Caregivers Gomez and Morticia Addams Headcanons (The Addams Family)

Gomez is an especially affectionate person, and although Morticia is slightly more restrained, she is still deeply caring. Their children don’t particularly like physical contact, and they’ll always respect that. But if you enjoy contact? You can expect constant hugs, forehead kisses, slaps on the back from Gomez, and gentle shoulder squeezes from Morticia. 

Gomez is fluent in Peninsular Spanish and Morticia is fluent in French. If you are also fluent in one of these languages, the respective adult will cheerfully chat with you; and if not, they’ll both teach you words and phrases, and give you multilingual nicknames. “Ma créature de la nuit” and “Araña maligna” are the ones they most often use.

Gomez teaches you to fence, and encourages all manner of cheating. After you’ve learned a bit, he’ll periodically sneak up behind you and attack.

Morticia welcomes you into her conservatory whenever you want to visit. She’ll even let you feed some of the carnivorous plants!

The house is full of bizarre objects, secret doors, and general oddities - and you have free reign to explore. If you ever lose your way, Gomez will send Lurch to fetch you.

Morticia reads to you every night. The darkest variations of fairy tales, the works of Edgar Allen Poe, or even more recent fare like “We Have Always Lived in the Castle” and the works of Junji Ito; whatever you enjoy, Morticia will use it to put you to sleep.

Gomez normally uses his trains when he’s bothered by something, but he’s willing to let you play with them on occasion - as long as you find exciting ways to crash them!

If you enjoy making mischief, they’re the best caregivers to mess with. It doesn’t matter if you break something, if you make a huge mess, if you set off an explosive - whatever you do, they will laugh about it.

They’ll take you on tours through the family cemetery and tell you all about their relatives.

The family credo - “We gladly feast on those who would subdue us” - applies to you as much as anyone. If someone bothers you or tries to harm you, Gomez and Morticia will help you fight back.
