Clef: what the heck? Kondraki: well, you, me, my office, even my desk, and this FUCKING report Clef: Konny ;-;
Losing my mind remembering that pic chelsea manning posted of the extremely undercover and not at all obvious fbi agent who was tailing her after her release
Pink morning light filtering through the curtains fell on the hero’s eyes, waking him up from a heavy sleep. He frowned, shielding his eyes against the glare, and slowly let the bedroom come into focus, but his eyes were still blurry from sleep. His head rolled back on the pillow with his eyes half closed. A soft breeze from the open window was blowing across his face, smelling of spring and something else. No. Someone else. His hand drifted across the bed and touched a warm figure wrapped up in the sheets. Dread squeezed his heart, waking them up instantly. He didn’t remember bringing anyone home. Had he been drinking? No, no he hadn’t, not even a drop. God, he was too tired to remember. He squeezed his eyes shut, trying to pretend that he didn’t have to confront this. But still, he picked his head to see who the person in his bed was, even though he already had a creeping suspicion who.
Beside them in bed was the villain, who was still fast asleep, lying on his back and unbothered by the sunlight coming in through the curtains and the hero’s panic. On instinct, the hero’s body tensed up, hands clenching into fists. He took a second look at the villain. No, he was fast asleep. Of course it was him. Of all people, it had to be him. Well, it probably hadn’t been that bad. It might have been a failed power move. Maybe he had planned on being in his apartment when he woke up, just to be a dick, but ended up falling asleep like an idiot. However, the memories from last night were starting to come back in flashes. It had been a normal night at home, then, in the dead of night, the villain had broken into his apartment. They had started fighting of course, and then…and then… god, the memories were still blurry. What happened? He had had the villain pinned against the wall (he hadn’t really struggled, and he remembered it distinctly because the hero hadn’t been sure what to do) and then… something must have changed. The hero turned red remembering it, and the moments after. It seemed years away, not hours.
There was nothing to worry about immediately. He propped himself up on the pillow and looked over at the villain. The light from the rising sun played on his features, accentuating the shadows and highlighting his face and slightly parted lips with golden light. He looked so beautiful. He’d seen the villain in so many ways and situations, but never like this, relaxed and sleeping. There was no cruelty or suspicion in his face, just serenity. He looked almost angelic. He almost didn’t look like the villain he had been so familiar with, except for a few scars on his neck and shoulders, which were the only marks of the terrible things he had done. To anyone who didn’t know him, he looked just a normal person, sleeping and exquisite.
A smile had spread across his face while he he had been watching the villain, but then he caught himself and shook himself. Damn it, he had to get his head on straight. No ogling the villain. Were his memories true? The villains hands in his hair, how good he had smelled, and his lips next to his ear, murmuring things he had been barely registering in the moment, but would always remember. He gnawed on his lip. Maybe he’d thought about it in passing, but that was miles away from actually doing anything. He shifted to get a better look at the bedroom, trying not to move too much and wake the villain up. Clothes were strewn all over the floor, and he honestly couldn’t tell which were his which were the villain’s. He felt his face heat up.
The villain suddenly twitched next to him. The hero glanced back at him. His features had twisted into a frown in his sleep, and his head was moving side to side slightly, like he was having a nightmare. What did villains have nightmares about? The villain’s face shifted into fear, and his hand shot out to the side, landing on the hero’s arm. Upon touching his arm, his face relaxed and he rolled over in his sleep, onto the hero. The hero froze while the villain settled up against him, in fact, half on top of him, and wrapped his arms around his chest. The villain’s face relaxed, and he seemed to settle back into a peaceful sleep.
The hero’s pulse jumped, any thought of action shattered by the sudden unconscious affection. Every instinct in his body screamed at him to do something now that his enemy was at his mercy but truth be told, he didn’t want to. After last night, he wasn’t sure of anything. Besides, he didn’t want to wake the villain up. He looked so sweet like this. It was a rare moment he didn’t want to ruin.
The threads came together in that moment, and as he felt the villain’s soft breathing against his skin, and the morning light was giving his room an ethereal quality, he realized something. It came with the painful ache of fear and horror that comes when you realize something wonderful that could destroy you with a single misstep. It was never a mistake. Those things don’t happen by accident, and no matter how much he wanted to think he hadn’t consciously done those things, if only to protect himself from the fear of the consequences. He wanted to think that’s the way it had been, that he had been drunk, but they were both stone cold sober last night. He hadn’t wanted to admit it before, but now it was hard to deny that he had fallen in love with the villain. Why else would this have happened? He wondered how long it had been going on, if there was an exact moment it had all blown out of control, but decided it didn’t matter. The point was that they’d ended up in this situation together.
And…. More flashes of last night came back. The villain’s lips had touched his first, when the hero had pinned him against the wall. He saw it coming beforehand too, with the intense stare the villain had been giving them, and the hungry gaze that lingered on the hero’s lips. The hero hadn’t moved away. That’s what had started it. Fear rose in him. He didn’t know what was worse- that he loved his archenemy, or that his archenemy loved him back.
The villain broke his chain of thoughts just then. He moved into the hero, tucking his face into the hero’s neck and making shivers run up his skin as he felt the touch of the villain’s lips. Still fast asleep. Trust him to be able to distract him, no matter the circumstances. The hero gave in and put his arms around the villain, tangling his fingers in his hair. This felt right. And Christ, how could he resist this? It was so sweet, so vulnerable. It would be unspeakably cruel to tear himself away from this. The villain didn’t trust easily, and he didn’t give himself over like this. The day hadn’t really started yet, so technically, he didn’t have to do anything. He kissed the villain tenderly and pulled the blankets up around the both of them. He decided to go back to sleep and savor this moment, because he didn’t know what else to do, and he didn’t want to consider what might happen after this. At least, not for a couple more hours.
