YOUR PARENTS’ VOICES ECHOED THROUGH THE HOUSE, their harsh words slicing through the tension-filled air like a knife.

you had always been the "good girl," the one who followed the rules, got good grades, and never stepped out of line, that came along with having super religious parents.

but tonight, everything had changed. the argument had started over something small, wanting to get a tattoo and had quickly escalated into a full-blown fight.

their threats of kicking you out of the house had stung more than you cared to admit. — more under cut !

in a fit of rebellion and hurt at the fact that they would go that far just because of a tattoo, you stormed out of the house, your mind racing in rage and anger.

you had wanted a tattoo for a while, but your parents had always forbidden it.

now, with their words still ringing in your ears, you decided it was time to take control and stop playing the role you’ve been entertaining your whole life to please your parents.

you headed to the tattoo shop downtown, determined to make a statement.

as you pushed open the door, the smell of antiseptic and ink filled your nostrils.

the place was dimly lit, and intimidated you at first with the sight of a place your father would be sure to call “hell on earth”.

with the hum of tattoo machines and low music creating a surprisingly calming atmosphere. you walked up to the counter, your heart pounding in your chest.

"hello, anyone there? i'm here for a tattoo," you called out, your voice wavering slightly.

a figure emerged from the back room, and your breath caught in your throat as you realized who it was.

lee heeseung, the quiet boy who had sat next to you in high school. he had always been shy, rarely speaking and always absorbed in his drawings, and you won’t lie — you had a big crush on him, but he always avoiding speaking to you, turning the other way or putting in headphones to avoid you completely.

now, he looked different—confident, almost cocky, with a smirk playing on his lips, staring you up and down shamelessly.

"no way in hell — y/n?" he asked, his eyes lighting up with recognition.

"lee heeseung?" you replied, equally surprised.

"am i in the right place?"

he chuckled, leaning against the counter.

"you are. what brings you here, y/n? decided to get a little rebellious?"

you felt a blush creep up your cheeks in embarrassment, seeing him under these circumstances.

"something like that. i had a fight with my parents and… i guess i wanted to do something for myself and not for them.."

heeseung's expression softened for a moment before his confident demeanor returned.

"well, you're in good hands. do you know what you want?"

you nodded, pulling out a piece of paper with a simple design you'd been dreaming of for a few months now.

a delicate floral design with a butterfly on your arm, heeseung grinned as he thought of it completely suiting you.

heeseung studied it longer, then looked back at you, his eyes gleaming.

"perfect choice. but are you sure? it can be pretty painful."

you hesitated, the fear of pain momentarily overshadowing your resolve.

seeing your uncertainty, heeseung stepped closer, his voice dropping to a soothing tone.

"don't worry. i'll take care of you."

his words sent a shiver down your spine, and you nodded, allowing him to lead you to the tattoo chair with his hand touching the bare skin of your waist.

he instructed you to lie on your stomach, and you felt a rush of nerves as he prepared the equipment.

his touch was gentle as he positioned you, his fingers brushing against your skin and sending sparks through your body.

as he began the tattoo, you were hyper-aware of every sensation and touch on your skin.

heeseung's touch was surprisingly tender, his hands steady and sure. despite the initial sting, his presence was comforting, and you found yourself relaxing under his care.

"so, tell me," he said, his voice low and teasing.

"what made you, the 'good girl,' decide to get a tattoo?"

you sighed, the pain of the needle mingling with the emotions of the day.

"i've always wanted one, but my parents were against it. they threatened to kick me out if i ever got one. tonight, i just... i had to do something for myself."

heeseung nodded, his focus never wavering from his work.

"well, i'm glad you came to me. i've been wanting to talk to you for a really long time."

your heart skipped a beat at his words as confusion slowly laced your thoughts.

"really? you never seemed interested in high school, you always avoided me!"

he laughed softly, the sound sending warmth through you as you fought back your own smile.

"i know, i’m really sorry. i was shy back then, but trust that i've changed."

as he continued, the air between you grew thick with tension.

heeseung's teasing remarks and the way his fingers brushed against your skin made it hard to concentrate on anything else.

the pain became secondary to the electric connection forming between you.

finally, he finished the tattoo and gently cleaned the area, his touch lingering on your skin.

"all done, it looks beautiful on you.." he announced, his voice soft as he grinned down at your excited face.

you sat up, admiring the new ink. it was perfect, and you felt a sense of gratefulness and empowerment wash over you.

"thank you, heeseung. it's amazing, exactly what i wished for.." you whispered in awe and amazement.

he smirked, leaning in close.

"you're welcome sweet girl, but you still need to pay."

you immediately looked down and reached for your wallet, flustered at the nickname, not wanting him to see the pink on your cheeks.

he put his hand on your wrist — stopping you as his eyes locked in with yours as he smirked at your state.

"you can pay me in another way."

before you could react, heeseung closed the distance between you, capturing your lips in a sudden heated kiss, he bit your lip as you felt yourself melting into his embrace.

his confidence melted away as soon as he felt you pulling back, a shy smile replacing his earlier bravado.

"i'm sorry if that was too forward," he mumbled, his cheeks tinged with pink.

“it’s just.. i’ve wanted to do that since high school, i had the biggest crush on you.”

he mumbled caressing the nape of his own neck, a habit of his you had picked up in high school, he did that when he was nervous.

you giggled in adoration, your heart swelling with affection.

"no, it was perfect — and i always liked you as well, hee.." you whispered before leaning in and placing your lips against his again, this time savouring the moment.

you both took your time as you got swept away into the comfort of each other and arms on each others body.

when you finally pulled away, heeseung gave you a love sick grin as he handed you a piece of paper with his number scribbled on it.

"call me soon?" he said, his voice hopeful.

“i’d like to take you out sometime, i mean — if it’s okay with you!” he rambled making you giggle.

you nodded, a smile spreading across your face.

"it’s more than okay hee, and i will."

as you left the shop, you couldn't help but feel that something significant had shifted in your life.

the tattoo was more than just a symbol of rebellion; it was a reminder of your newfound courage and even finally expressing your true self.

and of course, the unexpected connection you had with heeseung.

with his number in your hand and the fluttering in your heart,

you knew this was just the beginning of your life, of something beautiful.
