remembering songs perfectly (ramble)
something that i've been thinking about for a while now is how people remember songs, or rather how i remember and play back songs in my head. If i don't try to sing/whistle/hum whatever melody it has, most of the time i'm able to get the pitch very close if not exactly to how it actually is in the song. The moment I actually try to get it out of my mind is when i shift it and it isn't in pitch anymore.
I feel like anyone can actually do this, except maybe for tonedeaf people (i have no idea how tone deafness works) because our minds wouldn't just naturally shift the pitch of a song by itself for no reason right?
You can try it out yourself right now, think of whatever song you have listened to a bunch of times before, but don't hum it. Keep the part that you remember the clearest in your mind and play the song elsewhere to check if you got it right, chances are you'll probably get it right, not exactly right, but unexpectedly close to the original.
I'm guessing this could kind of correlate to perfect pitch in a neurological sense, that being how our brain processes and stores sound within our memory. there's already people who use this technique to identify basically any tone and i think it's very fascinating how something like a sound can be stashed in someone noggin with much more clarity than any other stimulus like an image, a scent or a flavor.
i can go on and on about how i feel my brain stores info, but i'm rambling a little too much so i'll leave that for later
texturing is very cool :DD
some mid poly models i made as practice for modeling and texturing. heavily inspired on most late 2000 fantasy games

a little bit more context for Nixie
it's supposed to be some sort of robot detective person with funky limbs and a glass dome for a head and, you guessed it, nixie displays
i'm learning a LOT by drawing, modeling, and sculpting them, i'm aiming for highest quality model but we'll see
now it's just down to materials and rigging
also adding a model sheet if someone 人´∀`) wants to look into them ◔_◔
this is quite literally the first time i've actually gone through and pulled out one of the little people constantly floating inside my brain cavity so it's kind of a big deal for me
A little peek of my first ever character, Nixie :)
it was not a good idea to learn how to draw by making a comic
who did it best
twitter dump starts now
i'll set my account up eventually just give me a bit
