It’d been a long week. Your lip was swollen and bruised, every part of you ached, and to make matters worse, you were dead tired. But you supposed no one ever said being a member of La Squadra Esecuzioni was easy.

Running on fumes, you manage to push open your front door and drop your bags, your coat falling into a heap that you decide you’ll deal with later. Stepping over the offending article of clothing, you stop to take in the state of your living room. Everything was much cleaner than you remember it being. Your books are stacked neatly on your coffee table, plants perfectly aligned on your window sill (and well-watered, you notice), and all of your accent pillows and soft blankets have been folded and positioned on their respective couches. It was immaculate, and as you stand, admiring your newly-cleaned space, you catch hints of garlic and tomato wafting through the air.

When you enter the kitchen, you find your boyfriend Risotto in front of the stovetop, diligently managing a pot of boiling pasta and a skillet simmering with pureed tomatoes, garlic, and basil leaves. You don’t miss the bottle of your favorite wine sitting off to one side, patiently waiting for you to pop it open.

A picture of domestic bliss, Risotto turns to you with a soft smile, his voice dripping with affection as he greets you. “Angelo,” he croons, abandoning dinner to pull you into his arms, “you’re finally home.” He pulls away to kiss your cheek, careful not to brush the swollen part of your lip. “How are you feeling?”

A rush of emotion hits you at once, and for a moment, you struggle to answer. Sure, you’re sore and exhausted, a little angry about your lot in life, but despite it all, you feel lucky. Yes, one of your ribs may be bruised, but your boyfriend, with a busy schedule of his own, has made your tiny apartment feel like home again in your absence, has made your life infinitely easier, and for that, you feel blessed beyond words.

Your mouth opens and closes, throat closing with unshed tears as you think of any way you can possibly repay the man standing before you. As the tears start to fall, Risotto shushes you. “It’s alright, amore mio. You’re home now; everything will be okay.”

Your heart melts at his words, and you pull him closer, ignoring the pain to kiss his lips, if only once. “I love you, Risotto. Thank you. You have no idea how much this all means to me.”

His eyes soften as he fixes you with a gaze filled with pure adoration. “You do so much for me. Please let me return the favor every once in a while.”

And you do, you let him finish dinner as you take a shower and unpack, and later, you allow him to tidy the kitchen while you put your shoes on. Some fresh air and freshly baked tiramisu will surely put your mind at ease; he tells you as he washes the dishes. When he joins you by the door, Risotto pulls you to his side and guides you down the sidewalk to your favorite bakery. That night, you go to bed feeling like you’ve just won the lottery.

What I say: Albedo is a huge asshole lmao

What I Mean: I want Albedo to get a chance to redeem himself, to see what he did wrong and to understand how bad he could have been. I want him to have a chance and show him there’s good in him and go back to pursuing science and not act like a child all the time. I want him to accept his form and still be snarky and arrogant but understand he doesn’t have to do bad deeds.
