So I Learned Many Things About Tallulah.
so i learned many things about Tallulah.
She has asthma. makes sense.
she has trouble expressing her emotions to others. awww :(
She bottles up her some of her emotions bc of all the trauma and horrors on the island. but also bc of how everybody interacts differently and specifically with different people.
she thinks other people see her as a spoiled child/ brat, and doesnt like that. which sounds like something a special needs child would say.
this entire day was full of emotions but she knew that some of her family wouldn't understand bc they weren't there. was she afraid of how they might react if she did say something?
She sounds like that overshadowed middle child (Or i'm projecting into my character analysis).

Baghera speaks Spanish. When Quackity first annouced the French speakers , I decided to look them up. Then got recommended a YT video of her speaking Spanish, talking about the QSMP invitation.
made me confused for a bit. then figured it out quickly.
Now I wish we hear her speak more Spanish in the server.
Iām disappointed with how many Disney Villain Recruiters fanfics are on AO3. Iām more disappointed with how many star the lady recruiters as main characters.
I want fluff, silly shenanigans, and related. I want a cute silly drabble of Mr. Dalmatia holding some dog toys and a leash, pestering other recruiters to either play with him or take him for a walk.
Cringe started as a verb describing a physical reaction, i.e.: "I cringe when I see [x]."
Modern slang has turned cringe into an adjective describing anything to which a person might have such a reaction.
.
This shift in language is illustrative of a shift in culture.
.
For a while there, in the early 2000s, there was this big sex positivity movement and we talked openly about kink and queer sexuality and creating a culture of consent that broke away from traditional conservative ideas of moral respectability.
And now we are in the midst of this giant purity culture backlash, this giant push for rigid conformity all over the internet. Anything that deviates from the norm even remotely is ridiculed.
And this cultural shift is perfectly encapsulated in this singular linguistic shift, this verb becoming a noun.
The Revenge of the Pearl Clutchers
That's what "cringing" is. It's pearl clutching.
When the pearl clutchers turned cringe into an adjective, they turned a reaction into an accusation. The pearl clutchers don't want to take responsibility for their own kneejerk emotions. They want to blame YOU.
They are saying, "My disgust isn't the fault of my own backwards prejudices. It is YOU who are inherently disgusting. My inability to cope with even the slightest deviation from norm is not the problem here. YOUR refusal to rigidly conform is the problem. I am not the one who is cringing. YOU are the one who is cringe."
Fuck 'em.
.
Take the word back.
Cringe is not something people are.
It's something judgmental assholes do.
Me, history and culture lover, not history major, forgot everything from high school: so... gringo is used towards foreigners who aren't spanish and portuguese speakers.
my brother, high school student, currently learning history: gringo came from the Mexican-American War. The Americans wore green coats.
a little more information regarding the maui wildfires:
medical workers on the ground are describing finding hundreds of bodies. the current death toll in the media is, unfortunately, only a fraction of the reality
hospital workers are describing injuries and trauma as if survivors had come out of a warzone
thousands are still missing
an apartment complex for the elderly was lost. not everyone could get out. people were saying goodbye to loved ones over the phone
people who did get out of lahaina were leaving with ashes covering their faces and nothing but the clothes on their backs. people are losing everything.
hotels are still operating. hotels are still operating. they are not the ones offering shelters or housing or food. even bowling alleys are offering shelter, but hotels have the audacity to build on burial sites but not open their doors to local families who have lost everything.
