One of the reasons Lawfulverse Jonathan is still a practicing Catholic is because I’ve always seen Jonathan’s character type as one of reclamation.

Scarecrow was a jeer thrown at him as a child, a disparaging name. Jonathan took that name and used it to feel power, to feel in control.

I think Jonathan has every right to reject the religion his guardian raised him in. He has every right to look at faith and never want anything to do with it.

I chose to have Jonathan reclaim his faith from the abuse he suffered, to take his beliefs and separate them from the people that hurt him. I think, in a way, I thought the choice showed how hard it is for Jonathan to let go of his childhood, but that he can take comfort from some things, little things.
