reason 183 why the majority of ste/rek fics and headcanons make absolutely no sense is that stiles would literally rather kill himself than admit derek was right about anything. stiles could go up to scott and say "hey scott i think we should kill jackson just for funsies" and then derek could walk up to scott and say "Scott we need to kill Jackson. We're brothers Scott. Scott you are my brother and you need to kill Jackson" and stiles would be like "WHOAAA this guy wants to KILL someone ?! jeez i guess SOMEONE'S still a little GRUMPYWOLF about his whole family dying in a fire!!! don't listen to him scotty, we should definitely keep jackson alive" and scott would be like "stiles you Literally just told me to murder him" and stiles would be like "no i didn't, you're misremembering, that was all in your head" and derek would be like "Scott is this guy bothering you. Scott. Do you want me to kill him for you Scott"

But also I’m just saying, Scott McCall did not smirk like a smug asshole at the twins after taking apart one’s motorcycle to lure the other into getting caught with their motorcycle in the school hallway just for ppl to act like this guy was new to Shenanigans. @bucksboobs I believe it made it to Athena's 'checklist' of examples of Scott hitting all the boxes on being a textbook abuser. Because much like the obvious case of the show being told through the lens of the unreliable narrator and it was really about Derek and Stiles all along, with Scott being the Anakin character destined to fall to darkness, it was a given that he was canonically twisting the truth in this scene, as was his wont. There was never any possibility that these words could be taken at face value and Isaac, indeed, was on watch last.
