the first panel of a three-panel comic, inspired by @falseknees. it depicts jiang cheng and wei wuxian, walking through a forest. wei wuxian is walking ahead, looking back to jiang cheng who's slightly behind. the whole comic is tinted red. "do you think we're best friends in other universes too?" jiang cheng asks.
the second panel. the surrounding forest is slightly darker now. jiang cheng is falling behind. wei wuxian isn't looking at him anymore, he's looking in the direction they're walking in. jiang cheng is looking at him instead. "um," wei wuxian hesitates,
the third panel. we move from a side view of the characters to a slightly higher angle, looking down onto the dark forest floor now painted with only vibrant reds. jiang cheng, older than the last time we saw him, holds sandu in one hand and zidian in another. he's looking at chenqing, lying on the ground, without its owner. no one is talking, but the speech bubble still points to chenqing. "it doesn't seem likely."
