At what point could fanfiction be considered original work?

I tried to make the answers in some sort of scale. It's still possible we do not all 100% agree with the order of this scale. Every answer can be plural in case of crossovers. "Canon" implies "the inspiration's canon", but shortened.

The definition itself of Original work might be up to debate too, feel free to share what would be your criteria to distinguish original work from fanfiction in terms of works inspired by other works.

None of the works inspired, even by far, by other works are original work (OW)

Stories fully included in the canon are OW

Stories that slightly differ from canon, still canon compliant are OW

Stories that slightly differ from canon, NON canon compliant are OW

Alternate universe, close to canon are OW

Alternate universe, far from canon are OW

Further away from canon, characters are recognisable (name, personality, etc.) are OW

Further away, characters are NOT recognisable are OW

Every single work inspired by other works is original work

It's case by case for each work

As bits of context, I've created a story that uses only the names and powers of characters from various comic books stories, but in terms of setting, of plot, of characters relationships, of characterisation, of anything not names or powers... little to none of it is close to the inspiration's canons, which makes it difficult for me to call it a fanfiction, I'd rather call it original work. But, because it's very loosely inspired from another work, it still might be "fanfiction" from those published stories, hence that poll.
