Sypnosis: Being Jeongin’s best friend, you spent most of your time in his dorm because of him. And maybe because of a certain brunette cat butler too.

Pt.1

During the next few days, you found out something about Felix.

The blonde aussie boy thrived on gossip and tea.

It took barely a day for the rest of Stray Kids to know about what happened between you and Minho, with some extra added spice and flavour by Lix.

"He kissed! Nooo, on the forehead! It lasted for a few seconds. Yes, I saw it!!!"

"He got all mushy and tucked Y/N in!! They were this close. I saw it!"

"Minho hyung got all jealous and stuff when he saw me and Y/N cuddling! He was like a bothered cat taking out his frustrations on the things nearby. It was like watching a romantic movie, I saw it!"

Yes, Felix saw it and you regretted it.

Not because he was telling everyone all that happened. No, most of it was true so it didn't bother you. What bothered you is how his actions were seen in a different light than when Jeongin does it.

It just gave you unnecessary false hope.

You can't date Minho.

If Minho was your regular college student or a co-worker in the office, popping the question "Do you wanna go on a date with me?" would've been easier. Because then there wouldn't be a million eyes eyeing his every move, and he wouldn't be in constant threat of ruining his reputation.

Asking that to Lee Know, the idol, would be catastrophic. How could you even ask him if you knew what would happen if someone were to find out? Minho would probably get mad and disappointed in you, and you would ruin a beautiful friendship with all of them.

So you kept it to yourself for the longest amount of time, until Felix saw and realized it all and babbled it to everyone.

And all you can do is slam your head into the pillow as Jeongin cornered you with questions.

"He kissed you? And I'm hearing it from someone else?!"

"You were sick and you didn't call me?!"

"What did you say to him when he kissed you?!"

"You're not binging shows with me late night, you can't handle it!! And did you talk to hyung after he got jealous?"

You weren't sure if Jeongin wanted to know about his lack of involvement while you were sick or the details of whatever he thought was going on between you and Minho.

It made you smile and furious at the same time.

"Innie-ya, I promise, nothing much happened. He just pecked my forehead and gave me warm water and a blanket like any decent person. You'd do the same."

"Yeah, but he's not your best friend," Jeongin pouted and laid beside your figure on his bed.

You sighed. It wasn't a big deal, right? Minho is not your best friend, but it could be a close friendship budding and blooming.

Only a friendship, right?

"Ayo, pass the remote," Jisung groaned from the floor, throwing a chip at you. You groaned back, already too comfortable in middle of Jeongin and Felix who were cuddling you, so you threw it in his direction, which unfortunately hit his knee. A groan of pain left his mouth, which Jisung then dramatized and began belting in a normal Jisung fashion.

"AAHHHH, I'M GONNA SWIIINNG-"

"Ugh," Minho let out a sound of distaste, stuffing a brownie in Jisung's mouth, which shut him up. Swallowing the brownie, he looked at you.

"Okay but seriously, what is it with you three? I understand Jeongin, but why is Felix stuck to you all the time now?"

You shrugged, your eyes subconsciously flitting to Minho, who was looking straight at the television, ignoring the conversation.

It had been like this for the last two weeks. After everyone got to know about what happened, you two had barely exchanged words, and with each passing moment, you couldn't help but believe whatever Felix had said earlier.

Cause if Minho was really jealous, how long had this been going on?

But what if he's just embarassed because there's nothing in his heart for you?

Because to the best of your knowledge on the subject, his behaviour towards you changed after he saw Felix and you, but you were pretty good friends with the Aussie from a long time as well, being close in age and personality. Or was it everyone knowing that caused a difference?

You couldn't figure out what exactly changed, going back and forth, to and from the theories in your head, but it scared you. You don't even want Minho as a boyfriend right now, you just want your friend back.

But being younger and after Minho's mannerisms from the last few days, you were scared and hesitant to ask him.

Taking a deep breath, you managed to whisper-call his name. "Minho?"

His eyes snapped towards you, rooting you in your place, stunned by the lack of warmth it usually held. Gulping, you continued, knowing you'll just embarass yourself if you backed out right now.

"I need to go to the store...to get some stuff. Can you come with me?"

Minho blinked, silent for a while, which just made you more nervous. You didn't want him to deny but he was well within his rights to do so, even more when he seemed mad at you.

But contrary to the worst case scenarios in your head, Minho said nothing and nodded, standing up and walking towards the door to grab the keys. You followed his suit, untangling yourself from Jeongin and Felix.

Jeongin saw you walking towards Minho, and furrowed his eyebrows. He wasn't entirely convinced by your words about yours and Minho's relationship, and as much as he didn't want to get in your business, he couldn't help but speak up.

"Can I go with you guys too?"

The store you planned to go to was never visited, and instead you found yourselves in a large grocery store, pushing a cart filled with a variety of food.

After Jeongin asked you both with his hopeful, sparkling eyes, you couldn't help but nod, prompting a sweet smile from the said boy. Felix looked at you both, eyes wide with concern, and asked to accompany you all as well, hoping to distract Jeongin while shopping so that you could have your alone time with Minho.

This started nothing but a domino effect, as after everyone figured out your plans, they started joining in. First Jisung, then Hyunjin, then Changbin who dragged Seungmin in for the laughs and then Chan who just saw everyone go and quietly/confused joined the queue as well.

You all ended up taking two cars, squished yet again between Jeongin, and this time, Jisung. Jeongin held your hand the entire ride, which would've been completely fine if Jeongin was the clingy one out of you two. At least in a physical manner.

He kept you close the entire time, presently adding stuff to the cart you were pushing.

Don't get it wrong, you love Jeongin, you really do. But sometimes you wish you can just-

Nevermind.

You spotted Minho in the dairy aisle with Jisung and Changbin, which you were slowly approaching. The latter added more stuff to your cart, taking it from you as it was getting heavier, to which you smile gratefully, eyes drifting to Minho who's looking inside the freezer.

The urge to just go and talk to him is there but how to do it without drawing attention to yourselves?

Thankfully, right on time, your guardian angel Felix came and dragged everyone to the snacks section, winking at you mischievously and signalling towards Minho (who you bet you heard scoffing).

As the group walked, you stayed a bit behind, wanting to get alone with him. But as luck would have it, Jeongin stood loyally by your side. Felix to drag him away from you but he stood his ground, clutching your arm, eyebrows furrowing and at last, eyes snapping at you.

"No! I'm not going away from you!" he whined loudly, Felix still pulling him towards the desert section.

"Jeongin, come on, we'll get cheesecake!"

"Oh my, Cheesecake!!!"

"Not now, Hannie."

The struggle continued for a while, and you could see Jeongin's desperation, causing you to stop Felix.

"Lix! It's okay, let him go."

Reluctantly, Felix pulled away from Jeongin, arms back at his own side, sighing. The latter stood right where he was, looking at the ground and not speaking a word.

You took Jeongin's hand, and pulled him with you. "We'll be back. Call us if you need anything," you said to everyone, eyes glancing yet again at Minho, who had a concerned look on his face. Ignoring it all, you walked out of the store, Jeongin obediently following you to the parking lot, in between the two cars your group came in.

"Are you okay? What happened in there, Innie?"

"Nothing."

You weren't buying this. He avoided your eyes, looking either side to side or on the ground. Sighing, you stepped close and hugged him. You half expected him to reject it and put some distance between you, but were pleasantly surprised when he hugged you back with equal vigour.

You rubbed his back, giving him time, and when his hold on you started to loosen, you pulled back and held his hand, looking at him expectantly.

He sighed, holding your hands back, looking down. "What's going on between you and Minho?"

He confused you yet again, cause the irony is you DO want something to go on but 💀.

Noticing your confusion, Jeongin decided to get more specific. "Do you like him?"

You stared at him, wondering what would be the best answer to tell him. He's Yang Jeongin, your best friend, your partner in crime, the one person you'd always go to, whether it's a good news or something shitty happened.

But he's also a friend to Minho, he's like his younger brother. You were scared what would Jeongin think of you having a crush on Minho. It's not the disapproval, you know Jeongin would never control you or who you like, but as you saw how things were today, you were scared Jeongin would feel you want to be with Minho more than him.

Of course, you know he's not petty like this, but still an inkling of fear kept you hesitant.

Deciding it's better to tell Jeongin rather than him getting more suspicious of you, you met his eyes dead-on.

"Yes, I like him."

Jeongin sighed, tilting his head backwards as he absorbed the piece of information. Your fear grew, but before you could say anything, he beat you to it.

"Y/N, I'm not mad."

You tilted your head, confused.

Jeongin looked down, and continued. "I...I was upset. I suspected, yes, but I was just upset you didn't tell me this information. Of course it's up to you! But with the lack of time we spend together because of my schedules, I-I thought we were drifting apart...and when Felix hyung told me about you and Minho hyung, I got scared. If you and him got close, doesn't matter whether as friends or as lovers, where will that leave me in your life? In the limited time we have?"

Jeongin finally looked up at you, eyes a bit teary but looking at you with determination in them.

"Y/N, I love you."
