Pairing: Jung Hoseok x Reader.

Plot: The Ordinary Wizarding Levels, more commonly known as OWLS, are fast approaching and although he probably should, Hufflepuff’s treasure, Jung Hoseok, simply cannot find the power inside of him to study. Not until, that is, his girlfriend offers to lend a hand, and she wonders if offering to help him was the most suitable idea.

“Eyes on the books, Jung.”

Your eyes momentarily flick up to land on Jung Hoseok, sitting staring blankly at the textbooks in front of him. Of course, he hadn’t always been staring at the book, since his mind had a tendency of wandering during study sessions in almost every class and it was normal behaviour by now. But, even Hoseok knew himself, that these exams were exceptionally important to him and in order to do well, he had to start studying soon.

The OWLS (Ordinary Wizarding Levels, the most important exams of your entire life, probably) were less than three weeks away, and while you had been cramming in pointless facts about Trolls and the perfect way to perform the stupefy spell, your boyfriend Jung Hoseok had been busy occupying himself with other things, meaning that he quite literally did everything he could to avoid studying for his OWLS. Whether it be Quidditch, which was a fair point since Hufflepuff had a match against Ravenclaw this weekend, or the lame excuse of having to help Jimin with something after class- you name it, he was doing it.

“Why are you so bad at studying?” You heard Jimin ask Hoseok, who was sitting right beside the brunette haired boy. You grinned, thanking the God up there that the side effects that caused Jimin to have a full head of orange hair for a month, thanks to Kim Namjoon’s dodgy potion, had finally worn off. “You know you’ll never become an auror if you don’t do well on these exams.”

“Yeah, but that’s what my parents want me to do,” Hoseok explained, avoiding the wary glares of the Professor, who couldn’t help but dislike Hoseok and his usual, energetic ways. “I don’t really want to be an auror. I might just settle for some muggle job or something.”

“You’d want to be an auror though,” Jimin continued. “Earn some good money so you and Y/N can live in the house of your dreams, surrounded by the tiny feet of your young.”

Hoseok grimaced for a split second before smiling sweetly towards you, catching your shocked eye as you glanced over. He’d always found it cute whenever you studied; wearing a face of pure concentration and your hair always fell into your face. At times like those, he wished most to just lean over and brush it out of your face, maybe kiss your temple if he was feeling risky- but then he remembered that Jimin had threatened to hex him into oblivion if he made him a third-wheel again and so for the benefit of his best friend, he restricted himself. That doesn’t mean he couldn’t admire you from afar, though.

You weren’t sure if it was the gin and tonic in your hand or your excruciating dry spell that made him so attractive. Through your hazy vision you attempted to trace the outline of the man who stood two inches too close to you, his choice of poison intoxicating you further. His elbow, steady against the bar, supported his lithe frame as his gaze found yours through locks of blonde hair.

Blood rushed to your cheeks, turning your pink glow into a deep shade of crimson, and you pray that the bar’s dim lighting would shield you from the embarrassment. You flash your new neighbor a stupidly wide smile only to receive a smirk in return, why the fuck did liquid courage make you look like a fool instead of seductress? You’ve done nothing but solidify the fact that you haven’t gotten dicked down in a year at this welcoming party by freezing up whenever a male so much as looked your direction. Why did you agree to come to this gathering where you knew no one anyways? It was your ex-boyfriend who played the friendly neighbor with this apartment’s college inhabitants, and you didn’t bother to follow up with any of the friendships since you kicked the bastard out all those nights ago.
