summary: you try to braid your boyfriends hair, by his request, yet he cant seem to sit still. (fluff only sorry guys)

warnings: just a brief use of y/n, corny fluff, rusty writing, and possibly ooc Peter

a/n: sooo.. this isn't my first fic ever, but it's been a HOT minute. I'm sorry if this is bad, but it's midnight and the peter brain rot is really getting to me :,) also I DEFINITLEY did not make this with Lom in mind.

your fingers brushed through peters hair, periodically separating his silver locks; interlocking the strands over one another, you take a moment to admire him.

his pretty brown eyes, so full of mischief, always make you feel special. even now, as he looked up at you, the back of his head protruding against your stomach, his plush lip jutted out in a pout, he still managed to make you feel like you were the only person in the world.

"cmonnn' y/n.." he droned out, whining like a child who'd  been put in time out

"shhh, peter, I'm just braiding your hair. plus, you were the one who asked me for a braid, no?" you remarked, giggling out that coquettish laugh he absolutely adored.

the sound alone was always enough to shut him up, and this time was no different. he let out a huff, only to relent, pushing himself further into your touch.

truthfully, he really loved these moments with you much more then he let on. he loved the way your fingers curled through the frostbitten strands of his hair, his heart always pounding in response to the painstaking tenderness that always seemed to settle into your eyes.

despite how badly he wanted to just bask in the moment with you, it's just so hard for him to sedate that burning need to move, to do something. the ache that settled in his chest, quite literally vibrating him from the inside out never failed to test his poise.  you usually manage to chill him out. somehow. even when he feels like he's two seconds away from combusting, you always slow the world around him, allowing him to ground himself to all the things he so desperately tries to run from.

now, felling slight less antsy, peter watched as you continued your work, admiring the way your lips parted. you look so outrageously good when you're focused.

tying the hairs you'd managed to weave together; much to peters delight, you pulled back with a satisfied smile. "I've never been able to perfect a braid before!" you cheered, hands clamping down on his broad shoulders.

he hunched forward from the sudden force of your excitement. a throaty laugh spilled from his pretty lips, your gaze shamelessly softening. how does he always manage to reduce you to a mushy mess? a true phenomenon, one Charles would surely know; he's definitely poked his metaphorical sticky fingers into your brain once or twice.

"oh, so I'm just your guinea pig? I see how it is." Peter babbled out, his faux offense bringing you out of your enamored haze, only bidding you to roll your eyes at him.

"hey dork? shut up and let me work my magic." you scolded the poor boy, successfully pulling another huff out of him once you tugged his head back by his forehead. now holding him in place, allowing you to weave your way through his hair once more, you were back at square one.

well.. technically square two, but it felt like square one to peter.

the process of separating his hair into chunks of three was nothing but melodic for you, watching as his silver tuffs fell between the webs of your fingers.

it was a homey feeling for Peter too, in the beginning.. but like always, he ultimately started to get antsy. again.

you watched as his leg bounced in steady repetitive motions, his body visibly vibrating. you silently took notice the way he had to physically restrain himself from whining like a damn dog, unable to stifle the laugh that bubbled out of your throat.

"m' almost done Peter." you assured him, pressing a lingering kiss to the braided side of his head.

letting out a soft breath, he melted into the warmth of your touch; your soft voice reigning him in again. he would drown in your voice if he could, truly. "m'kay."

it felt like an eternity, but for your sake peter didn't complain. not once. in fact, he almost managed to stay completely still. almost.

your gaze never faltered from his face, surprised by the abnormal amount of silence. you were beginning to grow concerned, but that tight feeling in your chest was short lived.

finally threading the last of his hair, tying it up in a pretty braid, Peter wasted absolutely no time. in an invisible flash, too quick for your eyes to register, he was resting on top of you. his body pinning yours to the bed, he pressed his lips to yours, pulling you in for a quick kiss. "love you" he giggled out, pushing his head into the crook of your neck.

you would've been surprised if he was anybody but Peter, but you'd learned to adore his erratic behavior. "love you too Peter." you all but giggled out, knowing in mere moments he'd be running around the house showing off his new braids.
