Малоизученная яркая медуза Поралия рыжеватая. The little-studied bright jellyfish Poralia rufous.

Поралия относится к роду медуз из семейства ульмаридовых. Это монотипический род, содержащий один вид -Поралия рыжеватая. Данная медуза имеет колокольчик около 9 см (3,5 дюйма) в диаметре с восемью щупальцами в центре и с 30 тонкими тонкими придатками по внешней стороне диска . При движении Поралия может принимать волнообразную форму, она то расправит свой колокол, пока он не станет совершенно плоским, или сомкнет его, пока он не станет похож на большой воздушный шар. Колокол медузы рыжего, красного или розового цвета, иногда издалека кажется коричневым.

Поралия - медуза пелагическая и обитает на большой глубине в большинстве океанов мира. Эта медуза очень хрупкая, и большинство поднятых для изучения экземпляров были повреждены.

Poralia belongs to the genus of jellyfish of the Ulmaridae family. It is a monotypic genus containing one species, Poralia rufous. This jellyfish has a bell about 9 cm (3.5 in) in diameter with eight tentacles in the center and 30 thin, spindly appendages on the outside of the disc. When moving, Poralia can take on a wave-like shape, either spreading out its bell until it becomes completely flat, or closing it until it looks like a large balloon. The bell of the jellyfish is red, red or pink in color, sometimes appearing brown from a distance. Poralia is a pelagic jellyfish and lives at great depths in most of the world's oceans. This jellyfish is very fragile, and most specimens raised for study were damaged.

Самая длинная и полноводная в Горном Алтае река Катунь начинается с ледника Геблера у подножия Белухи, и заканчивается в месте слияния с Бией и впадения в Обь. Протяженность — 668 километров. Вода всегда холодная, в жаркие дни ее температура поднимается до 15 градусов. 

Особенностью этой реки считают смену цвета в течение года. Так в весенний и летний периоды воды имеют грязный молочный оттенок, что связывают с примесью мелкой породы из-под ледников, питающих реку. Осенью же вода становится прозрачной с бирюзовым оттенком из-за зелено-каменных включений от песчанников в верхнем и среднем участках Катуни.  Самая прозрачная, чистая и бирюзовая вода в реке бывает зимой. Большая часть реки зимой замерзает, но на порогах бурные воды Катуни выдерживают серьёзные морозы.

Место слияния Катуни и реки Бии славится своей красотой. Это связанно с тем, что воды Катуни имеют зеленоватый или бирюзовый цвет, а Бии — белый. Смешение воды в летнее время на определенном участке не происходит и выглядит как «полосатое течение». В месте впадения одной реки в другую расположен остров, который носит статус особо охраняемой природной территории.Также месту слияния рек придают мистическое значение старообрядцы, cчитая, что именно здесь состоится последняя битва добра и зла.

Mixing of water in the summer does not occur in a certain area and looks like a “striped current”. At the confluence of one river and another there is an island, which has the status of a specially protected natural area. Old Believers also attach mystical significance to the confluence of rivers, believing that this is where the last battle of good and evil will take place.

Заброшенное судно-отель на Ко Чанге.

На побережье острова Ко Чанг, входящего в состав морского национального парка Таиланда расположен крупный туристический комплекс «Koh Chang Grand Lagoona Resort» (60 гектар), изюминкой которого был круизный лайнер The Galaxy (Aunchaleena)  в качестве главного здания отеля. Это стометровое судно, перестроенное в гостиницу с 7-мью этажами. Что бы отбуксировать судно-донор для отеля вглубь территории парка, пришлось рыть канал, который потом засыпали. На огромной площади курорта тогда появились фантастической красоты пруды с лотосами, тропические парки, кокосовые рощи, гигантские статуи слонов, водопады и великолепный пляж с белым песочком. На данный же момент комплекс пришел в упадок, но туристов продолжает манить заброшенный лайнер — отель, он даже стал своеобразной достопримечательностью острова, для любителей отдыха в необычных местах. Причины угасания популярности этого места просты: проблемы с транспортной доступностью (придется взять на прокат машину и отправиться вглубь острова) и с самой инфраструктурой на Ко Чанге. А также есть версия, что морской курорт попросту закрыли из-за отсутствия разрешительных документов на строительство в заповедной зоне.

В настоящее время прогуливаясь вдоль пляжа, можно увидеть колоритные лодки-шале и оригинальный административный корпус, расположенный в заросшей лагуне. Несмотря на то, что главный отель курорта совсем в плачевном состоянии, ходят слухи, что часть корпуса еще функционирует, там сдаются номера по бросовой цене. Также сдаются номера в кораблях-шале, правда, былой роскоши там уже нет, но провести несколько ночей любители экзотики и экономии тоже могут. Мало вероятно что "флагман" курорта когда-нибудь восстановят, это слишком нерентабельно.

There is also a version that the seaside resort was simply closed due to the lack of permits for construction in a protected area.

Nowadays, walking along the beach, you can see colorful chalet boats and the original administrative building located in an overgrown lagoon. Despite the fact that the main hotel of the resort is in a very deplorable state, there are rumors that part of the building is still functioning and rooms are being rented out there at a bargain price. Rooms are also available for rent in chalet ships, however, the former luxury is no longer there, but lovers of exoticism and economy can also spend a few nights. It is unlikely that the “flagship” of the resort will ever be restored; it is too unprofitable.

Московский художник с говорящим псевдонимом Гошмар (Goshmar) рисует то, что многим не узреть даже в самых страшных снах, настолько атмосферны и выверены в цветовой палитре кошмарные образы его картин, на подсознательном уровне вызывющих всю палитру острых чувств - от холодного ужаса темных закоулков души, до безысходной депрессии мрачного утра после бессонной ночи.

Георгия Месхишвили родился в Москве, в 1986 году. С детства увлекался созданием страшных картинок. Художник по его словам черпает вдохновение в фильмах 80х - Терминатор, Робокоп, Муха, Зловещие мертвецы. Потом на него огромное влияние оказали видео игры- Alone in the Dark, Resident Evil и Silent Hill. Из музыки предпочитает мрачный Хэви Метал. Вот этот коктейль и сформировал творческое направление художника.

Giorgi Meskhishvili was born in Moscow in 1986. Since childhood, I have been interested in creating scary pictures. The artist, according to him, draws inspiration from the films of the 80s - Terminator, RoboCop, The Fly, The Evil Dead. Then he was greatly influenced by video games - Alone in the Dark, Resident Evil and Silent Hill. His favorite music is dark Heavy Metal. It was this cocktail that shaped the artist’s creative direction.

Осьминог Дамбо или Гримпотевтис (лат. Grimpoteuthis)– это мягкотелое глубоководное животное, которое получило свое название благодаря двум плавникам, расположенным на мантии, которые напоминают слоновьи уши. Известно, что в природе существует порядка 37 всевозможных разновидностей осьминогов Дамбо, классифицированные на 4 семейства. Обычно в зрелом возрасте эти осьминоги достигают в длину 20 см, однако самый большой когда-либо зарегистрированный представитель этого рода был в длину около 180 см и весил около 6 кг. Гримпотевтис обычно обитает на глубине от 100 до 5.000 метров, хотя некоторые виды были обнаружены на глубине 7.000 метров.

По сравнению с другими моллюсками, осьминог Дамбо предпочитает заглатывать пойманную добычу целиком. Разновидности Гримпотевтиса, обитающие на дне, питаются, в основном, ракообразными, червеобразными животными и двустворчатыми моллюсками. Уникальны Дамбо ещё и тем, что из-за специфики среды обитания лишены способности изменять окраску. Их пигментные клетки имеют весьма примитивное строение, оттенки Дамбо варьируются от фиолетовых и пурпурных, до бордовых и шоколадных. А ещё у Гримпотевтисов нет чернильного мешка, зато они умеют становиться совершенно прозрачными.

It is known that in nature there are about 37 different varieties of Dumbo octopuses, classified into 4 families. Grimpothevis usually lives at depths between 100 and 5,000 meters, although some species have been found at depths of 7,000 meters.

Compared to other mollusks, the Dumbo octopus prefers to swallow its caught prey whole. Bottom-dwelling species of Grimpothevis feed primarily on crustaceans, worm-like animals and bivalves. Dumbo is also unique in that, due to the specifics of its habitat, it lacks the ability to change color. Their pigment cells have a very primitive structure; Dumbo's shades range from violet and purple to burgundy and chocolate. Grimpoteuthis also does not have an ink sac, but they can become completely transparent.
