august is for the people who are still heartbroken over a relationship that never happened, people who stay up past 3am waiting for a reply, prioritise everyone else in life because they have so much love to give but don't think they deserve it themselves, people who are always left out of plans in friend groups, people who have always been the second, third, or forth choice but still get excited over being chosen at all. august is for cruel summer girls who romanticise the idea of doomed star-crossed lovers bc they can't imagine themselves in a happy ending, mirrorball girls who think they'll never be enough. august is for people who obsessively rewatch old shows bc they like the comfort of familiarity, people who enjoy sitting by their window listening to the sound of rain, people who cancel plans just in case they'd call and people who live for the hope of it all.
