I think that there's some connection between how Simon/Ice King is and how Fionna's world is, when he was "part of the madness" Fionna's world was too, like how we see it in the original series, but now that he's not "part of that madness" and " just a normal guy" so is Fionna's world, and Since Simon's really struggling with his life Fionna's world is "glitching" as everyone analysing the trailer pointed out, Simon is obsessed with Betty, Fionna's world gains Betty imagery, but there's some things that don't change along with Simon, Ice Queen looks like Ice Queen but Human, instead of changing along with Simon and becoming instead a gender-swapped Simon, this definitely means something, it could be because Simon is trying to cling onto the Ice King identity to try and have life make sense.
