& trying to figure out what the fuck it meant

So let's say in the baby lu au Sabo doesn't come back after being shot down and becomes a revolutionary like in cannon

How do you think it would change Luffy's and Ace's childhood and how would the reunite?

if sabo disappears at ten, luffy’s still a baby, too young to form memories. ace is suddenly forced to raise a baby on his own, and there’s a gaping hole in his heart, but he can’t just let luffy forget the boy that was supposed to be there, so luffy grows up learning about his other brother through pictures and memories. he mourns a piece of himself he doesn’t know because his heart’s always been too big like that.

sabo never does figure out why it feels he’s left something important behind, but he doesn’t let it bother him

the reunion……. i’m not sure how that would go… ace would probably find sabo first since he’s so far ahead. it’s emotional and ace voices a lot of his thoughts; “damn you for leaving us like that, i’m so glad you’re alive, luffy’s gonna be so excited to meet you,” and it’s then sabo realizes oh, right, my baby brother hardly even knows who i am. that’s not very ideal

tldr it’s different and hard and a little lonelier, not that luffy knows any different
