Kpop stan Twitter hates them. Sena is talentless tweets hitting crazy numbers. Jiah deactivated her Instagram account. #BaebiGoSolo has trended for three days now...They had ONE chance.
VENUS entered 2021 mad as hell with their second full album, "I AM VENUS," which included the title track "I AM. "I AM was a commercial success in South Korea and topped the Circle Digital Chart for six weeks. It also reached the top ten in Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, and Vietnam. The song has been certified platinum for streaming in South Korea. It also received four PAKs and nine music show wins.
DazedĀ ranked it 19th among the 50 best K-pop tracks of 2021,Ā andĀ GrammyĀ named it one of the 15 K-pop songs that defined 2021.
The group would repeatedly go viral for their performances of I AM as the girls were either emotional while performing the song or they were in platformed heels. For the first time in their career, Chloe was able to look people in the eyes during the music show interviews. Though the heels were a hit, they raised concerns for fans as there were multiple instances of the girls twisting their ankles or falling during performances because of them. Either way, iconic.

The platformed heels Venus wore during the promotions of I AM. These are the ones on displayed at the Angelico Artist Muesum. The group wore a total of 36 different pairs of heels for this era.
Their repacked album "VENUS, I AM." would come shortly after I AM VENUS with the title track "DIVE". Before the song's release, the teaser images for VENUS, I AM would go viral for their unique concept and artistic expression.

The teaser images used for "VENUS, I AM." under the creative direction of LEXA.
The album debuted at number one on the weeklyĀ Gaon Album Chart and also topped the monthly chart, selling 544,339 copies in its first month of release. It has since been certifiedĀ triple platinumĀ by theĀ Korea Music Content AssociationĀ (KMCA) for surpassing 750,000 units.
TÔssia Assis from NME gave Dive a 4 out of 5-star rating, describing the track "Dive" as "the definite, luxurious plunge. " Despite being "more subdued" than the group's previous album, "I AM," it is a "chaebol crush" that matches the extravagance and confidence that defines VENUS. Uproxx named it one of The Best K-Pop Albums of 2021.
The hate train finally seemed to slow with the ever-mounting success the girls were receiving. It's not like the girls had enough time on their hands to even really focus on the hate. They were always working on something. That next something would be their 6th mini album, "Illusions," followed by a title track of the same name.
Upon its release,Ā IllusionsĀ was praised byĀ music criticsĀ for increasingly showcasing all members' vocal abilities with "trendy" production. IllusionsĀ was a commercial success in South Korea and charted in Japan and the United States. It debuted atop South Korea'sĀ Gaon Album ChartĀ on the chart.Ā Overall, it ranked seventh on the Gaon's 2021 year-end album chart.4 WallsĀ debuted at number thirty-nine on Japan'sĀ Oricon Albums Chart, andĀ it peaked at number one on the USĀ BillboardĀ World Albums Chart, becoming Venus' second number one on the chart following 2019'sĀ Love Simulator.
Illusions was primarily beloved for its "multidimensional" concept and music video. In the video, the girls were trapped in a time loop, and the song restarted midway through the eight-minute video, signifying that the viewer was also in the time loop with them.

Stills from the "Illusions" music video. Creative direction by LEXA.
The girls would close out the year with the summer classic "Summer Luv!" and a title track of the same name. When I tell you this song was massive, it was huge. Love Simulator was finally overthrown as Venus' most-known song because you could not go anywhere with Summer Luv'ing.
GQĀ KoreaĀ named "Summer Luv!" its Song of the Year in the magazine's November 2021 issue. In December,Ā IZMĀ listed the song as one of its top 10 singles of the year.Ā DazedĀ ranked the song at number two on its 20 Best K-pop Songs of 2021.Ā The song landed onĀ Billboard's 20 Best K-Pop Songs 2021 list at number four. Melon ranked it number 15, whileĀ Rolling StoneĀ ranked it number 13 in their lists of the greatest K-pop songs of all time, with the latter publication praising its production and hailing it as the epitome of "summertime fun, adventure, and romance."
Summer Luv! would win the girl's Song of The Year at the 2021 MAMA Awards and the Best Dance Performance ā Female Group award. They would go on to win the Digital Daesang at the Golden Disk Awards and Song of the Year at the Korean Music Awards.

Some of the various wigs and hairstyles were worn by Venus during their Summer Luv! Promotions. Gif style inspired by @pickmedolls !
The Summer Luv! era was not only defined by success but looks as well. The girls would wear different wings at nearly every stage, mixing up their styles and colors while "giving their scalps a much-needed break," as said Chloe during an interview. The girls would go through seventy-five wigs between the five of them, with a fraction of them, the most iconic ones, being displayed at the Angelico Artist Museum.

If you were concerned that the girls were being overworked before, welcome to the year, Angelico proved you right ten times over! Refusing to lose their hype and cash flow, Venus would release their first full album, "BRAINROT," alongside the title track WORMZ4BRAINZ. "WORMZ4BRAINZ" received positive reviews from critics, who praised its production and the group's vocal delivery. It attained commercial success, peaking at number two onĀ the Gaon Digital ChartĀ and number three onĀ Billboard'sĀ World Digital SongsĀ chart.
Showing their full versatility this year, the girls would come back with their sixth mini album, "#dontlike" taking on a more "teen crush" type concept. The EP debuted at number two on theĀ Gaon Album ChartĀ and number six on theĀ BillboardĀ World AlbumsĀ chart. The songs from the album also performed well digitally. "#dontlike" charted at number one on theĀ Gaon Digital ChartĀ and number three on theĀ BillboardĀ World Digital Song SalesĀ chart.
Controversially, just two months after Jiah turned 19, Venus would release "Come N' Get It," a sexy summer mini album. While a group of Constellations were very vocal about how inappropriate it was for this concept to be done on a freshly legal adult, the general public didn't seem to care. "Come N' Get It" debuted at number 27 on South Korea'sĀ Circle Digital Chart. It rose to number one the following week.Ā The song debuted at number one on Singapore'sĀ Top Streaming Chart, theĀ Malaysia InternationalĀ chart, and theĀ BillboardĀ Hits of the WorldĀ charts for Hong Kong and Taiwan, earning Venus their first number-one in Hong Kong.

When asked about how she felt looking back on Come N Get It in the "The Road To Venus" documentary in 2023, Jiah would discuss how she feels currently about the concept vs. how she felt at nineteen.
The music video, full of provocative dancing and the girls in swimsuits, was filmed two days after Jiah's birthday, resulting in another wave of concern from fans. Jiah would only concern fans further by saying she's been waiting to do a concept like this and was very excited to show this side of her.
As a means of damage control gone wrong, VENUS would close out the year with their second digital single, "BAD GIRL," which spearheaded the Venus Hate Train of 2020. A hate train when you're in a successful girl group is to be expected, and the girls handled it to the best of their ability. However, online critics did nothing to the girls charting power and influence.
"Bad Girls" was named the best K-pop song of 2020 byĀ Business Insider, second byĀ Zenerate,Ā and amongst the best songs of 2023 byĀ Elle.Ā Apple's campaign and "Bad Girls"'sĀ music video received awards atĀ the One ShowĀ and the Spikes Asia Awards.Ā The song received four music show awards, twice on bothĀ M CountdownĀ andĀ Inkigayo.

The year is 2020, and you've sat through twelve grueling episodes of Angelico's newest survival show, The Moon Collection, watching each week as a girl is picked apart and eliminated, leaving us with the current final twelve.

š„ā§āĖ ā¹ CLICK HERE TO VOTE TODAY !
Though the final twelve are deeply beloved by users on Twitter, many of them ask, "Can't this be the final lineup?" there can only be seven in the new Angelico girl group. You watch the final performance, an original song produced by none other than fan favorite mentor Finn Lee of DeepDive, and pull out your phone to pick your top pick. You get three votes a day. Will you split your votes up among your top girls or vote for the same girl three times? The choice is yours. Get your votes in before September 22nd since that's when the polls close.
š„ā§āĖ ā¹ LET'S RECAP !
Navi Pandya is currently RANKED 1ST and has ranked 1st for the entirety of the season. That isn't a surprise to anyone since she's already won a survival show before. She ranked 5th in I.O.I, debuting with the group all the way back in 2016, but her career was sabotaged by her previous company, Flowerbank Entertainment, who locked her in the basement once I.O.I disbanded. Now, she's back and ready to debut in a group again.
FAN FAVORITE NAVI MOMENT !
Charlotte "Cherry" Kim is currently RANKED 11TH and has steadily declined in votes since the show started. In the initial rankings, she ranked SIXTH overall, but after a messy confrontation with Yoomi that left the ladder in tears, voters have not been kind to Cherry. Her talent and visuals seem to have gotten her to the finale. Cherry's career started when she was sixteen when she was a member of a grunge rock band, DOLLEYES. Due to their lack of success, Cherry left DOLLEYES in 2017 and became a trainee in Korea.
FAN FAVORITE CHERRY MOMENT !
Lee Chaerin is currently RANKED 6TH and has steadily gained votes over the season. When the show began, Chaerin was often criticized for her lack of stage presence and "dead eyes," which later turned into "crazy eyes" because she was trying too hard. She's shown massive improvement since, neutralizing her expressions while maintaining a cool demeanor on stage. Chaerin has been a trainee for three years.
FAN FAVORITE CHAERIN MOMENT !
Luna Müller is currently RANKED 4TH and has maintained her rank as fourth for half the season. Luna has a massive fanbase in Brazil that will get your Twitter account suspended for saying something even slightly constructive about their perfect angel. Despite her fans being rabid, Luna has gone viral many times for her visuals, Gen Z humor, and her close friendship with Navi. The pair often mention debuting together and are seen holding hands during elimination ceremonies.
FAN FAVORITE LUNA MOMENT !
Jang Yoomi is currently RANKED 12TH, and no one knows how she got there. While Yoomi showcased her talent and put her three years of training to good use, people could not help but notice the glaringly obvious angel edit that the producers were shoving down viewers' throats. Viewers of the show will swear they've never seen an actual Yoomi stand and that they're not real. Yoomi is quiet and sweet and was voted the best dancer among the final twelve girls.
FAN FAVORITE YOOMI MOMENT !
Isla "Love" Williams is currently RANKED 8TH and has fluctuated in rankings all season. Isla is well-known in the JPOP sphere, being a part of an overseas JPOP group called "IceDream" and then being recruited to be added to ANGERME, a group within Hello! Project. Though she graduated from the group in 2018 to become a KPop trainee, fans still adore her for her lively stage presence and powerhouse vocals. It's theorized that her fluctuating rank is due to Angelico trying to rig the lineup.
FAN FAVORITE LOVE MOMENT !
Evangeline Rostova, who goes by Evie, is currently RANKED 2ND and remained in the top three for the entire season. Evie was a successful gymnast at 17, with a good chance of making it to the Olympics. However, she left her gymnastics career behind and went to Korea to begin training. Evie is noted for having a solid Korean fanbase and fierce stage presence. She runs the practice room like the Navy, which is why every team she's led ended up winning that week. Evie is called an "Ice Queen" unless she's with Love, resulting in the pair being a popular ship on the show.
FAN FAVORITE EVIE MOMENT !
Aubrie Lee is currently RANKED 9TH and has dropped significantly in the last three episodes. Though Aubrie is talented and has been training the longest out of anyone on the show, her interaction with her brother, Finn, caused his fans to stop voting for her, resulting in her rank dropping from 3rd to 9th. Aubrie has taken on a motherly role on the show alongside Castiel as they're the eldest on the show. She's gone viral many times for her visuals and ability to shake her ass no matter the situation.
FAN FAVORITE AUBRIE MOMENT !
Kim Yuna is currently RANKED 10TH after steadily climbing the ranks all season. Yuna is not that talented. She's very pretty, and she's very funny, but she blends into the background while on stage and is often given rap parts that she butchers. In her defense, she was never training to be an idol. She was a model before joining The Moon Collection. Though she still isn't as good as the other finalists, she's steadily improved and kept the group's spirits high by cracking jokes and being a shoulder to cry on.
FAN FAVORITE YUNA MOMENT !
Saanvi "Sani" Thamp is currently RANKED 3RD and has dramatically jumped voters in the past three episodes. Sani had previously debuted in the nugu girl group "Dollsworld" in 2017 at age fifteen. She would go viral for all the wrong reasons, her "baby voice" being mocked relentlessly by stan Twitter users until Dollsworld's disbandment in 2020. When Sani appeared in The Moon Collection, viewers were shocked at her growth as a singer and performer. Though the youngest on the show, Sani has consistently raised the bar for herself every episode, consistently improving and expressing her desire to debut in a group that won't have to sell feet pics for income.
FAN FAVORITE SANI MOMENT !
Castiel Diop is currently RANKED 7TH and has remained in the top seven for the entirety of the season. Previously having debuted in the erased Angelico girl group Emphasis in 2013 under the stage name Cassie, she not only has a fire under ass to redebut but to prove herself as a talented and versatile artist. Castiel has gone viral for her one liners as well as her freestyles. She's easily the most talented rapper on the show, but also has some of the best stage presence which her fans will not hesitate to remind you about.
FAN FAVORITE CASTIEL MOMENT !
Ju Sooah is currently RANKED 5th and has shot up in votes after she danced for her life in the previous elimination ceremony. Sooah has been under the radar for most watchers, but seeing her duck walk and death drop to avoid elimination gained her a certified rainbow fanbase that is very serious about her debut. Sooah is often seen with Yoomi or Chaerin, either interacting with them or keeping to herself. Her visuals had her going viral when the show first started, but discussion has shifted to her dancing talents as she's been dancing since she was six years old.
FAN FAVORITE SOOAH MOMENT !
can you maybe make the vibe boards for the other girls like you did for chloe? i feel like it helps me visualize her more than any faceclaims! <3

here's yoonah's because she's the clearest visions i have at the moment!
TW // HYUNA

if venus was a 5th gen gg freshly debuted i feel like either jini (ex nmixx) or yoon (stayc) could portray the visuals of biblical yoonah?...

see, youre not the first one to say jini and i really just dont see it kjndfsfg yeah no i just looked at biblically accurate yoonah and dont see either of them at all š personally vvv content with fc combo yoonah has atm youha, go minsi, and jennie š©·

i am probably wrong but i feel like kim doyeon (ioi/weme) could fit biblical chloe. not necessarily for the physical features but more about the vibes, the "innocent yet mature" part, as well as a face card fitting the beauty standard of the industry (but i love jiwon!chloe with all my heart tho <3)

chloe's vibe is more inspired by taeyeon! like here's a chloe vibe n visuals moodboard:

this might only make sense to me but iykyk njkdsadsa
hiii myah! hope youāre doing well :) iāve been feeling a little nostalgic lately and was curious about something! if you donāt mind me asking, where do you think venus would be now if they were still the original ot5 (jae, aki, baebi, chloe, and jiah)? for instance, i can totally imagine jae and aki being even more protective than bliss when it came to keeping baebi (and the group in general) away from jinhwa. it feels like they mightāve been in a healthier work environment in that case? not saying i donāt love sena and bliss and all the changes (theyāre amazing!), but iāve just been wondering. anyway, i hope you have an amazing day!

i think if venus was still in their original form aka jae, aki, baebi, chloe, and jiah things would be pretty different! while jaeyeon was protective of yoonah, she was more protective of her career and would most likely look the other way when it came to yoonah and jinhwa's relationship. aki is very different as she loved yoonah more than she ever loved her career or herself for that matter, which is still canon and yall will see when i get the emphasis post up (i plan on it after i finish the discography posts).
i think the tragic part about venus is they will never have a healthy work environment because yoonah will always "love" jinhwa and he will always favor her. he favored her in the timeline before they got to this point and that always made chloe mad, even when she was the sweetest girl ever dfnjsdn these girls worked their entire lives to be where they are and though they love each other dearly, i dont see any of them giving up their careers to save each other with the exception of akiko and that's literally only for yoonah.
this was fun! i love yapping!

i knew chaeryeong could make a great jiah! also she would look cute in riize methinks!!

no i know!! she's perfect for jiah!! i cant wait to redo the riize blog and have her on there its going to be so fun!

Off topic but can I just say that I think short hair Jennie is extremely baebi coded??

NO I KNOWWW! this video is so baebi coded i love her sooo much!

rather than kim lip or jinsoul for biblical yoonah wouldn't fromis saerom be a better fit by any chance?

i dont see that at all tbh! searom is a cutie tho!

since nakyung was never in venus, will her storyline be different as well? š¤

i mean kinda? not really? she's still a victim at the end of the day and chloe was still manipulated to lie on her, ruining her reputation. venus never played that big of a part in nakyung's story and, truthfully, nakyung never played a bit part in venus' story in my opinion. one of my least favorite eras jkdsnfjdsd

After a stellar first year as a group, Venus hit 2019 swinging. They began their "Video Game Era," officially titled "VSCAPE," promoting their upcoming series of video games that would come with every comeback. VSCAPE would be a three-part series in which the girls would be put in three different genres of video games: fighting, action, and simulation.
People weren't exactly sure how seriously Angelico would take this project until their third mini album, "VSCAPE: BATTLE ROYALE," was released along with the accompanying video game under the same title. Of course, you had to buy the album and video game separately, but both came with photocards, so fans were more than happy to spend their money. Fans were even more shocked when the game was good, with stunning graphics that felt utterly out of Angelico's budget.

VENUS IN 2019 AT THEIR COMEBACK SHOWCASES: Bliss (21 via Battle Royale), Baebi (20 via PUNCHOUT), Chloe (19 via LOVE&LOSERS), Sena (17 via PUNCHOUT), and Jiah (16 via Battle Royale).
The game would be similar to Mortal Kombat but less violent. You could pick which Venus member you'd like to fight as and be paired with randomized villains or other Venus members, resulting in many hilarious reaction videos created by their fans, Constellations.
BATTLE ROUND, the title track, would win eight music show trophies and sell over 1 million copies, becoming the first Venus album to achieve this and the first group in Angelico history to have over a million sales.
They would release the second part of the VSCAPE project, another mini album and video game titled "VSCAPE: PUNCHOUT." Many fans expected the same type of gameplay from the first VSCAPE project but were shocked to be met with entirely different graphics and gameplay. This game follows the player through an apocalyptic world, trying to find the cure for the disease that's destroyed the country of South Korea. The graphics and gameplay are very similar to TellTale's The Walking Dead game, which is not shocking as they were the studio behind it. The game was praised for its interactive story elements, the girl's voice acting, and an overall storyline that had many constellations crying by the end of it.

VISION BOARDS FOR BATTLE ROYALE, PUNCHOUT, and LOVE&LOSERS.
PLAYER ONE would be the title track for PUNCHOUT, securing the girls' 12 music show wins as well as being certified platinum by the Korea Music Content Association (KMCA) for 100 million streams just three months after its release.Ā This would mark the second Venus song to achieve this.
The final and most iconic part of the VSCAPE series is "VSCAPE: LOVE & LOSERS," with the title track "LOVE SIMULATOR." The game is just that: a dating simulator featuring all the girls. Though the game concept was quite controversial, as many fans saw it as pandering to a specific audience, the art used for the game was heavily praised for its cute and unique style.

FAN FAVORITE OUTFITS FROM THE VSCAPE ERA!
Though the game was hit or miss by fans, the song took over South Korea. "Love Simulator" received positive reviews from music critics and appeared on many year-end rankings of the best songs in 2019.Ā Rolling StoneĀ placed "Love Simulator" at number 24 on their list of the top 100 songs in 2019. On the NationalĀ Circle Digital Chart, the single peaked at number two. TheĀ Korea Music Content AssociationĀ (KMCA) certified it double platinum for surpassing 200Ā million streams in South Korea.Ā The song was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) for accumulating over 100 million streams in Japan.
Love Simulator would have 17 music show wins to its name, something virtually unheard of from Angelico. It is the 4th most-awarded song in music show history.
Venus would win their first Daesang this year, taking home Song Of The Year at MAMA for Love Simulator and Best Dance PerformanceāFemale Group. They would also go on to win the Grand Prize at the Seoul Music Awards, marking another Daesang win for the girls.

hi myah! hope youāre doing well! i love seeing how people sometimes share their ideas on which idols could fit one of the girls (yoonah especially) in their minds, and itās always fun to think about. lately, me and my friend (weāre both big fans of your blog, by the way) have been having a little debate: she thinks kim lip (artms) could be a good match for biblical baebi, but i feel like jinsoul (also artms) would be a better fit. so, we thought, why not ask the baebi creator themselves? do you think either of them could fit yoonah in an alternate universe, or are we both off the mark? weāre super excited for the upcoming revamped profiles of jiah and sena (and maybe bliss too?) plus the new discography and everything else youāve got in store! have a great day!

oh my god heyyy! this ask was so cute ndksbsks cant believe venus is a topic of conversation outside tumblr thats literally so cool omg šš
i would sayyyy kim lip is more on the mark! its so funny yall mention jinsoul because i recently got an ask saying she could be chloe. i think yoonah visually is very pretty but in a more edgy type way (i think thatās the word im looking for snsksbsks) like kim lip while chloe very much fits kbs and has a more princess look like jinsoul.
very excited for this new era! canāt wait for yall to see it! š

so in this new version (?) nakyung has never been apart of venus and sena was here from the beginning?

that is what the text says, yes!

It's 2018. Angelico hasn't had an active girl group in four years. The boy group checks are getting smaller every month; their newest boy group just flopped. The bank is calling about overdue payments, and they're desperate for a hit. With what was left in their ever-shrinking business bank account, they debuted their saving grace: VENUS.
The five-member piece comprised popular trainees from their Angellies program and former I.O.I member Chloe Lee. Baebi, Bliss, and Jiah consistently ranked in the top four during the Angellies' weekly rankings alongside Chloe. The only outsider was Sena Kim, who ranked reasonably well but consistently ranked in the top ten instead of the top five like the other girls.

VENUS IN 2018 AT THEIR DEBUT SHOWCASE: Bliss (20), Baebi (19), Chloe (18), Sena (16), and Jiah (15).
SHE DEVIL, originally a digital single that later became a physical single, was a commercial success in South Korea. The song entered the Gaon Digital Chart at number five the week of its release.Ā
It was certified platinum by the Korea Music Content Association (KMCA) for 100 million streams just two months after its release.Ā "She Devil" ranked 11th on the year-end Gaon Digital Chart, making it the best-performing girl group song and second-best-performing group song of 2018 in South Korea.

"She Devil" amassed the top spot on variousĀ music programs; it achieved 9 wins, including a "triple crown" (or three wins) onĀ Inkigayo.

Next would come KISSENUS, the group's first mini-album, and come back, "Kisseus," pronounced "KISS-EE-US," which was a move to establish the Venus branding. There were so many "-eus" gimmicks during this time. Some landed, some didn't, but Kissenus landed!
Know what didn't land? Their outfits. Oh my god, it was clear Angelico was broke! Truly, one of the last groups to debut looking like losers, they had these girls looking a mess on music shows! Fans still bring up the wardrobe choices when discussing Kissenus.

Kissenus would receive 7 music show awards across various music programs, including another "triple crown" on Inkigayo.
Their final comeback of the year would be another mini album titled "Tasteus" and a title track of the same name. While the song was a banger and performed well on the charts and at music shows, securing 6 wins and retaining their "triple crowned" winner status at Inkigayo, fans began to worry if the girls were being overworked due to their constant promotion of a new release.

Their run at the 2018 MAMA Awards caused mass discourse amongst K-pop fans. The barely-year-old group won Best Female Group, Best New ArtistāFemale, and Best Dance PerformanceāFemale Group for She-Devil.
Venus saw undeniable and unheard-of success for Angelico in 2018, skyrocketing their company's stocks, becoming the faces of "Monster Rookies," and being the blueprint for what a good debut year should look like.
