Local billionaire and his crime boss boyfriend

Find someone who looks at you the way Ivy looks at her plants.
Oh, and she looks at Harley the same way, yeah
As a member of a DID system (which Harvey unquestionably is too), I found it to be such an interesting take! In general I find corrupt politician Harvey to be… lazy and boring, when there’s so much nuance to his character already. But what felt interesting to me was that Harv/Two Face (or whatever you call his “scarred” alter) seemed to control the front during his time as DA much more during said corruption and Harvey seemed to control the front/show up WAY more afterwards.
It feels more common to see Harvey shy away from the front during times of high conflict and violence—usually in a “well you got us into this mess so you can get us out of it” way—so the fact that he was the one in the finale instead of Harv felt… uncharacteristic, but very very hero of him. He didn’t need to be protected or saved anymore from either Harv or the external violence. Instead he was stepping into himself because being the hero/white knight/etc. is at his core more than being a corrupt politician or a criminal or a killer. It almost makes sense that he’d want to front for what felt like his last opportunity to save the day than at any point prior.
The suddenness of the shift is pretty accurate for DID. From an external perspective, it often feels completely random and weird and uncharacteristic for a change to happen so out of the blue. But that’s just part of it! Especially knowing just how different Harv and Harvey are at their cores, seeing as they’re almost exclusively portrayed as polar opposites. But when Caped Crusader had been portraying Harv primarily the whole season, it makes sense that it feels like a full 180–because it is.
Of course, the thing I’m almost always forced to recognize when I consume media in this way is that 90% of the time, the creators are not trying to write an accurate or interesting portrayal of DID. So there’s a high probability that they were just looking for an easy out and wrote a clumsy and dramatic end to the show/character with no further thought on the matter than making it flashy. But that’s just how I interpreted it!
Batman: Caped Crusader is like.... fine.
Less fine in that the finale relies on Harvey, who we've been shown is corrupt in early episodes, suddenly swerving into totally wanting to make the city better so the writers can clumsily cram in the stock "isn't this sad, you guys, Harvey was the hope for the city" plot.
