what's most compelling about Q is that he's a loner trickster god that is inexplicably obsessed with picard but ok

Never been a huge fan of Picard mainly because of how he approaches the Prime Directive, but ever since hearing my friend's take on it he's become x1000 more interesting to me

the Red John of the Enterprise
Re-watching s4ep20 Qpid and am wondering what exactly Q meant when he leans down closer to Jean-Luc and says in a softer voice “I could help you with it.” And why he has such an honest look on his face. At the start of their conversation, he was being his regular Q-self, but he says this like he’s serious about this, like he would actually help Jean-Luc write a better speech. And after Jean-Luc says, “No thank you.” He pauses for a moment and actually looks a little disappointed.
The whole episode was one of their gayest, Jean-Luc was having a bisexual nightmare and I live for it.
Do ya think that when Q was creating his human form to speak with Picard he was like "Even though it really doesn't matter how I appear in front of them because ultimately I am a far more advanced and uncomprehendingly larger being than all of them, I still have to make myself taller than Jean-luc so I can lean ominously over him and intimidate him >:)" but because Q has no understanding of personal space whatsoever to any on looking crewmember or ensign it just looks like he's bending over to stuff his face into Jean-luc's neck
Encounter at Farpoint has many faults, but establishing the homoerotic tension between Captain Jean-luc Picard and Q the cuntress was not one of them
I imagine that Q's visits to the enterprise become so common that after a while the crew just gets used to him appearing for non-malicious purposes. If you happen to walk into ten forward and see the captain arguing with Q then you just know not to question or interrupt them, it’s just a lovers quarrel.
I can just picture some transfer ensign aboard the enterprise walking with a few other ensigns down the hall and they see the captain with Q by his side talking and Q does something with his powers and the transfer ensign being like "😯 i-ist that Q!? Why's he here!? Hasn't he been a massive fucking danger to the ship in the past??? Why are we not on red alert rn!????" and all the other ensigns are like "chill, he's just on a date with his boyfriend😊"
Idea that once human movies and tv series becomes accessible to the rest of the universe they immediately have to get re-called and re-regulated by the federation.
Like, the Andorians thought they had sexy romance shows, but then the terrans come along and now you've got angry zhavey's, shreya's, charan's, and thavan's calling in concerned on what their teenagers are watching.
And this especially applies to horror movies, Klingon space gets access to some classics and figure they'll sit around and laugh at the silly human horror. Cut to one Texas Chainsaw Massacre marathon later and now some human captain's are reporting that the Klingons are looking at them weirdly, like they almost seem... nervous of them?
Same thing goes for when Vulcans begin to approach human crewmates to ask how they manage to keep their children away from "The animated blue kanine and the female pink sus scrofa domesticus?"
Ferenginar just has a flatout ban against any and all talent/contest shows. To win profit just for having a talent? For showing good teamwork? Without any cheating or lying? Disgraceful media. (Although they would appreciate the trick of adding a sob backstory to gain more sympathy votes)
I have my own personal headcanon that in the star trek universe Human musicals are EXTREMELY popular amongst the stars and across all galaxy's. Cause sure, other aliens have singing and dancing and music of all sorts but everyone quickly agrees that there is nothing like a human musical. It baffles a few Ferengi's ears when hoo-mans sing in such a high frequency for such a long time that shouldn't even be possible with their lung size! Vulcan's can appreciate the synchrony of their dancing and consider it a very pleasing experience (Their incredibly impressed by it and it becomes a frequent topic of conversation). Cardassian's admire the way the characters sing/talk to the audience and reveal what their feeling but not to the other characters, it's fun to watch secrets unfold or explode to someone's face as chaotic antics happen all around them (Their favorites tend to be Stephan Sondheim musicals). Surprisingly, even Klingons aren't immune to the talent of human musical theatre, on any given night you'll see a large group of Klingons sitting around a table ready for an opera show and tales from soprano's receiving numerous thanks and glory be's! from burly Klingons after a show.
I always love how Geordi is never truly weirded out by anything Data does or specifically if he does something strange when learning human behavior. Everyone else just gives Data this look because their weirded out but Geordi just looks at him and raises an eyebrow, and yeah he could be giving him the look behind his visor as well as the rest of them but I don't think so. He's never weirded out by Data's Data-ness just mildly surprised and questions him like "What do mean Data?" in a gentle voice
I have no idea whatsoever if Vulcans would be able to actually smell pheromones, I just like the idea that some human crew members decide to see if those pheromone perfume things really work and so they put some on and obviously can’t smell anything so it’s a disappointment, but they still decide to leave it on for the day. Flash cut to the Vulcan crew members on board freaking the fuck out thinking they’re going into an early and unexpected Pon Farr because they want to absolutely devour every human that passes by them.
I got this idea from a random fic I read somewhere, but I think it’s a really funny to imagine that in Star trek when humans describe things their pets do, their alien buddies just think that this is another human doing these things because they don’t know earth animals. And like honestly humans have done weirder.
I think that if Picard ever accidentally fell asleep on Q, like just the slightest little head rest on Q's shoulder, Q would be so surprised but absolutely positively delighted!
He'd wait a few seconds to make sure Picard's actually asleep, listen to him breathing quietly, and then just- pick him up and place him fully on his lap. Like if a pet falls asleep next to you you'd pick it up and place it on your lap to cuddle it more. Q doesn't do anything else, even if he gets bored he lets Picard sleep. He just keeps his arms around the captain's waist and holds him happy to have his fun.
Of course when Picard wakes up he either (1) wakes up alone and with his favourite hot tea by his side bc Q vanished and didn't want Jean Luc to get all harumph harumph >:( about being in Q's lap or (2) Picard wakes up and does in fact get all angry after he realizes he's sitting in Q's lap which Q doesn't help by teasing him non-stop making the captain flush just a little bit.

Don't know if any of you out there are Star Trek fans, but I got to meet several of them today and it was amazing!
Data be like:

*I work hard so that my cat has a better life.
here he comes
Transitioning into college classes is crazy.
One second you're sitting next to a stranger years older than tou, the next second they're telling you Data is their favorite Star Trek character and him and Geordi are boyfriends.
(agreed random person, agreed)
