Mr. Affenwort stares down at Philip lividly. "What did I say? WHAT DID I SAY?!" Philip drops his head. "I-I swear, I didn't know, it just was so tempting bu-" "Excuses, excuses!!! I told you under no circumstances EVER use a resurrection spell on the living. Dead. Only! And now you-" "Hhhhhheyyyy, bros, what up?" A skeleton walks into the room in a lanky manner. "...Nothing, Steve." Affenwort says, looking away in frustration. "Hey, Philip, dude, wanted to say thanks again for bringing me to life, man! So far living was gnarly." "You... don't say?" Philip replies with an anxious laugh. "Anyway, I'm off to try out some burritos. They say it's the BOMB. See ya!" And Steve the Skeleton leaves the room. The room grows quiet. "...*Sigh*, Look." Affenwort says, breaking the silence. "You shouldn't let Steve know, under ANY circumstances, that his creation was simultaneous with the accidental murder of George, do you understand? Steve is not the skeleton of George Randalls who was made alive with a resurrection spell and emerged in gory horror out of George's body, understand?" "...Yes sir." Philip nods quickly.

Your teachers always warned you to never, under any circumstances, cast a resurrection spell on someone still alive, but refused to elaborate why. Today your curiosity got the better of you.

She made another giant brushstroke, her eyes gleaming as she looked at her canvas. Her masterpiece was complete. She joyfully raised her work with her hands and looked over it, smelling the scent of fresh acrylic paint, before taking it with her excitedly out of her workshop. Passing through hallways, going down a flight of stairs, a few doorways. For a brief moment she almost dropped the painting, but fortunately saved it in time. She finally reached the room she was looking for: A very long room extending to about 20 meters, 3 meters wide, the walls lined with many portraits, all painted. They seemed to belong to soldiers: Hardened faces, dirt smudged and scarred. However, their surroundings were filled with beautiful flowers and trees. They were all smiling, and in peace. There was an empty spot between the artworks, and she placed it there. She stood back and took a long glance at all the faces surrounding her. She took a deep breath of satisfaction. "Final one?" Came a voice from behind her. A man that seemed in his 60s, his face tanned and weathered by the elements and time, stood at the doorway of the room. "Yes, commander!" She replied cheerfully, bringing her hand to her forehead in a salute. The old man chuckled. "Stop calling me that, and definitely stop doing that. I'm not your commander anymore, and you're no longer my subordinate." "Ah, sorry!" She laughed while scratching the back of her head. "I guess the faces around me reminded me of the old times in the battle field." "Heh, I can see that. How long is it, now?" "About 15 years." "Really, now? Oh, how the time flies by. Back then there was nothing to smile about. Every day could've been our last, and for some of us it was. I wouldn't imagine that life could ever brighten up for us, but look now. I'm still living and kicking, and you're as lively as ever, painting and wearing beautiful dresses." She felt her face heat up a bit, and could only imagine she was blushing. Somehow, despite all of the augmentations to keep her level hearted and unnaturally calm, she started feeling much more emotional in the past years, especially when she started painting. "Do you think they're all watching us?" "You damn good know I know they are, and they're rooting for us. Just like how you can see all their peaceful faces in your paintings, they're watching you, and rooting for you. To keep living on." "To keep living on." She repeated, looking once more at the portraits around her.

She’s a battle-scarred, jaded super-soldier loaded with biomechanical upgrades and chemical augments. All she wants to do is wear cute clothes and paint.
