I Really Love When A Character, Calmly And Completely Earnestly, Is Like Im Not Important, Im No One
i really love when a character, calmly and completely earnestly, is like i’m not important, i’m no one really, just a blade that people use and throw away. no one remembers me for long after i leave their life. and then you look at the evidence and it turns out that every person who meets them becomes permanently obsessed with them, for better and for worse, and the character has somehow completely missed this fact

Is anyone else ever genuinely shocked when you find out you have an impact on someone’s life? A coworker can be like “I’ve missed seeing you” and I’m just like “???? you?? missed me????? My presence has an effect on your daily experience???? I affect things??? W h a t ? ? ?”
If you don't like a story, scroll on by
As someone who has a fatal flaw of needing to have the last word, I get it. You read a story you don't like? You see details they got horribly wrong? You think they bungled the ending? You think their characters made dubious moral choices? YOU MUST INFORM THE WRITER OF HOW THEY ARE WRONG AND YOU ARE RIGHT IMMEDIATELY!
(In instances of racism, homophobia, and other sorts of harmful narratives that networks generally prohibit, I leave to your discretion.)
And again, I get it. The temptation to prove how smart we are is strong. Except, guess what? IT WILL NOT END HOW YOU THINK IT WILL END.
The writer will not thank you. (Even if you're right.)
This is not Goodreads, Amazon, or Publisher's Weekly. This shit is all for free.
And even then, no one is forcing you to read. No one is forcing you to like something. Fanfic writers are doing this out of love and for fun. And unless they consent or request to receiving your feedback, unless you are in their circle of trust -- and EVEN THEN, your critical opinion (correct or otherwise) is not wanted.
You are not our professor, our boss, or even our mother. (And seriously, even if you're our mother, we do not want to hear it.)
At best, you will be ignored. At worst, you will push yet another writer off this hellsite. And in between, you may get your ass handed to you in the comments.

Official First Day of Winter -
Yesterday. So, I randomly felt like putting this down. Even though it is late....
------------------------------
You lifted your head, your face turned to the sky, eyes closed as you smiled and lifted your arms. It had been so long - so long since you got to experience snow like this. Where you were from, it didn't snow much. You almost felt like it was a fairytale or something mythical from the past.
It didn't help that the only time you heard about snow in real life was the extreme examples and everything. It always seemed like an all or nothing with heavy consequences. But a soft snow like this - where you are in a white wonderland and the snow is gracefully falling all around...
"It's almost like soft white petals gracing us from above. Giving us a view that we never expect but surrounds us in gentle reminder of the possibilities in this world," a warm, soft voice stated, saying your exact thoughts.
You loved hearing his thoughts, they could be so poetic. He is able to word what you felt into comprehensive words when you originally thought there was no way to describe it. It was one of his many talents and something you never grew tired of. Plus his voice, his tone, the warmth, the richness, it all added to the real meaning.
"Yeah," you softly replied, not being able to add to it properly. You didn't want to ruin the perfection that was his prose.
Your smile grew as you turned to him, opening your eyes as you felt the familiar warm spreading in the hand that he reached up to hold and then brought it to his side. His smile was soft and loving, saying more than he could.
Yeah, it was moments like these that you live for. What a wonderful way to start Winter.
''Useless'' Writing Reminders
Save your documents. Strive to be safe, not sorry.
Back-up your documents. Strive to be safe, not sorry.
Placeholder names can quickly turn into forever names. Picking name(s) on a whim can lead to great things, or it can become your worst nightmare (😁).
Your writing has value. Yes, even the most inadequate of writing. You don't have to boast or even like everything you've ever written, but even the most questionable of writing will have contributed to your growth as a storyteller. Cherish it for what it is.
You can take a break. It is absolutely okay.
First drafts are scary. But you know what's more scary? Not having a draft at all.
Using clichés or ''overdone'' tropes will not kill your story. Firstly, tropes are building blocks. Secondly, humans actively search to consume stories revolving around these tropes.
Write your heart out. Boast about your writing. Boast about your friends' and fellow writers' writing. Everyone deserves recognition, even you, from within your own heart. (Sorry. That's really cheesy. But it's true).
I have come to realize my writing style is.... Very "as a person thinks" type. The inner dialogue and monologues that happen (at least as they happen in my own mind) and it creates a very different voice than those I read. I usually have to write everything as it comes first, then edit it and rewrite, edit, add to it, or realize there should be more detail...
I find it really hard to really delete everything though.
It is an interesting thing to notice. I seriously need people to read it before I post because I need to know if it makes sense to others because what makes sense to me .... doesn't hit everyone else the same way.
(Also trying to see if I can do other types of writing. My big story I hope is a bit better. I know I have started rewriting it already only because I want to start posting it soon because it is going to be a LONG one. With multiple parts. Maybe like seasons or something because - I tell you I have this whole idea darn it!)
