As you walked out of the lecture hall, you saw Sunoo waiting for you. He was pacing up and down, nervous about the whole situation. He wasn’t sure what your reaction would be. Were you going to be mad at him for inserting himself or simply thank him for being the reason you met the love of your life? He couldn’t get the thought out of his head.

“Are you okay, Sunoo?” You asked as you walked up to him. He spun his head around as soon as he heard your voice, “Yeah, I’m perfectly fine.” You shrug, and you both started walking towards the exit. There was a brief silence before he spoke up, “How was the lecture?” He asked, trying not to draw too much attention to his suspicious behavior. “It was fine, I guess. I couldn’t stop thinking about that guy.” Sunoo gave you a quick glance as he started playing with the hem of his shirt, out of nervousness. “If you were to meet him today, hypothetically, what would your reaction be?”

You let the question sit in your mind for a second. The thought of meeting him made you a little excited, but at the same time, you knew that you weren’t ready for anything yet. Between your studies and your previous relationship, being in a serious relationship felt like a burden. Not just to your studies but also to your mental health. Focusing on college and someone you love, was not the best move. A relationship takes compromise, and the thought of compromising your grades for another person just felt wrong.

He looked at you, anxiously waiting for your answer. “I don’t know. I mean, I would like to meet him and get to know him, but we both know that more than that is just not possible right now.” You said as you walked out of the building, Sunoo by your side. Your answer made him feel a sense of relief. That meant you wouldn’t kill him, right? His heart felt a little heavy thinking of everything you went through. He picked a flower and gave it to you, trying to brighten the mood. You let out a giggle at his sweet action.

The walk to the café didn’t take too long since it was just around the corner from your school. When you got there, you saw a familiar face. It was one of the guys in Taesan’s band. Was Sunoo behind this? Was he planning something? Sunoo waved at him as you walked over, but the guy seemed uninterested, as if he was annoyed by Sunoo’s presence. “Leehan, you’re already here?”, Sunoo asked, more as a statement than a question. Leehan put on a smile, “Hey, Sunoo. Took you long enough.” Sunoo forced a smile, trying to hold back on jumping the guy. “I’m sorry,” he said sarcastically. “I was waiting for my friend” he continued and pointed to you. He was not in the mood and way too nervous to put up with Leehan’s shit. “You must be y/n,” Leehan said as he held out his hand for you to shake it, “Nice to meet you.” You took his hand and gave it a gentle shake, “Nice to meet you too, Leehan.”

“Y/n, can you please go inside? I have to talk to Leehan about something.” Sunoo said with a big grin on his face. “I already got us a table. It’s in the back left corner,” Leehan said and they both started giggling. You shook off their suspicious demeanor and walked into the café. You walked over to the table blindly, not noticing the person already sitting there. You sat down across from him and immeditely went on your phone.

Taesan noticed you when you sat down. He couldn’t help but stare, again. The way your hair flowed over your shoulders, the white bow at the back of your head that was failing to keep all your hair up as some strands had fallen out at the front, the way your eyes glistened as you concentrated on your phone, your almost perfect posture that he wish he had, the color of your nails. He had the chance to completely take you in.

It was only when Taesan cleared his throat that you realized someone was there. You locked your phone and slowly looked up. You felt your cheeks get red from embarassment. The way he looked at you was like something from a fairytale. He had an awkward smile on his face, but you found something cute about it. He was perfect. His jett black hair that framed his handsome face, his broad shoulders that was covered with nothing but a black Nirvana t-shirt and the chain that hung around his neck. How is he real?

Sunoo, you little shit. I KNEW you were up to something, and when I’m done here, you will feel my wrath.

“Hi, I’m Taesan,” he said and gave you a little bow. “I’m y/n, nice to meet you” you said with a soft smile. You didn’t need to introduce yourself because Taesan already knew exactly who you were. The night he found your twitter account, he went through your whole feed. From the first time you posted, up until the present day. Everytime you posted, he would be the first to view it, and the second, and the last.

There was a slightly awkward silence before Taesan spoke up, “You’re an art student, right?” You narrowed your eyes at him. How could he possibly know that? “Yes?” You wanted to say more, but you were nervous. He was too. He started playing with his thumbs, trying to seem less awkward, “What made you decide to become an art major?” He tried to be subtle, but he found you genuinely interesting. Normally girls would throw themselves at him, but your calm demeanor made him even more attracted to you. Not to mention your pure beauty. He saw your eyes light up when he asked the question. He could feel the excitement emminating from you when you were asked about something you loved.

When Y/n talked to guys, the first thing on their mind was sex. You thought Taesan would be like that too, but him asking that question made you realize that that was not the case. He seemed intrigued by you. You sat up even straighter than you were, “Oh, well I liked to draw ever since I was little. My dad was a painter, so he used to teach me everything that he knew. When he passed, it made me even more passionate and I wanted to follow in his footsteps. I now realize that it’s not as easy as he made it seem.” Taesan felt his heart sink at the mention of your dad’s passing, “I’m so sorry. I hope he’s resting well.”

The rest of the lunch went well. You and Taesan got to know more about eachother. Turns out that the only reason they started the band was as a joke, but when they released the song, it was a total hit. The song was even playing on a few local radio stations. They decided to ride the wave and just stay a band, and their success only grew with each day.

Taesan had to go because of a family emergency so you exchanged numbers and bid your goodbyes. As soon as Taesan turned the corner, you grabbed both Sunoo and Leehan by their ears. They winced in pain as you dragged them further away from the café. You let go and they both almost fall back. Leehan rubbed his ear as it was throbbing with pain, “YOU SAID SHE WON’T MURDER US!!” Leehan said as he pointed at Sunoo and pouted. “What the hell were you two thinking?! Do you know how embarassing that was?!” You directed more at Sunoo. You rubbed your head with frustration. “Leehan made me do it. It was all his plan.” Leehan let out a gasp, shocked by Sunoo’s audacity. “Nuh uh. I have receipts, bitch” Leehan held up his phone as shaked it, almost mocking Sunoo. You let out a sigh and just walked away defeated. You didn’t have time for their bickering.

You walked into the frat house with your friends. All your senses were immediately drowned out by the sound of loud music and the smell of alcohol and sweat. This was exactly why you didn’t go to parties. The loud music that damages your eardrums. The smell of body odor and vomit. Walking around a corner and seeing people make out. It just wasn’t for you.

Ningning grabbed your hand and led you to the kitchen, which was surprisingly less packed. “Why did you have to force me here?”, you said with a scowl on your face. “Because you need some fun in your life”, Sunoo gave you a wink and handed you your drink. You took a sip “Okay sure, but why a frat party out of everything.” You leaned your back against the counter, taking in the sight of the house. “Maybe because we’re in college?” Sunghoon chimed in. “Honestly, I just want to get shitfaced and kiss hot people” Yunjin said while looking around. “Oh no, she’s looking for her first prey of the night” you joked. Sunghoon let out a giggle, “You mean girls. You have this thing against men if I remember correctly.” Yunjin looked annoyed and playfully smacked Sunghoon on the shoulder, “Atleast I get bitches”. You decided to not get involved and started scanning your surroundings, letting their bickering fade in the background of the music.

You caught something out the corner of your eye. Someone was staring at you. When you looked over at him, he didn’t look away. It was as if everything stopped. His heart was pounding out of his chest as the heat rushed to his cheeks. Why was he feeling this way? Is it love at first sight?

He was so handsome. It was hard for you to peel your eyes away. You looked away first, not wanting to look like a creep. He turned and walked way, disappearing into the crowd.

“That was weird” you mumbled to yourself. “Look who decided to join the party life.” Jungwon said as he walked towards you, Heeseung right next to him. You looked over at him “Wonnie!” You ran over to him and hugged him. He helped you get around when you joined. With both of you being the same year, you both connected really well. He was like a brother to you. You kind of drifted apart when he decided to join the fraternity, but it didn’t make you feel different about him. “Absolutely not. This is the first and last time.” You said as they joined your circle. “Come on, we’re not that bad.” Heeseung said with a smirk on his lips. “Jungwon, sure. The rest of you though, make me cringe.” Heeseung rolled his eyes at you, making his smirk disappear almost instantly.

There was a loud bang before Jake screamed from the balcony. “Paranoia is about to perform!!” No one could hear him over the loud music so you and your friends took the opportunity and rushed outside to where there was a small stage. Thankfully you were able to get front row. “I’ve never seen these guys before, but apparently all of them are super hot” Ningning said, almost jumping with excitement. There was a brief silence before the sound of an electric guitar pierced through the air. Five boys then walked out and Ningning was right, they are all very attractive.

The lead singer walked up to the mic in the front and the rest went to their designated spots. You looked up to see the familiar face right in front of you. He’s the one who was staring at you earlier. Your face started to heat up as he was staring directly at you. He broke the eye contact and looked around. “Hi guys, we’re Paranoia and we’re a college rock band. Please enjoy the show!” He said with a smile. The most beautiful smile you have ever seen.

They started playing their instruments and singing their song. Apparently it’s an original written by the lead singer

Shining stars don't mean a thing too

Through the song, he made brief eye contact with you. You eventually turned to Sunghoon asking if you had something on your face, to which he said “Ugly” That earned him a smack to the back of his head.
