Why You need to make backups!

Me: Was working on dividing up a ridiculously long word doc of a book I have been working on off and on since last year.

Me: Cut a chapter to paste to another doc. Forgot to paste. Also forgot that if you exit out after saving changes to OG doc you need to make sure to save the cut section to the clipboard.

End Result: Lost the entire chapter and have to rewrite it from memory. Also, didn’t know there’s a way to save a previous draft on Word so of course that wasn’t turned on.

Moral of the story, double-check everything you do, and make sure to have backups of everything you care about, whether that’s digital drawings, writing saved to the computer, pictures, whatever. It’ll save you a lot of sweat, tears, panic and near-breakdowns.

Realizing that I have to rewrite a middle portion of my fic because it doesn't match the themes of the rest of the story...

My deadline is the end of June.

I have come to realize my writing style is.... Very "as a person thinks" type. The inner dialogue and monologues that happen (at least as they happen in my own mind) and it creates a very different voice than those I read. I usually have to write everything as it comes first, then edit it and rewrite, edit, add to it, or realize there should be more detail...

I find it really hard to really delete everything though.

It is an interesting thing to notice. I seriously need people to read it before I post because I need to know if it makes sense to others because what makes sense to me .... doesn't hit everyone else the same way.

(Also trying to see if I can do other types of writing. My big story I hope is a bit better. I know I have started rewriting it already only because I want to start posting it soon because it is going to be a LONG one. With multiple parts. Maybe like seasons or something because - I tell you I have this whole idea darn it!)

why tf does my brain work in the way that if I'm writing in Times New Roman I get WAYYYY more story done 😭😭😭😭
