I think that vulcans in general should have bigger and pointier ears just because

1) it's cute I mean, look at these little desert kitties and their big ol ears very adorable

2) it just makes sense! They're desert creatures, they're thought to be the descendants of cats, they don't sweat, but they have to release heat somehow. Solution, big ears to radiate heat from! It's totally logical

3) big cat ears means they can move it (very cute imagine their ears perking up when someone calls their name) and make their hearing better (is canonical)
