Sanderstober Day 1!!

Today's prompt was spooky/Halloween-y figure on their off-time as well as their traditional look. I chose the Grim Reaper! Mainly because I do have some familiarity with drawing skeletons, but also for sugar skull designs. So here it is!!

Headcanons Pt 2 - Star Sanses

Part two of this headcanon saga! If anyone here knows me from my time on Wattpad, a lot of this may be new to you. I actually used to favor this trio before I looked deeper into Ink and Dream. I would like to say my opinions on the Apple Incident now look less like "wtf Dream, why weren't you a better brother???" and more like "wtf village, those are six-year-olds. Leave them alone." To be fair, I typically write the incident with the twins nearing their teens. So, y'know. But canonically, they're both like, six. Anyway! Stars, you're up! It's your turn on the headcanon chopping block! (they're all sympathetic btw)

Ink:

Really good at drawing but can't write a simple story to save his life

Actually pretty good at sewing. He can not only repair clothing, but make his own

Uses he/they pronouns but doesn't really understand gender. Blue has tried to explain it, but Ink just can't grasp the concept. Or forgets. It might actually be that he keeps forgetting

Despite being horrible at reading others' emotions, he's very good at making and keeping friends. It could be the general joy and carefree attitude he has, but people just really like him

So, with the paints, Ink is supposed to have a bit of each. And most of the time he does. But much like some people ignore certain feelings to cope, Ink will refuse to drink blue or red on certain days because he doesn't want to put up with those feelings if something happens to make them flare up

Has a severe case of leukophobia. He likes painting on his and his friends' bones because of this, but does not explain why

As much as he loves animals, he's scared to have a pet because he thinks he'll forget to take care of it

Despite all his fear of having a pet, he has raised multiple generations of butterflies! And has a pollinator garden

Dream:

Much like Nightmare, Dream forgave Nim for everything. Much like the Gang, Ink and Blue don't agree

Doesn't know how the modern world works. Nightmare remained awake for the 500 years Dream was in stone and it shows. Dream doesn't understand modern tech, modern clothes, or modern slang. Barely understands what a laptop is much less how it works. Never seen a hoodie before, but now he must have ten. "And what, Ink, in the multiverse is a yeet?!" Nightmare likes teasing him for it. Nightmare watched technology and style and weird slang grow. He has a smartphone and regularly shows other people all the pictures of stupid things the Gang did

Can't stand the taste or smell of apples. Which is weird, because Nightmare can, but the Gang thinks he can't

Can't talk to people. If he gets past his nerves, he's really charismatic, but he'd rather die than approach someone first. This was not an issue when he was little, or even newly freed

Likes climbing things, mainly mountains and other tall landforms, but he'll join Cross in scaling random buildings or people sometimes

His magic feels like someone injected cotton candy into your soul. It's sweet and fluffy, sugary, but you know too much is bad for you

Blue:

Okie dokie! The one normal one. He is the best cook out of the Stars. Just really good at following recipes

Has a pet, it's just Toby. Toby likes stealing Blue's attacks.

He has 20 HP, and it took so much training just to get there. He's also pretty good at dodging, but compared to other Sanses, he's not particularly skilled

Feels like he doesn't belong in the Stars. He'll walk into an AU next to literal gods and everyone's cheering. For all three of them. Doesn't really know what to do about these feelings

So, Blue's best friends are some of the strongest Sanses alive. And he regularly has to battle with their stupidity. This makes him incredibly intolerant to stupid/arrogant/idiotic people. He will call people out on rude behavior, bullying, or other such things. A lot of people love him for this. A lot of people, who I shall refer to as Karens, hate him for this.

I need to stress, Blue isn't mean to people, but you can't be a prick around him. He just won't put up with it, whether it affected him directly, or it just occurred near him

Despite being the only Sans out of the Gang and Stars that was younger than his Papyrus, he probably acts more like a fun yet responsible big brother than anyone else

And there are the Stars! I realized I never spat my stupid Hogwarts Sorting list and reasonings behind it, and I must do that next. Because Blue is a Gryffindor. And he's the only one of these three. So I'll do my sorting next, before moving on to other Sanses.

Upon request, I’ve provided new art prompts for this year’s month of October!! As always, feel free to do all or some of these, pick and choose whichever stands out to you! If you missed a day’s prompt but still wanted to do art for it, absolutely do that and post it whenever you want, no worries whatsoever. It’s all completely laid back and just for fun! I’ve added to this list without consulting old ones, so if I used a repeat idea, it’s possible that I just was interested in seeing more of it again this year!! Hope you all enjoy! Oct. 1st: Give me a spooky or Halloween-y figure and how he looks on Sep. 30th (their off-time, go as comical as you’d like) and then how they look Oct. 1st (traditionally how they are known to look!).

Oct. 2nd: Give me a flower design inspired by a type of candy of your choice!

Oct. 3rd: In celebration of the awesomeness that is Fionna and Cake, I’d love to see you take a character, or characters from your fave series, and give them a multiverse makeover (what they’d look like in a different universe, under different circumstances)

Oct. 4th: Take any historic landmark, and give it an autumn or Halloween-y makeover

Oct. 5th: Since I’ve been on my D&D kick with Roleslaying with Roman, what would any Halloween- or spooky-themed character be in a D&D world? What would be their race? Their class? Their backstory??

Oct. 6th: Google a Random Color Generator and use it to give you three colors. Then use those three colors to create a new Halloween creature or character.

Oct. 7th: Along the lines of Spiderman Noir, take any character you want from some sort of fiction, and depict how they might look like in any other time period!

Oct. 8th: In the spirit of having fun with both Halloween AND Christmas, take a Halloween story/character and draw what they might appear as if they were actually a character talked or sung about in a Christmas story.

Oct. 9th: Take a group of characters from one of your favorite pieces of content and create tarot cards featuring them. Google tarot cards to get inspiration if you need!

Oct. 10th: Take a musical (one that I would suppose wouldn’t already be scary) and create a poster for it as if it were the title of a scary movie

Oct. 11th: Google a Disney character generator, pick out two characters, and create what a mash-up of those two characters would look like!

Oct.12th: Pumpkin spice latte obviously has its spotlight during the fall, but could you come up with another special coffee concoction for another season/holiday of the year?

Oct. 13th: Take a Fall/Halloween concept or character and use it as inspiration for a fashionable outfit

Oct. 14th: As a tribute to Barbenheimer this year, take any character from Barbie or Oppenheimer and depict how they’d appear in the other movie

Oct. 15th: Take the last text you received. Use all or part of it to base a whole movie off of it of any genre, and create a poster for it

Oct. 16th: Take one of the names of your current pet, old pet, or friend’s pet, and use that name as the inspiration for a superhero. What would that superhero look like?

Oct. 17th: Is there a phrase that one of your parents or friend says all the time? Take it and imagine it’s the name of a children’s book. What would that children’s book cover look like?

Oct. 18th: Take a Disney villain, and depict them as a Disney princess

Oct. 19th: Take a Disney Princess and depict them as a Disney villain!

Oct. 20th: Take any Greek god and imagine what their preferred activity might be on an average Fall day.

Oct. 21st: Take a board game (one that I would suppose wouldn’t be scary) and create a poster for it as if it were the title of a scary movie

Oct. 22nd: This is an annual favorite of mine - take take any character(s) from a piece of content of your choice and depict them like a Tim Burton character

Oct. 23rd: Take a famous brand logo (Toyota, Playstation, Campbell’s Soup, Facebook, literally any logo from anything) and design a Pokemon inspired by the logo and color palette! Bonus for naming it and giving it stats!

Oct. 24th: In the spirit AGAIN of having fun with both Halloween AND Christmas, now take a Christmas story/character and draw what they might appear as if they were actually a character talked or sung about in a Halloween story.

Oct. 25th: Another favorite of mine: take any character(s) from a piece of animated content you enjoy, and draw them in the style of another piece of animated content!

Oct. 26th: Go to the latest playlist you were listening to, put it on shuffle, and see what song it plays. Take the title of that song and use it as inspiration for a Halloween/Autumn themed drawing of your choice.

Oct. 27th: Take a favorite pair of characters from a piece of content you enjoy and depict what their matching Halloween costumes would be!

Oct. 28th: [Random event from this past year] … and Zombies!!

Oct. 29th: Every town’s got some local businesses with interesting names (Jerry’s Tire Barn Emporium, stuff like that). If you know of one in your local town, take that name, and imagine it to be the name of a Haunted House. Depict what that location may look like. I wanna learn about some funny local business names.

Oct. 30th: Take one item from your desk/workspace, anything you want. This item is now the inpiration of a brand NEW cryptid (like Sasquatch, Loch Ness, El Chupacabra, just some legendary creature we have yet to find hard evidence of). Depict what this cryptid would be!

Oct. 31st: And, of course, in typical fashion for the big day, give me any character(s) of your choice, from any piece of content, enjoying Halloween in whatever way seems appropriate to them!!

Headcanons Pt 3 1/2 - Ghosts

HOLY SH- I FORGOT ABOUT THE GHOSTS!! I mentioned Chara back in Cross's headcanons, but completely forgot that he, as well as Phantom, both have a bunch of headcanons just floating around in my noggin. Allow me to do this little thing.

Cross Chara:

Can and will possess Cross's body for fun and pranks. Doesn't care about what he has to say about this

Talks to Dust. Well, pesters him. But they're close enough that they could be considered friends

Adores Phantom. Like, these two get along like a house on fire. They cannot be left unattended lest the palace be reduced to rubble

Basically the core of all Cross's intrusive thoughts. In an inquisitive tone he'll just say; "You should pull the cookies out with your bare hands," "Chara, what the hell?! No!!" But then he does it anyway because he's more curious than cautious and now Nightmare has to tend to the stupidest burn imaginable. All Cross can hear is Chara's cackling

However, he actually cares about Cross. Not right away, of course. But at the very least, he knows he has to keep Cross alive. Eventually they bond, but even before that, Chara warns Cross of any danger he can't see

I'm a multishipper, so I'll pair Cross with whoever I'm feeling. Chara does not think like this. He would rather Cross stay sad and single, because if Cross is in a relationship, then Chara is stuck watching whatever sappy stuff the skeleton chooses to do

Phantom:

Honestly, doesn't completely resent Dust for his actions. He saw how utterly it destroyed him after everything was over

Acts pretty Papy when you get to know him. He's not a hallucination, but rather an apparition

Petty as hell. He did die, and he frequently reminds the three people who can hear him of that. Dust always feels guilty, Cross awkward, and Chara just laughs

Much like Chara talks Cross into doing things, Phantom talks Dust out of things. He acts as a conscious when Dust can't think through the bloodlust

Can just... cease at will. Pretty sure he just goes back to Dusttale, but he's not as tethered to Dust as Chara is to Cross. He uses this to his advantage

Doesn't interact with Cross much. He honestly finds the whole concept of Nightmare's Gang a bit off-putting. It's just his brother times six

He does like watching Horror cook. He takes notes. Horror also talks to himself while cooking at it makes Phantom feel a little more real, even if Horror can't actually see him

And there we have it! My ghosty bois headcanons! They are far more sympathetic than most people would write them, but I consider my gang the "best outcome" type, with everyone being the best version of themself. I like them all going from their tragic backstories to finding people in similar situations and growing together. An optimist's look at Nightmare's Gang, if you will. The only reason they spread negativity is to maintain the balance that Dream doesn't hold. Much like with Ink and Error.
