His name 真人 refers to "true human" ( 真 true; 人 human/person) He is just a kid created by the lowest, most miserable human behaviors. He is cruel, he is selfish, like a kid without guidance he feels interested in experiencing whatever he desires. We humans have some kind of checkpoint (built by socialization) that tells us whether we should indulge in satisfying that desire or not if it's not sociable accepted. Mahito was born yesterday, and it is only filled with those desires and no checkpoint. He is "a real human" he is based on pure instinct, no morality. (I see you Gege and your Bleach heavily inspired narrative). He is still a piece of shit, and it is not a coincidence that he had been presented like the first "bad guy" after sukuna with his heavy relationship with Junpei who actually understood his desire for revenge took him to a certain death...
