Someone needs to tell me why I can't listen to Come From Away without crying (or at least tears in my eyes). I was born 3 years after that tragedy. Why does this musical make me cry??? I didn't even cry when I went to the museum!

✨ Writing about ideas that have been written about before does not make you a bad writer.

✨ It's okay to take it slow. It's okay to need to edit a lot. It's okay if some people don't like your themes or ideas. It's okay if your work is not completely "original"-- no one's is.

✨ Don't let yourself or other people discourage you from writing.

✨ Don't give up on your writing!

Ao3 is actually massively culturally important and very very good at being what it is. I’m so serious when I say that ao3 needs to be protected as the anti censorship, by fans for fans, nonprofit, volunteer run, expertly designed archival site that it is. You don’t have to read or like fanfiction to understand that on principle, ao3 is a site that should be defended.
