The Ebony-haired Drone Girl Sat In The Interrogation Room, She Was A Little Scared.She Sat, One Leg Crossed

The ebony-haired drone girl sat in the interrogation room, she was a little scared. She sat, one leg crossed over the other, holding her hands together to self soothe. "Y-you can ask me anything you need to, I'll answer to the best of my memory..." she insisted, she was starting to regret wanting to go out today.

"You seem familiar." Abruptly commented a brunette security drone as she looked Tessa up and down with those yellow eyes of hers, almost like she was scanning her with sensors hidden behind the visor as she pondered who they might be or where they had been seen before.

Compared to a disassembly drone, she was clearly a bit taller being about six feet (or about 1.83M if we're talking metric.), more heavily armored, and there wasn't an exposed sensory array attached to the headband. That and she was weirdly silent in spite of her size...

RoboTessa jumped slightly at the security drone. "Cor blimey, you gave me a startle." She stared at the other drone, shocked at how tall she was. "I... I was formerly known as Tessa James Elliott... and then... well, everything happened," she rubbed her gauntlets near where her wrists were out of anxiety, "I've been dead for at least a decade, but, through some mechanical intervention, I'm alive again, somehow... I'm sorry if I upset you," she winced a little, she was scared if she was in trouble, she didn't like getting in trouble at all, too many bad memories of her getting in trouble with her parents were starting to show up in her mind, she smiled sheepishly. "I-if there's any issue, you could reach out to Jay-b... I mean" she stopped herself from using her pet name for J, "Serial Designation J, if there's any issues... she's one of the drones who helped put me back together."

"She kind of ruined my life, Nate..." Tessa sighed, "Even before the solver fully took over... She kept doing things that got me scolded and locked up, and then I had to start doing the same to her..." She hugged herself, realizing what had happened. "I promised myself I'd never become my mother, and then I did... I did the same thing to the poor girl.. and the solver took her over because she was alone and scared... She probably saw it as the only way to save all of us.." She looked down at her hands, "and... I disobeyed her... and I went to the gala... she was going to spare me and you and J... she was... and then..." Tessa started crying a lot, finally realizing it was probably her fault. "She adored me... she saw me as her big sister... and I let her down, and then she turned into a monster.... this is all my fault."

Hey Nate, it's Tessa (xXRoboTessaXx) I figured out a recipe for oil ice cream, I'll bring some by later. Do you know if the worker drone colony has a clothing store? I need more clothes to wear than the spacesuit, my dress from J and the pretty blue one someone gifted to me. No rush, I'll meet you at the second doors.

He opens the door excited "...are you able to fly? I know were there's a store"

RoboTessa looked excited at the news Vanessa had, she trilled, "That's so great! I wish mine could do that still, she ran her hands over her pretty dark nylon tresses," she snickered, "But poor J would have an aneurysm to come home to me looking different."

She heard Vanessa's next question and explained, "I've been living with J in the landing pod. It's kind of small, but it's home," she smiled softly at the word home. She looked to Vanessa and explained, "It's nice to be living with J. She's actually really sweet deep down, even if she's abbraissive to everyone else."

RoboTessa interjected happily, her voice full of aspiration, "But you look great by the way, but if you ever want to do something different, I still know how to style and colour hair. I hope MAYBE to open my own shop now that I'm back among the living."

The girl drone shrugged before chatting, "Not that I can use human hair anymore, but I've been practicing at sewing heat-resistant nylon wigs and styling them at home. It'd be so fun to helping other drones feel beautiful!"

She realized Vanessa had a job to do, she took a sip of oil before saying politely, "Goodness, I'm sorry for chatting your auditory sensors off, Vanessa. It was just so nice to catch up," she stood up, offering the guard drone a hug, "Just if you're ever around the pod, you can always come by, and we can walk and chat, or you can send me a message and I could stop by"

The brunette security drone would just sigh... hand Tessa a thermos of oil, and calmly signaled for her to go.

"Just... don't wander so closely to the camera room next time, alright... kiddo?"

She wasn't sure if this was actually Tessa or a facsimile, so she was being a bit standoffish for the time being.

Vanessa wasn't about to say that J already knew who she was... since she thought it was better to let Tessa figure it out and remember on her own.

Being the sole security drone in the manor was a complicated operation. She had to keep the workers organized and in check, especially when Tessa's parents were not home... while juggling other duties like pest control and keeping an eye on the kid as well.

That night though, she wasn't there... technically. She could still remember when that body went offline suddenly as something suddenly cut through her core.

She inquired softly, "Go back?" before asking in response, "Like to the manor, or what remains of it? Gosh no,"

She hopped off the store counter and offered Nate a hand to get down. "If you mean back to J's, then probably... I just want to grab a few more things and..." she saw a blue metallic pen with engraved birds on it with the word "bluejay" on it. "I need this. I need this for J," she went back over to help Nate after pocketing the pen and doing a little jump of excitement

Hopes and Goals

Okay, so since I've returned to being alive, and I am more than happy to repair any drone that needs repairing, there's another job I'd like to have that I work more of my time at. It'd be a fun idea because Jaybird is doing patrols but, I don't think she's enjoying her old job as much anymore. I hope to open my own beauty parlour though. I've been sewing new wigs made of heat resistant nylon, I've been practicing sharpening and polishing J's claws, I know how to cut, style and dye wigs. I just need somewhere to set up shop. Maybe Jaybird will see a building that survived the planet explosion that I could use because I don't want to open shop in the bunker, a lot of drones are scared of J, and I want her be welcome any time she wants to be there with me. It would be fun having her as a receptionist.

I know it's a crazy, outback, ridiculous dingo-brained pipe dream, but a girl can dream, right?

She ran in to get her tools and hurried back out to Nate, she kneeled beside him and started using some metal she found the other day, switching her hand to a welder tool.

"Don't look at the light or you'll boot loop," she ordered before she flipped down a welder's mask, she was going to wait for Nate to close his eyes
