Takes me how long to realize I had a typo... Meant to say "But I don't see that when Johnny and Ponyboy interact, ..."

You know... Ponyboy describes Johnny as the pet of the gang, everyone's kid brother... But I don't see that when Johnny and Johnny interact, in fact, I almost see it as the other way around. Specifically when they are at the church, and Johnny had just told Ponyboy to shut up about the night before.

Johnny stops crying as Ponyboy starts (or Pony starts after Johnny stops, both have major meanings), and Johnny says (and im quoting); " "This is my fault," Johnny said in a miserable voice. He had stopped crying when I started. "For bringin' a little thirteen-year-old kid along. You ought to go home. You can't get into trouble. You didn't kill him." "

Though that may be isn't the best example, I can see exactly when there's a small shift from "Johnny's everyone's kid brother" to maybe, Johnny is everyone but Pony's kid brother.

Another example (to me at least) was just before the above quote.

"I didn't mean to," he finally blurted out, "but they were drownin' you, and I was so scared..."

*during the party at the end of the movie*

Wade: "I'm gonna go get my camera."

Logan: "Why?"

Wade: "Need a new family picture, peanut."

Logan: "Oh yeah, guess the old one got destroyed, huh?"

Wade: "Well I'd need a new one, anyway."

Logan: "Why?"

Wade: "You weren't in the last one."
