V (Devil May Cry 5)

It's here. My second released Reshade/Gshade preset for The Sims 4. Like my previous one, Yuhum, this preset is meant to enhance whatever the light is doing in your game. With certain hotkeys, you can make customizable changes to your screenshots. Brighten or sharpen, add grain and chromatic aberration, or create some fun lens flares. It can be as simple or as personalized as you want it to be.

Click for bigger! Here's a couple before/after shots to show you the subtle changes. Overall the pictures with the preset have a softer look while still remaining quite sharp. The F1 hotkey is a quick adjustment in brightness because sometimes a scene calls for light and bright, and other times you just want to retain the exposure. F1 basically just toggles on/off the pd80 Contrast Brightness Saturation shader.

Want more lens flares? Just go on the HexLensFlare shader and increase the intensity (for brighter flares) and decrease the threshold (for flares coming out more frequently). You can also change the size and the colours of the flares to your liking. Too extra? Just do the opposite or toggle off the shader (Shift + B).

It was important to see how Tawhay looked on different skintones in outdoor and indoor lighting. Keeping the undertone true to sims' skintones was crucial, so I opened up my old high school years save file and got the gang to model for me.

Tawhay uses 2 different kinds of depth of field (DoF) shaders to give you the flexibility of having a mouse-driven DoF or something automatic. For most gameplay shots, I stick with ADoF because it does the job of putting the foreground in focus; but if I want more precise point in focus, I go with CinematicDoF.

These are the list of shaders used. They all come recommended when you install Reshade. If there's anything missing in your shaders folder, you can go to the repository and simply install them. You can also see the hotkeys I've set up, but feel free to change them to whatever suits you.

All the shaders are turned on by default. It is usable this way, but I recommend playing around with toggling on/off different shaders, particularly ones with a corresponding hotkey. That way you can figure out what works best for your screenshots. Personally, I toggle off G (FilmGrain and CAb) because I like to add that stuff in post. I also have F1 toggled off for most shots unless I want something to look darker.

Disclaimer: This preset was made and tested on Reshade 5.9.2 but it should work on other versions of Reshade or GShade as long as you have the necessary shaders.

dogwood tree fix;

i was complaining about this the other day and couldn't rest until i figured it out 😤 basically, something is up with the debug dogwood trees used in brindleton bay and it's causing them to appear neon green for people who have seasons installed. the dogwood trees that are purchasable in the catalog don't have this issue, so i made the debug trees reference the materials of the catalog trees 💌

∴ requires Cats & Dogs (EP04) ∴ conflicts with any file that overrides the EP04 debug dogwood tree
