I keep seeing that the fish man has been married and that somehow means Link cannot fuck him.

I'm pretty sure Link can fuck whoever wants to fuck him, so long as the writer doing the writing says so.

The question is "why have writers given up so easily".

To clarify I have no skin in this game, I'm just from the era of fanfic where if you wanted characters to fuck, you posted 2k words of grammatically dubious PWP and kept doing it until bored and damn what canon said. So it's like seeing the neighborhood kids stop playing baseball in the park to me.
