Pairings: James Patrick March x Female!Reader

Warnings: Blood. Knives. Violence. Death. Alcohol. Smoking. Bondage. Sexual harassment. James Patrick March.

Summary: Y/N got killed by Mr. March. Oops.

A/N: First time writing here. Open for requests. English is not my first language, so there must be some mistakes. It is probably not worth reading, but I hope you enjoy it. Let me know if you want something particular next time. <3

Death. The smell that appeared disturbing and exciting at the same time. Death was in the walls, in beds, in the air. Palace of Hell. A place for Sin. Home for Lost Souls. Torture chambers. The Great Hotel Cortez.

It was about 5 pm when I checked in. Mesmerizing sunset. The harbinger of night.

“It’s your first time here, isn’t it, dear?” The receptionist lady looked at me head to toe and smiled.

“Yes, you are right.”

“Wonderful, I hope you will like it here. Let me show you your room.”

We walked toward the elevator and arrived at the 7th floor. Dimly lighted halls with red carpets kept secrets and I almost felt their mystery on my skin. The air was heavy, filled with the sins of this place.

“Room 68, dear. - she gave me the keys.”

“Thank you, Mrs…”

“Taylor. Liz Taylor”  She smiled. “You can call me Liz dear.”

I nodded and inserted the key into the door lock.

“Oh, by the way,”  Liz stopped and turned to me again. “I hope to see you at the bar later, I make exquisite filthy martinis.”

“You can rely on me.” I smiled.

She walked away and the echo of her shoes was haunting my ears for past half an hour. The room was cozy, almost luxurious. Looked like the style of the Roaring 20s with all dark and gold colors and Art Deco furniture. I unpacked my suitcase and looked at the clock. 7 pm. I fixed my makeup and got dressed in a red club dress with a black leather jacket. I was tired, bored, and uninspired. I haven’t written a word for a week and this writer’s block really got me in a chokehold. So I left the room with a certain goal. To get drunk and have fun.

I decided to explore my floor a bit. The massive window at the end of the hall had no view. Well, the view to an abandoned building and a dirty valley. Cute. I wandered through the halls and felt the power of these walls. I felt the danger, the alluring atmosphere. I thought that I was smelling the metallic sense of blood.

“My, my.”  I gasped at the sound of the male voice behind me. “Perhaps you are lost, my dear”

He looked oddly handsome. Tall. Dark hair. Perfect black suit. Pencil moustache. Dark piercing eyes.

“I am not. Thank you. Just… walking around.”

He studied me. Watched me intently, like a predator hunting down its prey.

“Well, I could take you on a tour if… if you want, of course.” He smiled charmingly. “Such a beautiful lady like yourself shouldn’t walk in the evening hours alone.”

“I don’t even know you.”

“Where are my manners? Accept my apologies darling, my name is James Patrick March.”  He kissed my hand gently. “I am the owner of this fine establishment.” He knocked on the nearest wall.

“The owner? How… convenient.”  I turned to him, looking him up and down.

He chuckled. God, his deep voice. He walked me toward the elevator slowly.

“Can I ask your name, dear?”

“Y/N. Y/N Y/S.”

“Y/N.” He murmured. “Beautiful name for a beautiful lady.”

He stopped as we reached the elevator.

“So,? Would you consider my offer, to show you around, Mrs. Y/S?”

“Thank you, Mr. March. But I’m afraid I have to decline.”

“Well, I’m always there, if you need me, dear.” He kissed my hand and waited until I entered the elevator cabin. “Have a good evening, Mrs. Y/N.”

The cabin doors closed and I sighed in relief. That man was hot as hell, but his “gentleman” attitude and hungry gaze got me the heebie-jeebies. Well, maybe it was my paranoia. Probably he is a good guy. Devilishly handsome good guy.

I quickly walked to the bar counter and took a seat. Liz was behind the bar, rearranging some bottles and after a few minutes, she noticed me.

“I’m glad you came, dear. Mind a drink?”

“I’d like to try your martinis.”

I was surprised by how quickly she made it. Liz fixed her dress and after giving me a glass, leaned on the counter with her elbows.

“ Thanks.” I smiled.

“Dear, I wonder, what such a young pretty creature like you is doing in a place like this, hm?”

I chuckled while sipping my martini.

“It is a lovely hotel. I mean, of course, it has a sort of reputation, but… It’s an interesting place, I find it inspiring.”

“Do you do some sort of creative work?”

“I’m a writer.”

“How interesting. You know I have always gotten along well with creative people.” She took a pack of cigarette out of her pocket and lighted it. “As I see, you are single, aren’t you? Because I’m telling you, if you are thinking about meeting someone in this place forget about it. Only freaks and coke-heads stay here.”

“Sounds like fun working here, huh?” I chuckled. “I actually have already met… someone.”

“Who?”

“Mr. March. We accidentally met in the hallway”.

Liz’s smile disappeared from her face.

“Dear, believe me, you don’t want to know this man.”

“Why is that?” I studied her expression closely.

She looked around and leaned closer.

“Bad things are happening in Cortez, very bad.”  She whispered. “Just promise me that you will not-”

“Gossipping, Lizy?”

I turned to the voice. It was a tall woman, dressed in a cheetah print coat over a velvet purple mini-dress. She sat at the next chair to me and lighted up her cigarette.

“What do you want, Sally?” Liz asked watching her.

“Bloody Mary. Thanks, babe.”

Liz sighed and started making the cocktail. Sally watched me closely.

“I’m Sally.” She took my hand to shake it. “They call me Hypodermic Sally.”

“I’m Y/N.”

She exhaled smoke in my face and chuckled.

“There are three reasons people come to Cortez. To fuck. To do drugs. Or to kill. Sometimes all three.” She leaned closer. “So why are you here, angel?”

I looked her in the eyes and sipped my drink.

“Neither of these. Just traveling.”

“You better not be a cop.”

“I’m not a cop, Sally.”

Liz put her glass in front of her and said:

“Sally, dear, just be nice, please.”

“I am nice.”

“Everything is fine,” I said with a smile. “I like Sally.”

Sally turned to me again studying my features.

“Be careful, Missy. This place will eat you alive like it has eaten everyone else.”

By that time I finished my drink and after thanking Liz, decided to go back to my room. It was disturbingly quiet on the 7th floor and almost pitch black. I wasn’t drunk, but one martini on an empty stomach got me a bit light-headed.

“Oh, Mrs. Y/S, I wasn’t planning to see you again today. Looks like it’s fate, don’t you think?” There he was. Mr. March at his white gloves and his sexy accent. I shivered a bit at the sound of his voice but tried to remain calm.

“If I was more paranoid, I would have thought you were watching me.” I chuckled, but after this sentence rolled out of my tongue I felt fear crawling up my back.

“My, my, you aren’t scared, are you?” He stepped closer smiling at me charmingly.

“Should I be?”

He laughed, circling me. His moves were hypnotizing.

“Mrs. Y/S, you are an interesting woman. Sharp minded. I like it.”

“I would like to go to my room if you let me.”

March walked to me from behind and I felt his breath on my neck.

“You are saying it like I am keeping you by force, dear.” He chuckled darkly and it sent shivers down my spine. “You can go whenever you like… But do you really want to?” He gently placed his hands on my shoulders and inhaled my scent. I felt numb. I stepped away from him and prevented his hypothetical attacks from behind.

“I’m not a hooker.”

“Oh, darling, you offended me. I would never assume that you are. I’ve seen thousands of female faces and it always is very noticeable when a woman is selling herself. You are not like that.”

I took another step away from him, creating more distance between us.

“Then why are you paying so much attention to me?”

March chuckled, his hands in his pockets, his gaze fixed on me.

“Perhaps I find you intriguing.”

I raised an eyebrow, not convinced by his answer.

“I’m not naive, Mr. March.”

He chuckled again, circling me like a lion ready to attack. He came up very close to my face. I felt his breath again. My heartbeat increased. We were so close that I could see his perfect teeth.

“Of course, you are not.”

March stepped closer, standing very close, his eyes locked with mine.

“You are trembling, dear.” He observed. “And your cheeks flushed. Your heart is beating so fast. I can practically hear it.”

“I’m tired.” He looked me in the eyes and it became difficult to breathe.

March chuckled, amused by my response. He slowly walked closer, trapping me against the wall.

“Such fear. And yet, I sense no resistance. Tell me, Y/N, are you afraid of me?”

“No.”

He reached out and traced a finger over my collarbone, making me shiver.

“No?” He leaned closer, his lips hovering near my ear. “I don’t believe you, my dear. You are shaking like a leaf. Your body is betraying you.”

March chuckled again, his breath tickling my skin. He tilted my chin, forcing me to look at him.

“What do you want from me?”

“That’s the question you should have asked before you got trapped.” He chuckled sinisterly and before I had a chance to say something, he covered my mouth with a handkerchief and pressed me to the wall. My eyes widened in fear. I tried to push him away, to fight back. But March’s strength was overwhelming, his body pressed firmly against mine, his scent filling my senses.

“No, no dear. Don’t fight it.” He whispered in my ear, his voice smooth as velvet. “Just relax. Let yourself go.”

The realization hit me like a punch in the gut. The handkerchief must have been soaked in something, a strong sedative or a drug because I rapidly lost consciousness.

The world faded away into a black void.

Darkness shrouded my mind, blocking my thoughts. My body hung limp, and I slowly began to lose awareness of my surroundings.

Suddenly everything plunged into darkness.

                                                      ✦✦✦

When I opened my eyes again, I could see nothing. I tried to move, but it was like my body weighed a ton. My limbs were unresponsive and my mind felt clouded by a thick fog.

I couldn’t tell how much time had passed, or even if I was awake or still sleeping. It was as if I was stuck in a state of semi-consciousness, aware enough to be terrified but too weak to do anything about it.

Panic began to set in as I tried to make sense of my surroundings. Darkness pressed in from all sides, making me feel confined and trapped. I needed a few minutes to understand that I was tied up. The realization hit me like a freight train, causing my heart to skip a beat.

I was trapped. Bound tightly, unable to move my wrists or ankles. Panic and fear rushed through me as the reality of my situation sank in.

“No, no, no…” I muttered, struggling against the restraints, but they held firmly, biting into my skin.

My heart pounded in my chest as the sound of his voice echoed through the dark room.

“Awake already, are we?”

I could picture his sinister smile in my mind, despite the darkness surrounding me.

“What the fuck do you want from me?” I cried, trying not to burst in tears.

“Such language. So feisty.” He chuckled again.

I heard his footsteps nearing me, his shoes tapping slowly against the floor.

“What I want from you, my dear, is simple. I want to see what’s hiding behind this sharp tongue and these defiant eyes of yours. I want to hear your last breath.”

“Please…” I whispered.

He chuckled darkly again, his breath near my ear.

“Oh?” He stepped closer. I felt his touch on my knee. “Is that a please I hear? No more fiery retorts? No more threats from that naughty mouth?” He leaned closer and I finally saw his face. It was the face of The Devil. His features were twisted into a sinister smile, his eyes glowing with an almost demonic glint. He crouched in front of me, studying my face intently.

“There it is.” He said, his voice low and dangerous. “The fear. It’s like a perfume on you. You smell exquisite, my dear.”

I felt a cold metal pressing my collarbone. My heart sank deep into my stomach at the touch of the blade to my skin. A cold chill ran down my spine. I Instinctively tried to break free, but ropes were too tight.

“Don’t move.”  he warned, his voice a sinister whisper. “I have a sharp edge here. And I don’t want to ruin your pretty face that quickly.” My heart pounded against my ribs as the cold metal rested on my cheek. The sharp edge stung slightly, a hint of pain that made me shiver. Tears dropped quietly from my eyes.

March chuckled, his eyes gleaming with excitement. “So beautiful. And so fragile.”

“So… fragile.” He repeated, practically purring, his lips almost brushing against mine.

His proximity was overwhelming. His breath, hot against my skin. I could feel my heart racing harder, drumming against my ribcage.

A sense of dread and excitement mixed together, my stomach twisting with a strange sensation. His hot breath fanned over my face, sending shivers all over my body. I felt his lips on mine. A mix of fear and desire rushed through me as his tongue traced the outline of my lips, demanding me to open my mouth for him. His lips hungrily claiming mine as his own. I felt his tongue exploring my mouth, his grip on my face firm. Fear. Pleasure.

“Ah, almost too pretty to kill.” He whispered and in a second he stuck a knife in my stomach. The combination of fear, pleasure and the effects of the sedative overwhelmed me. He kept stabbing me and i felt blood poured out of my mouth.

“No…” I breathed out, not being able to talk anymore. Everything got dark again. The pain was unbearable and the world blurred.

“Shh,” He smiled. “See you soon, my precious hummingbird.”

Thank you for reading, have a great day, darling <3
