How can a person forget his home?! His comfort, after returning from university, was to enjoy a cup of coffee, his ritual for completing his tasks, and at the end of the week in front of the television watching a comedy movie.
The house and the road to it were beautiful. Life was lived with sincerity and warmth of moments. It was our happiness to return to our homes.
Happiness became a wish, and a loaf of bread became a miniature happiness.
I am writing to you in extreme pain. My house has been damaged, and I have lost my university laptop. Literally every time I check the news, something horrible has happened at Nuseirat, which is suffering from non-stop attacks. I'm really worried for Mahmoud's family (@mahmoudfamily1), who are stuck in Nuseirat right now. His campaign barely has any donations and support, and these funds are the lifeline for his 17 family members, including 10 children and a 2-year-old baby!
Nuseirat Camp has been bombed again, and Israeli tanks are advancing close to the camp!! I fear what the tanks will do to the people at Nuseirat. The Israeli military is now attacking Nuseirat Camp on an hourly basis, and what we see on the news is a mere fraction of the devastation being dealt to Nuseirat. Mahmoud also told me that the drones have been shooting at people non-stop. And with all the bombings, houses are collapsing with people still inside them, and many people are trapped and buried under the rubble.
I've been writing a lot of posts (1, 2, 3) about Nuseirat and Mahmoud's campaign recently because I'm really, really worried. Mahmoud has only raised $1,217 CAD out of $80,000 goal, last donation was more than 24 hours ago, and more often than not he does not even get one donation a day. How do I make you care? He has already lost relatives, including a one-month-old baby, to this genocide. His family has been injured. Can we please show them more support?

At work we have a customer who is notorious for being an issue. Today she emailed in asking if we could ship to Israel. We canât, we only ship domestic. But I just couldnât answer her. I couldnât email back. I had to send it to my boss.
I donât know anything about her or her politics or her beliefs. But the thought of someone casually sending a $200 gift to Israel without a second thought just kind of broke me. Please Help My Uncle and his Family Exit Gaza

Hello, everybody. My father started this campaign for my uncle Basem and his family who are stuck in Gaza during this war. This is my uncle and I at the Gaza Port back in December 2021 when I got to visit.
This is my uncle now.
My uncle and his family are stuck in Gaza and donât have any other options to leave at the moment except to pay the fee to Egypt. They are alone in Gaza as my dadâs other siblings and my grandmother are not there. My cousin Abood (shown below on the very right) is also recovering from two surguries he had during the war after his appendix burst,
and my cousin Farah is struggling to fight an infection. They are also having much difficulty finding food for the 6 of them and are living out of a tent now that the north (where they're from) isn't permissible to go back too. If you could give anything it would help, as paying the fee for them to exit through Egypt is our only option at the moment. We appreciate everybody's efforts.

My parents took great care of us, giving us everything they had, and my childhood was wonderful to some extent.
I lived through four wars, the latest being in 2021, during which we lost everything: our warm home and my mom's office where she worked in digital marketing.
My dad is one of the owners of the Jewel Tower, but my family decided to leave Gaza for Turkey in 2022 because the tower hadn't been built yet, and to provide a better life for us.
My dad couldn't leave Gaza, so he returned before the war because my grandfather was sick and needed care. I wish I were with my dad because I fear losing him.
The past few months have been the hardest for us and our family.

if the condition of the children of gaza doesn't move you, i don't know what will. there is no school this year. there was no school last year either. no clean water or healthy food. no medicines for when they hurt themselves. no toys to play with. no way for them to come out of this genocide unscathed. it's with a heavy heart that i've realized that childhood in gaza is an empty promise.
my friend alaa [ @alaakh998 ] lives in gaza. she has two little kids aged 4 and 6. i cannot help but think about them. how are they doing? what lies in their future? are they okay? I've come to the realization that they wont be safe unless they're able to evacuate from gaza.
the rafah crossing is closed as of now. alaa is fundraising in hopes that she can collect enough money to address her immediate needs and eventually evacuate when the crossing opens. she needs to buy a tent and medicine and supplies and food.

Acetaminophen/paracetamol has a hard stop upper dose limit, above which it becomes extremely toxic.
That limit is 4g (8 âextra strengthâ (500mg) tablets) in 24 hours (about 2 tablets every 6 hours).
A single dose of 22 extra strength tablets can kill you.
Taking 12 or more tablets per day for more than a week can also kill you (this is about 3 tablets every 6 hours).
Symptoms of overdose take up to 24 hours to manifest, and are fairly difficult to distinguish from other problems. They include abdominal pain (especially right upper quadrant), nausea, malaise, and confusion.
The antidote (n-acetylcystine) must be given within 8hours of ingestion in order to be useful.
After 10 hours the only thing that will work is a liver transplant.
You might think âwhy would I ever accidentally take so much?â
Well, acetaminophen is in almost everything in the cold/flu/pain aisle. Migraine combos like Excedrin, cold and flu combos like NyQuil, basically anything that says ânon-aspirin pain reliefâ, and anything thatâs branded as a fever reducer. Itâs all probably acetaminophen/paracetamol.
So the goal of this post is to get you to read the labels on your medications. Because taking taking Tylenol and NyQuil together for a week (like you might if you had the flu) could kill you.

I mean this question in good faith and Iâm not saying any side is wrong, but while I understand the freedom and cultural importance and such of kink at pride, it does worry me thinking about kids attending and seeing certain things. If thereâs just leather in part of your outfit I donât care, but if itâs something more explicit? I donât know. Everyone who supports kink at pride are people I generally agree with so I think this is something I should believe, but I just canât help being worried. My question is how is it okay? Like idk why donât we confine it to adult-only pride spaces? I donât want kids to be unable to attend the main pride (like the parade) but if youâre exposed to sex too early it messes with mental stuff. I just want an argument from a supporter of it. hello anon! no worries, you havenât upset me; iâm always happy to share my opinions, and appreciate that youâre questioning things which make you uncomfortable and looking for other perspectives <3
a few years ago, i wrote about kink at pride in this post, which i hope youâll read first. the tl;dr is: 1) kink at pride doesnât equal exposure of genitals & public sex, 2) âprideâ is more than the pride parade, and 3) kink is not predatory.
if youâll allow me, iâd like to present a few more ideas on this subject:
1) sex is not dangerous. when i say iâm sex positive, i mean that while sex can be dangerous, it is not uniquely more dangerous than any other risky adult activity. for example, children shouldnât drink alcohol while their brains are developing, children shouldnât drive vehicles or handle firearms before they develop impulse control and good judgement, and children shouldnât rock-climb without learning proper safety protocol. sex is the same; kids shouldnât have sex until theyâre mature enough to understand the logistical and emotional consequences of any given sex act. assuming that they have access to proper sexual education* and safe adults to approach with questions, being âexposedâ to sex** is not damaging or harmful to children. however, this almost doesnât matter to the issue of kink at pride because:
2) public kink does not involve sex. as iâve said before: public kink displays do not involve public sex. what they do include is: collars, harnesses, fetish masks, bodysuits, all with garments which cover the genitals. you might also see rope, floggers, paddles, handcuffs, and gags. but even at adult-oriented kink events, there is no public sex. if youâre imagining an event where sex is happening, thatâs most likely a private orgy with explicit consent from the participants, and will absolutely not be happening at pride events.
3) public kink is easy to explain to children. given that public kink amounts to people in silly outfits and props, kink displays are okay because an adult guardian can explain kink to their child in the same way they would explain alcohol, driving vehicles, or firearms. kink (just like alcohol, driving, and firearms) is something for adults to enjoy, which kids can learn about and explore later, once theyâre old enough to engage safely. an adult guardian might say, for example, âthose people are playing a game for adults. if youâre confused or uncomfortable, we can look away together until they pass by. if youâre still curious in a few years, we can talk about it then.â this also teaches children how to disengage with things they might find upsettingâa skill which is applicable in all facets of life.
4) the solution is always diversification, not restriction. a thriving queer community has a series of pride events during june. the pride parade shouldnât be thought of as âmain prideâ. even as an adult, i donât always attend the parade. in the past, my pride month has meant i go to drag shows, pride parties in the city square, and queer sporting events. some people are still uncomfortable around any form of kink, and thatâs okay! everyone has different comfort levels. so even though i donât believe public kink displays are harmful to children, i will always advocate for a wider diversity of pride events which are explicitly child-friendly. making safe spaces should always be about creating communities instead of restricting people and things from pre-existing spaces. and because the parade has always included kink, itâs my hill to die on that it should stay that way. even if youâre over-cautious and want to avoid the parade with your children while theyâre young, you can always make it something to look forward to when theyâre older.
