Once again I just kind of sat and thought about random stuff and came up with something random, so-

Kaebedo but make it an Anastasia AU (I might do it as a mix of the original movie and the musical, however I’m unsure)

I haven’t though too much about it, but I want to make it an actual thing - most likely through drawings as I’m not really good at writing and I don’t have an account on any fanfic website.

The roles I sort of have worked out are:

Anastasia - Albedo - I would’ve made Kaeya Anastasia because of the whole theory, however…

Dmitry - Kaeya - Kaeya’s personality (at least the persona he displays) is a lot more similar to Dimitri than it is to Anastasia

Vlad Popov - Venti - I’m not too sure on it yet, my first idea was diluc but I felt like that didn’t exactly fit considering how he presently acts towards everyone (not just Kaeya). With that in mind, it made even less sense to make Rosaria be Vladimir. I think Venti fits well in that role, but I don’t know.

The Dowager Empress/Anastasia's grandma - Rhinedottir - Out of all the characters it makes sense, despite being albedo’s technical mother in the original game - but it’s alright we can take some creative liberties lmao.

I’m not sure what character to assign to Gleb (I’m thinking maybe Dainsleif? But Gleb ends up having romantic feelings for Anastasia - But idk-) and Countess Lilly (as this involves a relationship with vlad - venti in this AU - so I’m not sure as otherwise I have plenty of characters who I think matches her personality in some way)

Young, handsome, intelligent, and caring… Kaeya Alberich was surely a catch. But he was also shrouded in mystery - running errands for Ragnvindr chicken, declining the ties to uncovered family heirlooms, changing majors to become a teacher… Albedo was curious by nature, and Kaeya seemed to be the kind of puzzle that could keep him occupied forever, if he stared long enough.

But it was only a crush. He wouldn’t conflate his feelings with Kaeya’s interest in him as a professional. They’d met once for coffee - just a coffee - and to discuss Klee.

Besides, he had other matters that took priority - the Inteyvat project would require his full attention soon enough in the upcoming months, once they’d finished the initial legwork.

His thoughts drifted to memories, of when he was in high school and Alice would let him peek at her research for the museum. She answered all of his curious questions about Inteyvats and Khaenri’ah. At the time, he knew his own loose ties to it through his mother - but by high school, he’d also long since given up on any expectations that she would ever return or call on him. Alice had filled that much-needed vacancy in his life, and he finally started to come around to the idea of her as his mom.

“Why do you think the flowers harden?” he asked Alice once. “Is it Geo energy?”

Alice was sitting at her desk. It was evening, just after dinner, and her husband was finishing the dishes. Albedo was heading to his room to finish his homework, but he paused at the doorway of Alice’s study. Curiosity got the better of him, and he slipped inside and saw that she was - once again - pouring over diagrams of the flowers.

“That’s part of it, sure,” Alice said. “Geo is in all the earth; soil is no exception. But it’s also the flower’s reaction to being removed from its roots. A preservation move.”

“It seems counterintuitive,” Albedo replied. “If the flowers harden, they can no longer grow or be replanted. It seems biologically disadvantageous.”

“Maybe,” Alice said. She hummed. “But I wouldn’t like being uprooted from my home, either.”

“So you’d turn to stone?” Albedo asked.
