“FINALLY!” Moriarty announces to the air, whirling in place as confetti falls from the ceiling.

I had no idea it was up there but the annoyance when the bits of paper got stuck in my hair and went down my shirt was palpable. Unfortunately I wasn’t allowed to move or react.

Moriarty liked his bodyguards to be stoic.

When We Are The Champions began playing at ear splitting volume, I nearly flinched, nearly drew attention to myself and I was lucky he was facing the other way. If he’d have seen me go to stuff my fingers into my ears, he would’ve shot me on the spot.
