One thing im very very excited for with Mirage is hopefully bringing back the idea of assassin mystique. Im not the biggest AC1 fan but my god did it have the best example of underground cult killers that could be anywhere at any time like an army. And like Unity and Brotherhood did that really well but looking at the games since Syndicate (even including Syndicate) we really lost that idea of "in the shadows" kind of "could be right behind you" thing and im so glad to see that abject terror hopefully return

We forget so often bc we're playing the good guys who are in the center of it all but that sheer "you dont know and cant trust who" factor of the assassins is so so sooooo important when you think about it from the enemies perspective. Or even just being a random civilian and someone drops dead NEXT TO YOU in a crowd with blood gurgling out of their neck and now you ask yourself "did i see that? Could that happen to me?" UGH i love it

ive only played the last 3 games (origins, odyssey, valhalla) so idk if the other games had something similar to what i'm talking about btw

im playing ac odyssey and how can Kass kill like a bunch of people without a second thought but is like 'nooo dont jump' to that one guy in Pephka. like imagine an ac game where its encouraged NOT to kill anyone bc the protag has morals. I think that would be so interesting. it would create a need for stealth too if its in another open world game like odyssey
