Not being common knowledge doesn't mean it's forbidden - Could just be one of those things that got lost to time. Honestly I kinda believe abomination magic phased out grimwalkers. Grimwalkers seem to be a more advanced, harder verison of making abomination monsters - Maybe when abomination magic got popular, grimwalkers were faded out cus abomination magic is far easier to do.
