More Posts from Thursday-in-theory
unfortunately i do believe posthaste is one of the funniest words out there. how quick am i doing something? fast as fuck my good sir
A counterpoint to a common opinion I see here: I don't think there's anything wrong with the concept of laziness, because I don't think there's anything wrong with being lazy.
The sentiment of most posts about the concept of laziness is that it's not a good concept because the majority of people who are being called that are, in fact, trying quite hard all the time. Essentially, that calling them lazy is simply incorrect. And that may well be true! You also frequently see the argument that calling a person lazy is a terrible way to motivate them to do whatever it is you want them to be doing, and I think that's also probably true (but that's also true of all other forms of criticism).
But here's the thing. Neither of those arguments are really about whether or not there are lazy people, only that calling people lazy is generally not a great idea and that the external signifiers associated with laziness are inaccurate. That can be true while there still are, in fact, lazy people in the world.
I know this because I am one of those people. I'm very lazy! I want to live an easy, convenient life full of leisure activities. If I had all I wanted in the world I would spend every afternoon on a sunny patio sipping a Negroni with a good friend to talk to. I work exactly as hard as I have to in order to maintain myself, and I don't want to work any harder.
And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.

the advantage of only having basic and frustrating to use image editing software is that by the time I finish making an image to demonstrate my point I've usually realized that it's really not worth engaging at all.
anyways please just learn what brutalism is if you are going to attack or defend it online in public thanks.
