I Literally Wrote This Essay In High School. I Wish I Still Had It Even Though It's Probably Terrible.
I literally wrote this essay in high school. I wish I still had it even though it's probably terrible.
so within the universe of Dune, gender roles abide by a rigid false dichotomy created by the bene gesserit - men lead the noble houses, while the women may join their order, and the powers of both are kept intentionally separate. at the same time, the plot demonstrates repeatedly that the role of paul atreides as a character is that of the border between the concepts juxtaposed within dichotomies: he is both an outerworlder and fremen, both harkonnen and atreides, both a duke and a disciple of the bene gesserit.

"Sir, she didn't feel any better after a We Stay Silly"
"What about a Fuck it, We Ball? Did we try that?"
"Ineffective, sir. We even launched an It Is What It Is, but nothing seems to be working"

i made a character uquiz. i 100% promise you that you will get a character you know AND like
i will be honest i think new dune tried too hard for normie mass appeal and took all the flavor out. the aesthetics are not insane enough and neither are the characters. stop trying to make any of these people “relatable” they are operating on ideologies that are nigh incomprehensible to anyone who isn’t addled by thousands of years of space feudalism and selective breeding and worm cocaine use
