought you wanted a kiss or something,â you teased. âAlright, ice cream sounds good. But only if you promise not to bug me for the rest of the day.â
Niki chuckled, standing up from the couch. âA kiss would be nice too, but I guess I can settle for ice cream,â he said, giving you a playful wink. âAnd I promise Iâll be on my best behavior.â
âGood,â you said, getting up to join him. âBecause I need at least a few hours of peace.â
âDonât worry,â Niki assured you, holding the door open. âIâll keep my promiseâas long as you donât change your mind about that kiss.â
You laughed, shaking your head as you followed him out. âYou never give up, do you?â
âNot when it comes to you.â

INK MY HEART. Y. JUNGWON

synopsis: a lost bet leads you to flirt with your local tattoo artist yang jungwon.
warning: none
genre: tattoo artist! jungwon x reader, fluffy, awkward reader, kinda flirty jungwon
remember to reblog and like for more content!

the bet was lost in a haze of laughter and drinks, leaving you standing awkwardly outside a tattoo shop, heart racing with nerves. you had to flirt with the tattoo artistâa stranger whose name you didn't even know.
taking a deep breath, you pushed open the door, the bell chiming softly above your head. the shop was dimly lit, filled with the buzz of tattoo machines and the scent of ink.
your eyes fell on him immediatelyâa tall, lean figure with an array of tattoos peeking out from beneath his rolled-up sleeves. Jungwon, the tattoo artist â you read on the label on his shirt.
"hi there," you managed to squeak out, feeling your cheeks flush hot with embarrassment. the words felt like a clumsy stumble out of your mouth, tripping over nerves and uncertainty. as they hung in the air, you couldn't help but cringe inwardly at how awkward you must sound.
in that moment, a flurry of thoughts raced through your mind like a whirlwind. should you have said something different? was "hi there" too casual, too hesitant? would Jungwon think you were a complete fool for stumbling over such a simple greeting?
your heart pounded erratically in your chest, the sound of blood rushing in your ears drowning out all other noise. you cursed yourself for not being more composed, more charmingâlike the confident flirt you had imagined yourself to be in this scenario.
but as you stole a glance at Jungwon, you found yourself momentarily frozen by the intensity of his gaze. his eyes, dark and enigmatic, seemed to hold a silent promise of understanding, as if he could sense the whirlwind of nerves and emotions raging within you.
heat crept up your neck, suffusing your cheeks with a deep crimson blush. you wished you could disappear into the floor, escape the suffocating embarrassment that seemed to cling to you like a second skin.
"smooth," you chided yourself inwardly, mentally kicking yourself for your lack of grace. you had imagined this flirtatious encounter a thousand times in your head, rehearsing witty lines and charming smiles. and yet, when faced with the reality of the moment, all those practiced words seemed to evaporate into thin air.
Jungwon raised an eyebrow, a small smile playing on his lips. He seemed to sense your nerves, but instead of easing them, he leaned against the counter, looking amused.
"what can I do for you?" he asked, his voice smooth and enticing.
you fumbled for words, trying to come up with a plausible excuse for being there. "uh, i, um... i heard you're the best," you blurted out, mentally cringing at your lack of subtlety.
Jungwon chuckled softly, a hint of mischief in his eyes. "flattery won't get you everywhere," he replied, gesturing for you to take a seat.
panic set in as you realized you hadn't even thought about what tattoo you wanted. you glanced around the shop, your eyes landing on a display of intricate silk designs.
"I-I want a silk tattoo," you blurted out, feeling your palms grow sweaty.
Jungwon arched an eyebrow, a playful glint in his eyes. " silk tattoo, huh? any particular design in mind?"
your mind went blank, the pressure mounting as Jungwon patiently waited for an answer. and then, without thinking, you blurted out the first thing that came to mind.
"a small book," you said, gesturing to your ankle. "right there."
Jungwon's lips twitched with amusement as he prepared his equipment. "a book, it is," he said, his voice teasing.
the tattoo chair felt more like a throne of nerves as you settled into it, Jungwon's skilled hands preparing to ink your skin. your heart raced wildly in your chest, and you cursed your luck for getting yourself into this situation.
as Jungwon began to sketch the outline of the small book on your ankle, you found yourself struggling to come up with anything coherent to say.
the tattoo machine buzzed softly in the background, its rhythmic hum filling the air. each buzz sent a jolt of nerves through you, the sound echoing in your ears like a relentless drumbeat. anxiety twisted in the pit of your stomach, making it hard to focus on anything else. as Jungwon worked his magic, the sound of the ink pen seemed to grow louder, each stroke of the needle sending shivers down your spine. you couldn't help but wonder if Jake would ever believe the wild tale that was unfolding in the tattoo shop that night.
"uh, so, do you, uh, get a lot of people asking for silk tattoos?" you blurted out, mentally cringing at the awkwardness of your question.
Jungwon glanced up from his work, a small smile playing on his lips. "not as many as you'd think," he replied, his voice smooth and reassuring. "but I have to say, you're the first to ask for a book."
you flushed hot with embarrassment, feeling like a fool for blurting out such a random request. "I, um, I like books," you muttered, your cheeks burning.
Jungwon chuckled softly, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "nothing wrong with that," he replied, his tone light and teasing.
"o-ow!" you exclaimed suddenly, more out of nerves than actual pain.
Jungwon paused, looking up at you with concern. "are you okay? Did that hurt?"
you shook your head quickly, feeling foolish for overreacting. "n-no, I'm fine. just... nervous, i guess."
Jungwon's touch was like a soothing balm on your frayed nerves, the warmth of his hand seeping through your skin and calming the storm of anxiety within you. as he squeezed your leg reassuringly, you felt a rush of comfort wash over you, his gentle gesture a silent promise of support.
"you're doing great," his voice, soft and encouraging, whispered in your ear, barely audible over the hum of the tattoo machine. the tension in your muscles eased at his words, and you found yourself relaxing into the chair, surrendering to the moment.
a nervous smile tugged at your lips as you met Jungwon's gaze, finding warmth and understanding in his eyes. "th-thanks," you stammered, your voice barely above a whisper. heat rushed to your cheeks, coloring them a rosy hue that you were sure Jungwon could see.
his eyes crinkled at the corners as he returned your smile, a silent reassurance that filled you with a sense of ease. in that moment, with Jungwon's hand still resting gently on your leg, you felt a flutter of something unfamiliar yet exhilarating stirring within you.
it was a mixture of nervous anticipation and a budding attraction, the kind that made your heart race and your stomach flutter with butterflies. you couldn't deny the warmth spreading through you at Jungwon's touch, the way his presence seemed to envelop you in a cocoon of safety and comfort.
as the tattooing continued, each stroke of the needle sending a jolt of sensation through your skin, you found yourself stealing glances at Jungwon whenever you dared. his focused expression, the way his eyes crinkled in concentration, the faint hint of a smile playing on his lipsâit all added to the growing flutter in your chest.
and when Jungwon's hand brushed against yours as he adjusted his position, a jolt of electricity shot through you, leaving your skin tingling in its wake. it was a fleeting touch, innocent yet charged with unspoken possibilities, leaving you craving more.
lost in a whirlwind of emotions, you found yourself drawn to Jungwon in ways you couldn't quite explain. his presence was a comforting anchor in the midst of your swirling thoughts and emotions, grounding you in the here and now.
but as the tattooing neared its end, you couldn't help but feel a pang of disappointment at the thought of Jungwon's touch leaving your skin. the warmth of his hand, the gentle reassurance in his voiceâthey had become a lifeline in this whirlwind of nerves and anticipation.
and when the final stroke of the needle marked the completion of the tattoo, you couldn't suppress the sigh of both relief and regret that escaped your lips. Jungwon's hand lingered for a moment longer, the warmth of his touch searing into your skin, before he withdrew with a gentle smile.
as you sat there, heart still racing and cheeks flushed, you couldn't help but feel a sense of loss at the absence of Jungwon's touch.
"okay, all done," Jungwon announced finally, wiping away the excess ink. "take a look."
you leaned forward eagerly, your heart pounding in your chest. snd there it wasâthe small book tattooed beautifully on your ankle, its pages fluttering delicately in the imaginary breeze.
"it's perfect," you breathed, feeling a surge of emotion welling up inside you.
Jungwon grinned, a proud glint in his eyes. "glad you think so," he replied, his voice soft.
as you admired the tattoo, a comfortable silence settled over the room. you couldn't help but steal glances at Jungwon, admiring the way his eyes sparkled in the dim light, the way his tattooed arms flexed with every movement.
"um, so, what now?" you asked, suddenly realizing that you didn't quite know what to do next.
Jungwon chuckled, a warm sound that made your heart flutter. "well, first you'll need to sign a few forms," he said, gesturing to the paperwork on the table. "and then... well, that's up to you."
you nodded, trying to focus on the paperwork as your mind raced with possibilities. but when you glanced up, you noticed something strange on the receipt Jungwon handed you.
"wait a minute," you said, furrowing your brow in confusion. "what's this?"
Jungwon leaned in, his voice dropping to a low whisper. "that," he said, a mischievous glint in his eyes, "is my number."
your eyes widened in surprise, a surge of excitement coursing through you. "y-your number?"
Jungwon winked, a playful smirk tugging at his lips. "in case you ever need a touch-up," he replied, his voice teasing.
before you could respond, Jungwon was already moving on to his next client, leaving you with a fluttering heart and a piece of paper burning a hole in your pocket.
as you stepped out into the bustling city, the tattoo on your ankle felt like a secret, a reminder of the unexpected and thrilling encounter with Jungwon. and as you pulled out the piece of paper with his number, a smile tugged at your lips.

heâs the picture of innocence, laid out on the pink towel heâd picked from the options youâd shown him before coming to the beach. heâs using his elbows to prop himself up, a cheeky grin playing on his lips. his burnt-orange hair flutters in the wind.
âis it the new perfume i bought you? the guava one?â
you narrow your eyes at him before pushing your sunglasses back into position, lying down on your own yellow towel with your magazine propped above your head, blocking out the sun.Â
âmm-mm. iâm ignoring you.â
thereâs a moment of serenity where you think heeseung has given up, but then he makes a dramatic show of rolling off his beach towel onto yours. thereâs a little sliver of golden sand between them, so he sprays some onto your skin when he presses his body against yours.
you swat at him with your magazine, fighting back an amused grin.
âyouâre so stupid! get off me.â youâre trying your best to sound annoyed, but heâs wriggling against you like a worm, and, frankly, itâs messing with your psyche.Â
âsorry, i canât help it. iâm hungry.â he bites your shoulder playfully. âcan i eat you, oh guava princess?â
you groan in exasperation, shielding the blush on your cheeks with your hand. hopefully, he thinks it's just a sunburn.
âhave you gotten to the part where they find the golden mango?â you gesture languidly at the abandoned book on heeseungâs towel. youâd recommended it to him so that the two of you can discuss your favorite parts, and he typically reads everything you suggest. today, youâve been waiting patiently to hear his thoughts. heeseung smirks.
âthatâs a non-answer.â
âthatâs also a non-answer.â
your boyfriend watches you for a couple of seconds, seemingly mulling over your rebuttal. eventually, he gives you a wide grin.
âokay. yes.â
at that, you let out a surprised giggle, eyebrows raising. he usually plays your game a little longer.
âinteresting. you drive a hard bargain.â
heeseung smiles.Â
âonly for you, baby.â
you canât hide your blush now. heat flushes on your cheeks, and you have to bite your lip to keep from smiling back at him too hard. heâs still lying on your towel next to you.
âfine. but,â you turn over a little, a manicured hand coming down on heeseungâs bare chest. âif i pee myself or something, itâs over for you. i drank two whole lemonades before this.â your boyfriend only watches you with an amused glimmer in his eyes, rosy fondness painted across his cheeks.
âno promises.â
you barely have a second to complain before heeseung springs into action, his typical routine of launching himself over you to barrage you with tickles inciting a bout of giggles from your mouth. he keeps most of his body weight off of you, leaning down to press chaste kisses against your cheek as he continues his assault on the sides of your torso.
heâs enveloped in what is indeed the new guava perfume he purchased for you, laughing when he makes you giggle by letting out a cartoony whistle near your neck. itâs all funâit always is, when youâre with him.Â
heâs relentless today, red in the cheeks from laughing at the shrieks coming from your mouth. he smells like sunscreen and coconut.
âi think,â he pants, when heâs finally tickled you into exhaustion, âthat iâve fulfilled my duty.â
you give him a humorously deadpan look.Â
âyou think?â
his cheeks scrunch up with a smile, before leaning down and planting a sweet kiss against your lips.
âmhm.â
âyouâre so lucky i didnât pee myself.â
âoh, i know,â he says, rolling off of you and crawling slowly back to his towel. âbut you will when you hear what i have to say about this book.â
you sit up, lightning fast.
âlee heeseung!â
