i genuinely don’t understand how people call our beloved summer boring just the cinematography alone is enough to make me watch it not even talking about CHOI WOOSHIK and KIM DAMI i’m having such a good time watching this show you guys don’t even know

as new eps of hometown cha come out we can see why hyejin acts the way she does and says the things she says. the only reason she craves “materialistic” things is because she was poor, when you’re poor getting things like new shoes or clothes isn’t something that happens very often (at least not without worrying about tre price and debating the purchase) hyejin worked this hard fo finally have the freedom to not worry about money so i think she deserves to buy all the things she wants. also when she told dusik they weren’t on the same level or Whatever she said, being poor literally leaves a lasting impression on you hyejin literally can’t understand why dusik would work so hard to end up doing odd jobs like this. hyejin thinks being successful is having power & money because that’s what she was told/saw as a kid. anyway i’m just rambling i have so many thoughts about them.

well she wasn’t like totally poor but she definitely didn’t have enough money for college because she had to pay her way through with part time jobs and tutoring so much so that she didn’t have time for friends or to just hang out. cause director ji talked about how busy she always was.

ALSO the way hyejin and dusik have the same house passcode bc it’s just dusik’s bday that’s so cute

okay i really love the empowerment of women in this drama. the women get everything done!!! and all the men get that they’re like Yeah 👍 we love our girlbosses !!! miseon asking out euncheol, hyejin asking dusik to marry her and then besides just romantic endeavors we see the difficulties of motherhood having your family move far away in the case of gamri or raising children with hwajeong and yugyeong. the experience of losing a child with namsuk. i just really adore this sentiment and it’s something i don’t see done a lot in kdramas :(
