I had a release planned for today but it doesn’t feel right to do that without first acknowledging what is going on currently. I hope my blog and The Sims can be an escape for those of you who are having a lot of anxiety about the state of the world right now, but today I feel the need to share. Because Black. Lives. Matter. Say it once. Say it twice. Say it until those who are in a position of power hear it. Black people and POC are constantly being killed and there is not nearly a harsh enough consequence for this. It shouldn’t happen period. Officers need to be held accountable for the crimes they have committed. They are to uphold the law, they are not above it. It is time for a change. If you can help below are links to organizations/petitions etc. that are doing some good for this world. Make sure that even if you can’t donate or attend the protests that you are using your voice for good. :) It goes a little something like this… BLACK LIVES MATTER. BLACK LIVES MATTER. BLACK LIVES MATTER.

Support the National Police Accountability Project: This group, a project of the National Lawyers Guild, helps people find legal counsel. More info here.
Support Campaign Zero, a police reform group that has been working on policy solutions “informed by data and human rights principles.” More info here.
Sign a petition: Civil rights group Color of Change launched a petition asking that all the officers involved in Floyd’s death are brought to justice. Find it here.
Or another petition: The “Justice for George Floyd” petition on Change.org already has 8.5 million supporters. That sends a big message. Find it here.
Also Happy Pride! But make sure it doesn’t overshadow the importance of continuing this fight for equality. We are all in this together.
