I’ve been tracing my family tree off and on for a few years now. One thing that doing this brings home is how many lives are lived without any real lasting impact on the world except that those lives produced children of their own. No great inventions, no honours and awards, no notable benefits to mankind, just a life of hard work with kids as the only legacy that outlasts it.

Something to think about when setting life’s priorities.
