“Babe?” Satoru heard Rie’s voice from the other line. His eyes looked down at his lap as he heard her say the endearment term. It made him feel worse about what he was about to do. Satoru felt terrible for having to do this to her because she’s already been into too many troubles because of him. But he already knew how bad it would be if he delayed the confession and the explanation. If he’ll be allowed to give one. Aside from that, he felt like he couldn’t afford to spend another minute without making himself open to a possible reconciliation with you.

Half of Satoru’s brain knows that it’s impossible from how you basically kicked him out of your house after he made love to you. But the other part keeps denying it, insisting that hard work will always pay off no matter what happens. He doesn’t know how hard you’ll make him work to earn your heart back again, but he’s sure that it’d be nothing compared to what he put you through. It’d be nothing compared to what he made you feel.

“Uh…where are you right now?” He asked, letting out a shaky breath as he looked back to your apartment window. He wanted to get out of the car and go back to you. He wanted to stay in bed with you just to feel your sleeping form beside him again. Satoru knows that everything that he’s been doing these past few months is making decisions that he never thought through. 

He’s been in a pinch since the night he kissed Rie, and a week after that, he broke up with you. Two weeks after that, he physically hurt you, put you in a hospital bed, and now accused his best friend of shooting for you behind his back. He’s been doing everything too fast, moving too fast, talking without thinking, jumping to conclusions with no aforethought, and recklessly making decisions when shit gets too tough for him. Now, all of this has finally decided to run after him and bite him on the ass. It already cost him a lot.
