to dazai, love was something he ignored. he didn't necessarily hate it, but he always ran from it. commitment wasn't his thing, and neither should his attachment to you be either.

but when he looks at you, he just can't help it. as his eyes dilate— big round, pupils, that of an unknowing pup— he finds his heart racing faster by the millisecond.

placing a hand on his chest, his expression doesn't falter for one second. a crooked line formed on his lips paired with the bright shine in his eyes as his face started to show signs of red was enough to get him thinking, 'oh shit...'

his collar suddenly feels tighter, the lump in his throat bulging outward as he gets tongue-tied. if it wasn't evident enough already, his face was also turning as red as his silky hair.

he didn't want to believe it. no way, not in hell— a person like him? in love? the type of fairytale love you find in fiction? puppy love? the adoration he feels whenever he's with you?

but at the same time, he wanted to accept it. as chuuya grew older, so did his outlook on love. as chuuya grew older, so did his maturity. he smiles at love now, rather than laughing at the thought of it.

and right now? he smiles, lips all crooked as he basks in your presence for as long as you want him to.
